I had a very satisfying stay here. First off, the location is excellent – right in the bustling heart of downtown Cairo, yet surprisingly quiet. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the Egyptian Museum and a nearby metro station, and about a 20-minute stroll to the Nile River. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries around, making dining and shopping very convenient. The room had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great for making breakfast, and there was a common lounge area on our floor. Getting to Cairo Airport by Uber only took about 30 minutes.

This hotel is not even ready to be opened for business. There were no top sheets, no places to hang up, or even place our clothes on something. The bathrooms are terribly designed and flooded every time we took a shower. The elevator smells like cat piss. The photo of the modern, European style lobby is completely deceiving. Can't imagine how it got a 4 star rating when it's not even ready to receive guests yet. Extremely overpriced for what it is.
That said, the staff were all very nice and tried their best although they don't tell you when you check in that you have to ask them/give permission every day for them to clean your room. They are all young and eager and very accommodating but they need training in the hospitality business.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Cairo. The staff were one of the strongest points: all very well-educated, respectful, and professional. They spoke English fluently, were knowledgeable about Cairo’s attractions, good restaurants, and cafés, and at the same time remained warm, friendly, and approachable.
Breakfast was acceptable but not very varied, especially considering it was served on the rooftop. On colder or windy days, it was not very comfortable to sit there.
Another minor downside was the street noise. While traffic noise is quite normal in Cairo, double-glazed windows could definitely improve guests’ comfort and quietness.
The hotel price was reasonable, and I believe the level of service provided is fair for what you pay.
We booked two tours through the hotel. One was to Alexandria, which was very enjoyable: the guide was cheerful and fun, the driver was professional, and the car was excellent. The second tour was to Giza and the pyramids, also a great experience. The tour guide was patient and very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and civilization.
In general, I was satisfied with the hotel. There is room for improvement, especially regarding noise, but for the price, it is a good option and offers solid value.

The hotel was comfortable enough for daily life, with a kitchen (with stove, cutlery, microwave, etc.), washing machine, and hair dryer. I tried to find a laundry service in Egypt but it was expensive, so I was glad to be able to do my laundry here (although there was no drying function). The shower water pressure and temperature were also good (although there was no hot water for a while in the morning). There were many souvenir shops and restaurants within walking distance, so it was convenient. I recommend using the metro or taxi to get to Khan Khalili and shopping malls. The reception staff were also friendly.

This is supposed to be a high-end hotel, yet the kettle in my room was broken upon check-in. The breakfast spread was ample, but the cold water served by the waitress in a glass cup tasted distinctly like tap water, and I couldn't tell if it was even mineral water. I'd really suggest the hotel management try a sip of the cold water served by the waitstaff, then a sip of tap water in a guest room, and finally a sip of actual mineral water. Even a three-star hotel shouldn't have such issues.

This hotel is right in the heart of the bustling city center. There are tons of places to eat downstairs, and you can easily walk to a Chinese restaurant.
The room was really clean, and the duvets were incredibly comfortable – they seemed like high-quality down comforters, definitely a splurge! They were even better than those I've had in hotels costing over a thousand yuan.
Breakfast was super generous, and you could even order coffee to be delivered directly to your room.
However, there's one issue: it's facing the street. It feels like people in Cairo never sleep; there were motorcycle noises even in the middle of the night. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to avoid this room, or bring earplugs, or ask the hotel to put you on the other side of the building.

Hotel was good overall , considering its price and location. The entrance is actually at the back alley from the main street but it is not dangerous even for ladies.
You will need to take the lift up to the 5 th floor reception where they will greet you. Breakfast was served at their ‘restaurant’ and cannot be taken away. They serve at 8am , which I think is a little late since many tours starts around that time too. Breakfast is hearty so we enjoyed it very much !
For the room, it is ok. The building is old so we can’t complain too much. Room is clean and big , so is the toilet.
We were also told that we have to leave our keys at the reception when we head out for the day. Then when we come back we can collect the keys again at the reception. Not ideal since we planned to leave some cash and some valuables in the room. We had no problem with our items but you may consider this if you are concern about privacy of your property.
Overall we had a good stay.

Great
RricksterI needed to stay here for a business trip. The good points are the consistently high quality of the St. Regis rooms, the abundant breakfast, and I loved the swimming pool.
The downside is the location. The new capital city is so new; the nearest shopping mall is a 30-minute drive away, and because it's so new, even ride-hailing services are hard to find. The hotel only has two restaurants.
VVon30Stayed for 4 nights. Upon check-in I asked the man at the reception if anything else was needed as normally a deposit would be taken. Was told that everything was fine. On the 2nd night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant at the lobby. Food was not prepared as I requested as I ordered steak. The waiter insisted that I sliced through the middle to check it as I ordered medium rare. He agreed that it was overcooked. Took it back and said that they would prepare another order. However, 5minutes later he sent the same steak back to me and mentioned that they checked under proper lighting and it was cooked properly. It was very obvious that it was definitely overcooked and dry. I just accepted it and couldn’t be bothered. Mind you the fries that came with the steak was over fried and hard as rock. I didn’t even eat another piece after trying it. Halfway through chewing on the hard and dry steak. The waiter decided to come back again and ask if everything was fine and if I didn’t like it they could cook me another piece. This was just frustrating and I didn’t want to wait anymore as it was late and I was tired from a full day tour. Finally finished my dinner and asked for the bill. I signed it to the room. The waiter comes back and tells me that I didn’t put a deposit in the room so I had to pay. Mind you I brought no cards or cash since I expected that I could bill to the room. One of us ended up going back to the room to take money to pay for the meal which was embarrassing and unacceptable for our standards. We were staying for 4 nights. On our last night of stay, we came back to the hotel and we were locked out of the room. Had to go back to reception and found out that the person who checked us in didn’t put the correct number of nights. This was truly a disgrace on Waldorf and the receptionist. Obviously your staff at the check in need more training. I have stayed in many international hotels around the world and never face such lowly trained staff at reception that make such mistakes which spoils the image of the hotel.
However, I have to give a huge shoutout to a few people that made my days great. Menna and Apeeo from breakfast were wonderful. Impeccable service from them. However, male staffs showed poor knowledge and were quite lazy as they were more interested in chatting that serving customers. Bellman Sherif was wonderful helping us check out with our luggages and even waited with us for our transport.
MM17372****[”The Le Méridien Cairo Airport hotel is a lifesaver! It's right next to the airport, so you can walk there. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the Centella asiatica toiletries were a delightful surprise. The 24-hour service is thoughtful, making it my top choice for a layover.”,”Fantastic stay! The breakfast spread was incredibly diverse and delicious. The free WiFi was stable, and the outdoor pool and fitness center were practical. The staff were professional and enthusiastic.”,”This airport hotel truly offers a luxurious experience! The thick bedding made for a great night's sleep, and the Chinese restaurant served excellent food. They can also arrange airport pick-up and provide tour information. The value for money is absolutely incredible!”]
3320255****This hotel is very close to Cairo International Airport and has a great atmosphere, even with peacocks roaming the grounds. I chose a ground-floor room with a courtyard, which was right across from the pool. There are also various restaurants offering different cuisines nearby.
GGuest UserI caught the early flight to the airport. I had a few simple breakfasts and went to the lobby. After waiting for the arrival of the shuttle bus, I found that I accidentally left the passport bag and there was cash in the restaurant bag. After a while, the staff helped me deliver it very much. But later, when I got off the plane and exchanged money, I found that the cash inside must have lost the cash banknote of 250💶. The whole passport bag in Egypt was with me all the way. I lost almost ten minutes at this moment, and then unfortunately I had to end my trip to Egypt. I have left a message to the hotel to adjust the monitoring, but I don't know if there is any feedback and whether it can be found. At present, people have been to Tunisia to play, and the cash euros for the hotel are not enough!
AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
GGuest UserA very pleasant experience, perfect in every way.
Special praise to the reception manager Abdel Fatah Mohamed for answering the phone even though he was on leave and leading an excellent team to find my lost coat quickly. Thank you very much 🙏👍👍
Highly recommended to stay and enjoy your holiday.
GGuest UserI loved my experience in the hotel, it has an Egyptian taste and touch.. I will diffidently would re-stay at this hotel.. for my next visit to Cairo.
GGuest UserThe staff of this hotel was not good, At about 8 PM in the evening, the hotel front desk staff called the room and said that the hotel we booked only allows one person to stay. If two people stay, they need to add an additional fee of 70 US dollars. Very unlogic, so I leave my friend and I booked another hotel.but the facilities and environment is good .only their service is bad
