I stayed at this hotel for a week while exploring London, and didn't move around at all. The main reason was its convenient location – right in the city center but still relatively quiet. The British Museum is within walking distance, and it's just a short stroll from Russell Square tube station. The hotel is quite large, and there's a constant flow of guests, so make sure to get to breakfast early to avoid queues, though there's always plenty of food available. The room was reasonably spacious, and the heating worked perfectly during our stay. We were given a room not facing the street, which was very quiet. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of a fridge in the room. The staff were very efficient; when there was a small issue with the shower in our bathroom, someone came to fix it right away.

Decent hotel extended for a day to explore more of London. The extension gave me a breakfast included. The breakfast was well below average, limited options and the coffee was cheap. If its included in the fee, have a try. If you want to add on a breakfast I would suggest thinking twice and trying the shops around the hotel for more variation and quality.

The hotel is super close to the subway station, right in the city center. There's a security guard checking cards at the entrance, so it might not be for picky princesses looking to save money. If you've stayed in hostels, this is like a luxurious version. Each room requires a key card to enter, and the individual doors can be locked (I recommend bringing your own lock). If you're a light sleeper, definitely bring noise-canceling headphones or earplugs. No waiting for the toilet or shower.

Excellent location, right in the middle of Russell Square, just a 3-minute walk to the subway station. There's a whole series of convenience stores and restaurants right around the corner downstairs. The breakfast selection was great, and the Wi-Fi speed was impressive too! The British Museum is only a 7-minute walk away.

Pros: The reception staff are great, especially Sree and Sunday, and solved problems effectively and efficiently. Location is great especially for users of Elizabeth Line to and from Heathrow. Various choices of room size. Hotel is new and clean. Cons: No electric kettle in room. You need to go down to ground floor to get hot water from the coffee machine. Water is free but not the coffee. I booked a First Class Room, but the system gave me one on the first floor with no windows. I put up with it for the first 2 days as I was busy. Later had to change room. First class room is roomy, but other rooms are on the small side.

The room was a bit small with average ventilation, but that's to be expected in such a prime location. Dining in the lobby felt a bit cramped. Overall, it was decent. The front desk manager provided excellent service, and luggage storage was convenient. The environment was clean and hygienic, and it's very close to the city center and the station.

GGuest User 2026.03.06
I stayed at Sidney Hotel Victoria during a very unexpected and urgent two-day trip to London. Because everything happened last minute, I had very little time to choose where to stay. This hotel simply seemed like the most practical option. I had seen a few mixed reviews beforehand, so I arrived with fairly normal expectations. What I experienced instead was a stay that genuinely exceeded them. I arrived at the hotel at around 4:00 AM after a long and exhausting journey. Despite the extremely late hour, I was welcomed by two incredibly kind and professional staff members at reception who helped me check in quickly and smoothly. I had forgotten to bring a UK adapter, which could have easily been a problem, but they kindly lent me one without hesitation. That small gesture already made a huge difference after such a long night. When I entered the room I was honestly surprised. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and absolutely spotless. Everything was perfectly prepared and very well maintained. It had all the essentials a traveler needs, including a kettle with instant coffee and tea, toiletries, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. After reading some reviews beforehand, I was not expecting the room to be this pleasant, so it was a wonderful surprise. The breakfast was a simple English breakfast, but it was fresh, satisfying, and more than enough to start the morning feeling full and ready for the day. It was exactly what you need before heading out to explore the city. Check-out was just as smooth as check-in. The staff were very helpful and kindly stored my luggage for a few hours before I had to leave for my flight, which made my last day in London much easier and stress free. I would especially like to thank Manali for her warm smile and welcoming personality. She truly made the stay even more memorable. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and we shared a bit of small talk that made the experience feel very personal and genuine. Staff members like her are truly what make a hotel stand out. My overall experience at Sidney Hotel Victoria was excellent. The location is fantastic, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are genuinely welcoming and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.

My wife and I had a stay at Mimis recently, and overall, we enjoyed it and would stay there again. However, I suggest doing some research beforehand, as the rooms are quite tiny. Even though we were aware of this before arriving, we were still a bit surprised by just how small they were. Despite this, it didn't negatively impact our experience or spoil our stay. The room and bathroom was nicely decorated. I only have a few minor observations rather than complaints. Upon check-in, we requested a late check-out, but the person at the reception seemed a bit abrupt, as he did with an older couple in front of us who had questions about their room location in the annex and that they hoped to stay in the main building. The pillows provided were not very supportive, as they deflated to almost nothing. If we had stayed for more than one night and asked for extra pillows, they would have been accommodating. Regarding breakfast, we inquired about the options available and were informed that they offered coffee and pastries. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide hot food, which was a bit disappointing. It would have been nice to have the choice of continental-style breakfast with cold meats and other items; we would have been willing to pay for it as we only wanted somthing light. Despite these very small things, they did not affect our overall enjoyment of the stay. We still had a pleasant time, and we are looking forward to returning to Mimis in the future. Location is great!

Great location, located 2 mins away from Earl’s court station, common grocery stores nearby. Breakfast was great, different food to choose. During the stay, one of the door on the shelf was hard to close, one of the towel had hair and stain on it but service team quickly sent us new set of towels. Overall the stay was okay, staffs were nice, bed was comfortable, perfect for short trips exploring london.

Enjoyable stay at the Astor Court Hotel. The location was excellent and the room clean neat and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly supplying extra pillows when we needed them. Overall I would say good value for money. The continental breakfast however was adequate but very basic so I would question if it was worth it. If you’re in a hurry then it may fit the bill otherwise I would go out to eat.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Aldgate Tower Bridge for two nights at the end of August and had a rather underwhelming experience. We expected more from this hotel, judging by its ratings online. As Coldplay was in town (our reason for visiting London), prices were higher than average. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Aldgate East and about eight minutes from Aldgate Station. Liverpool Street Station is technically in walkable distance aswell, though taking the bus there is easier, with a stop right in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend walking to Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line – the walk felt long, annoying, and unsafe. Also, avoid walking further down the road toward McDonald’s after dark – sketchy atmosphere, and we saw two police scenes within those five mins of walking. Walking to Aldgate or Liverpool Street is safer. The arrival was.. odd. No one greeted us, and we waited in the lobby for several minutes before someone finally helped us at a not-so-clean high table. The staff member seemed demotivated and spoke very quietly, though check-in was quick. Unfortunately, we were charged twice despite prepaying nearly a year earlier through a third party. This was resolved after I spoke with the manager, but I was surprised it was marked as a “user error” on our invoice, and no small gesture like waiving the early check-in fee was offered for the inconvenience. We were given a room on the 9th floor. The corridors are dim, with black walls and stuffy air despite it being just 22 degrees outside. The “triple room” is simply too small for three adults. The storage areas under the twin beds is smart, and there is a small wardrobe with two drawers, but oddly no safe to store your valuables. A table and chair cramped the room unnecessarily and looked cheap compared to the rest. The sofa bed was decent but had a pretty thin mattress and annoying metal railings that can be a little annoying when standing up / lying down; there was also no nightstand, only a photo shelf right above it where you really can’t put anything. The kitchen area becomes very narrow once the sofa bed is pulled out. The fridge and sink were great, but the bins were tiny and filled up after just one day. The bathroom was also cramped, with practically no counter space. No toothbrush cups, Q-tips, or cotton pads were provided – unusual for a 4-star property. The soap dispenser was nearly empty and even fell out of its holder, and none of the dispensers were secured/locked, which isn’t hygienic (most hotels have that nowadays, for a reason!). We didn’t know where to go with dirty towels as there was no designated spot for them and no space. The heated towel holder being *right* next to the toilet is weird and inconvenient. We had the AC running for hours & hours on end, yet it barely managed to cool down the room to an acceptable temp. At least it was quiet enough to keep on at night. The TV had few channels but casting worked very well. Light controls were fine, and the blackout blinds were excellent– also essential, since the windows aren’t tinted from the outside. On the positive side, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet at night despite the hotel being full. We skipped breakfast as there are better options near Liverpool Street Station that we wanted to try out. All in all, our first ever stay at a Wilde property was just okay. The location is central but not particularly the nicest, the staff lacked warmth, and the triple room was way too small for three adults. It should not be sold as a triple for three adults and would be better suited for parents with a small child. I imagine the higher room categories might do a better job of accommodating three adults. We had what we needed; a clean room with good public transport connections. However, we wouldn’t stay here again as there’s better options out there.

CchristiatheoMy stay at Novotel London Canary Wharf was overall very solid, with a few standout moments that made it memorable. The first thing that struck me was the hotel’s modern feel. Everything from the reception area to the corridors had a clean, stylish look. Check-in was quick, and the staff were polite and professional, though not overly personal. It felt efficient rather than warm—but still perfectly pleasant. The room itself was comfortable and well thought out. The bed was great for a good night’s sleep, and the blackout curtains worked really well—ideal if you want to fully rest after a busy day. The room wasn’t huge, but it made smart use of space, and everything felt practical. The view was definitely a highlight, especially if you’re on a higher floor—you get a great look at the surrounding Canary Wharf skyline. Facilities were another plus. The gym was well-equipped for a hotel, and the swimming pool was a nice bonus, especially for unwinding in the evening. However, it can get a bit busy at peak times, which slightly takes away from the relaxing vibe. The rooftop bar is probably the hotel’s best feature. The views are genuinely impressive, and it has a more premium feel compared to the rest of the hotel. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s expected given the location and setting. Location-wise, it’s ideal if you’re staying in Canary Wharf for work or prefer a quieter part of London. It’s not as lively as central areas like Soho or Shoreditch, but transport links are excellent, so getting around isn’t an issue. On the downside, the lifts were occasionally slow, especially during busy hours, and the breakfast area could feel crowded. The breakfast itself was decent, though not particularly memorable. Overall, Novotel London Canary Wharf offers a reliable, comfortable stay with great views and solid amenities. It may not feel ultra-luxurious, but it delivers good value and a pleasant experience in one of London’s most modern districts.

GGuest UserVery nice staff, very helpful. Breakfast buffet available, and when I needed to leave very early in the morning they provided me some cold food(croissants, muffins, oranges and hot coffee/chocolate). They also provide tooth brush/paste, shaving set, comb when asked at the reception. A couple of minor things: corridors are a bit hard to navigate for me, was not obvious which door leads to elevators, needed to read the signs after getting lost 😅. I am not sure but breakfast seems to be the same every day? On the second day of my stay eggs were not there, but the rest was the same, I guess. I loved the option that you can grab a cup of coffee/chocolate/tea with you to go after you finished your breakfast. Not sure about every room, but mine didn't have a refrigerator, but I remember in my other IHG hotel stay there was one. Also hearing is possible only via air conditioner, and the maximum temperature is regulated, as I understood. Otherwise very neet hotel, clean, friendly.

GGuest UserPros: - Decently sized, standard layout and comfortable rooms. - Rooms are quite clean, service in general was nothing too special but gets the job done! - Convenient location near buses and metro to Central London / Oxford for a day trip, close to Westfield London which has great number of F&B outlets, supermarkets and shops. Cons: - Housekeeping was inconsistent; stayed for 6 days, everyday was missing something different, not being replenished in the room; could be tea, coffee, hand towels, tissue paper, toilet paper etc… had to keep calling for service every night throughout the stay. If housekeeping had set up the room in standard, hassle could be alleviated from all parties as it takes the housekeeping more than 20 minutes every time to bring the items. - Both toilet paper rolls were removed unexpectedly one night, even when we certainly left the room with them both in the morning which I find a bit funny as there wasn’t even a need to replenish - but simply removed. - Clock timing was incorrect 6 days throughout the stay and nobody clocked that nor changed it. - Slight wear and tear in the room but nothing too major affecting our stay apart from the bathtub glass panel seam being broken and water kept coming out of the shower. - Emergency alarms went off at 730AM with no explanation. - There was daily construction noise and one day the workers and equipments were all outside our room for a good 4 hours in the morning to afternoon time. Again, I don’t blame it because maintenance is important but a notice would be nice. Overall, I think the hotel gets its job done, the room and location were decent and comfortable. It’s the housekeeping and maintenance fell below expectations.

AAlison’s Silk Road TravelsI stayed in room 302 in March 2026 for 1 night. I chose this hotel because I stayed there before and I was very impressed. This time I was given the same room again, I liked the room. It has a large comfy bed and a nice clean bathroom. The breakfast was really good as I like vegetables and they do great omelettes and fresh vegetables. The reception staff are very kind and helpful during my visit and remembered me from the last time I stayed. The hotel is in very easy access to the underground. On this visit the Elizabeth line was closed and I had to get a bus to agents Hill. This was very easy. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel including an all you can eat from £11.99. I always have a good Stay at this hotel. There is a kettle with plenty of T and coffee. Some people staying on my floor were very noisy but that was all I can criticise really as it wasn’t the hotels fault. Very kind staff. There is a decent TV in the room and plenty of towels. During this trip and overnight stay I visited the Ramses exhibition at Battersea and images are included in this feedback. A good hotel to stay in that’s great value just outside central London about 20 mins on train.

2201675****The room was tiny, barely enough space to turn around, and once we opened our suitcases, they completely blocked the door. As for the shower, it was barely usable, just enough to get by. The upside is the incredibly convenient location. It's right next to Paddington Station and the tube, making it super easy to get anywhere. Hyde Park is just a few hundred meters away – perfect for a stroll through the park, enjoying the scenery, and feeding the pigeons. Buckingham Palace is only about a kilometer further. During the Christmas season, Regent Street is just four bus stops and a hundred-meter walk away. It was quite expensive, but that's London for you. It really depends on what you prioritize. If you just need a place to sleep that's well-located for exploring, it's a decent option.
