Hotel near Green Park Lane/Calligraphy Greenway,Taichung
"This hotel offers great value for money, with many dining options nearby. The hotel's design, with its soft colors and eco-friendly materials, creates a relaxing atmosphere. The front desk staff are polite, helpful, and friendly. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, ensuring a quiet and undisturbed night's sleep. The lobby even provides complimentary drinks and candies. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit to Taichung. It would be even more perfect if they could add USB charging ports and a clothes hook in the bathroom."

"Staying at Occu Hotel Taichung was quite an interesting experience. If you're looking for a hotel in the city center that's modern, design-focused, and a bit 'unconventional,' then this place is definitely worth checking out.
Here are a few genuine takeaways from my stay:
## 1. Excellent Location: Quiet in the Bustle
One of the best things about Occu Hotel is its prime location. It's situated in the West District, within walking distance of Calligraphy Greenway, Shenji New Village, and Park Lane by CMP.
* Perfect for Arts & Culture Enthusiasts: Enjoy a morning stroll along the Greenway, explore the market at Shenji New Village in the afternoon, and easily return to the hotel in the evening without worrying about transportation.
* Foodie Hotspot: The area is full of hidden gems, including excellent independent coffee shops and unique restaurants, making it very friendly for 'foodies.'
## 2. Design-Driven: Minimalist Industrial Style
Upon entering the lobby, you're immediately struck by its strong visual aesthetic. This isn't your typical opulent hotel; instead, it combines metallic elements, fair-faced concrete, and modern geometric designs.
* Room Atmosphere: While the rooms aren't overly spacious (common for renovated old buildings in Taichung), the space is incredibly well-utilized. The lighting setup creates a cozy ambiance, evoking a sense of a '都會避難所' (urban sanctuary).
* Attention to Detail: The choice of bathroom fixtures and amenities shows thoughtful consideration, with a consistent style and good quality.
## 3. Self-Service: Technology and Convenience
Occu utilizes a higher proportion of self-service options, which is a big plus for those who prefer their independence and don't want too much small talk with the front desk.
* Easy Access: Using electronic locks or a self check-in system makes the process smooth and efficient.
* Public Spaces: The rooftop or common areas often feature surprising design details, perfect for snapping some modern-looking photos for social media.
## 4. A Few Gentle Reminders
While the experience was great, there are a few things to keep in mind:
* Soundproofing: As it's an old building renovation located in a busy city area, those who are extremely sensitive to noise might want to bring earplugs.
* Parking: Renovated old houses in the city center typically don't have large dedicated parking lots. Drivers might need to use partner parking lots or street parking spaces.
> Overall Verdict:
> Occu Hotel is ideal for couples or solo travelers. It's more than just a place to sleep; it feels like a miniature contemporary art gallery. If you're tired of cookie-cutter chain hotels and want to experience the vibrant pulse of Taichung's West District, this would be a cool place to stay."

"The sofa bed will be covered with a mattress, pillow, and comforter. If there are any problems with the self-service check-in machine on the first floor, you can press the bell to speak to a staff member. The electric massage chairs on the first floor are very comfortable, but there are quite a few mosquitoes."

"The facilities are brand new and well-designed (heated toilet seat, hairdryer, refrigerator...). The room was bright, spacious, and comfortable. We stayed in a triple room (7006), and the shower and toilet were in two separate spaces, with the sink outside, which allowed for individual use without crowding. The staff in the second-floor restaurant were incredibly enthusiastic, constantly wishing us a pleasant journey and a Merry Christmas.
The only minor drawback is that the parking lot is diagonally across the street. Because the road is very wide, it takes a while to walk there. You have to drop off your luggage first, and cars can only temporarily park on the sidewalk. If two cars need to drop off luggage at the same time, the second car has to wait, as there isn't enough space."

"Clean and tidy, convenient and fast self-service business travel! Beyond the inconvenience of parking, everything is good. The light rail station is outside the hotel. It is close to the various districts. There is a family flagship store directly opposite! No breakfast can go to the opposite family or order takeaway!"
"I didn't specify a room type when I booked, but the hotel kindly arranged a spacious four-person room with a bathtub! The room had typical hotel decor, but it was perfectly fine for the price."
"We made a last-minute decision for a family trip, but since there were no family rooms available, we were told we'd have to split into two double rooms. We requested them to be close together, and thankfully, they arranged for us to have adjoining rooms. We went for breakfast a bit late, so some dishes were already gone, but the staff thoughtfully cooked five fried eggs for our whole family on the spot and even asked if we'd had Yakult, bringing some over right away. The service was incredibly attentive. This will definitely be our top choice for our next visit!"
