"The hotel was very comfortable; the pillows and duvet were excellent, allowing me to sleep soundly until I naturally woke up. The front desk also upgraded my room for free, which was a great experience. After returning from sightseeing, there was complimentary tremella soup available. My only three minor complaints are: first, the soundproofing isn't great. Around midnight, the neighbors were arguing loudly, and a woman was crying. Thankfully, it only lasted a short while. Second, in the restaurant, there were used plates left in an unused area. It might have been kids messing around, but I'd still suggest the restaurant increase patrols to avoid impacting the hotel's image. Lastly, the soup for the Tianjin-style Guobacai was cold, and the mung bean noodles weren't properly soaked (lol), so I gave up on it, which was a waste."

"This was my first trip to Tianjin, traveling with my two children. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, they gave the kids a small New Year's gift ornament. Our room was upgraded to an executive room. On the first day, I didn't have any particular feelings about it; I just wanted a comfortable and safe stay with my children. But on the second day, I truly felt the benefits of this hotel. The location is incredibly convenient. You can walk along the Hai River all the way to the Tianjin Eye, enjoying the scenery. Taxis to all the popular attractions cost only about ten yuan. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, the housekeeping staff cleaned everything meticulously and even provided children's amenities. They also left a handwritten service note, which was very heartwarming. Traveling with two kids, I really appreciate this kind of care and attention when away from home."

"Great stay with my family of 4, though the bed was a bit hard. Location was perfectly located on top of a mall and the metro station with direct line to Tianjin South station. Also it was very close to Wudadao, which was optimal for first time Tianjin visitors like us. The host was incredibly helpful and responsive and took great care of us with whatever we needed. There was a washing machine with laundry detergent provided. I recommend this stay to all who is visiting Tianjin."

"As a frequent business traveler, this hotel really hit all the right notes for me! The location is absolutely fantastic – only a five-minute walk from the subway station, and I never hit traffic on the way to my clients' offices. The soundproofing in the room is excellent; once the door was closed, I couldn't hear any noise from the hallway, which meant I slept really soundly every night. The high-speed WiFi didn't even stutter during video conferences. The hotel's self-service laundry room is open 24/7, and they even have delivery robots for food orders, which is incredibly convenient for business people who need to stay on top of things. The value for money is outstanding. This hotel has definitely made it onto my go-to list for business trips! And a special thanks to Allen for his service during my stay."

"During New Year's Day, I had my first stay at the Astor Hotel in Tianjin, a hotel with a profound sense of history. While it had its commendable aspects, there were also numerous shortcomings that urgently need improvement. I was particularly disappointed with the hotel's facility maintenance and service management, and I am providing this feedback accordingly. First, let's discuss the hotel's advantages and highlights. The hotel boasts an excellent location right by the Haihe River, with a dazzling array of high-rise buildings across the bank. As night falls, the city lights create a vibrant, New York Manhattan-esque urban atmosphere, making for a superb night view. Transportation is also incredibly convenient; you can walk to Tianjin's core cultural and tourism areas like Jiefang North Road and the Five Avenues. The surrounding old buildings are rich in heritage and diverse in style, allowing you to fully experience the city's charm by strolling through them. Furthermore, the interior of the rooms maintains the hotel's historical tone, with a unique vintage design that showcases its heritage in every detail. The immersive experience during my stay was truly impressive. However, compared to its highlights, the problems exposed by the hotel are far more prominent, particularly in service management and facility maintenance. These issues are severely inconsistent with the hotel's historical reputation and positioning, which is unacceptable. In terms of service management, the overall service awareness was extremely weak, lacking the professionalism and etiquette expected of a high-end hotel. Only the front desk staff at check-in showed acceptable attitudes; the service experience in all other areas could be described as perfunctory: the foreign doorman did not proactively offer guidance or greetings, and I never received even a basic greeting from any hotel staff I encountered. Throughout my stay, there was a pervasive sense of coldness and detachment, completely disregarding the guest experience, which is entirely at odds with the hotel's brand character. Even more off-putting were the chaotic service issues in the hotel's museum. As a potentially chargeable ancillary venue, it should be an important place to showcase the hotel's history and culture and enhance guest experience. Yet, there were instances of staff dereliction of duty: two male and one female staff member were clustered together, chatting loudly and heedlessly even with visitors nearby. They even obstructed the projection video playback area for extended periods without proactively moving. Another male staff member was sitting on a museum sofa watching videos with the volume turned up so high that it drowned out the hotel's introductory video, severely disrupting visitors' experience and destroying the venue's tranquil atmosphere and cultural immersion. It's hard to imagine how such a level of service management could befitting of a high-end hotel with historical depth, and even harder to understand why a charged venue would tolerate such lax management and inappropriate service. Regarding facility maintenance, 'vintage' should never be an excuse for 'outdated facilities and lack of maintenance.' Various facilities in my hotel room clearly showed signs of inadequate maintenance, and oversights in detail severely diminished the overall guest experience: the towel rack was loose and wobbly, almost on the verge of falling off, posing a safety hazard; the sink faucet made noticeable abnormal noises when turned on and off, suggesting aging parts that haven't been replaced in time; switching shower head modes was very difficult and inconvenient, affecting daily use. Moreover, the wardrobe's space planning was highly unreasonable. While it's understandable to embed a safe within the wardrobe, it didn't adequately consider practical usage, directly occupying a significant portion of hanging space, making it inconvenient to store clothes. This highlights a perfunctory approach in both design and management—neither considering the practicality of facilities nor making timely adjustments, completely disregarding guest comfort. As a hotel steeped in historical heritage and held in high regard, the Astor Hotel Tianjin should have balanced the preservation of its historical charm with professional service and comprehensive facilities. However, during this stay, the lax service management and lack of facility maintenance not only failed to meet guest expectations but also damaged the hotel's brand reputation. I hope the hotel will address these issues, acknowledge legitimate guest feedback, strengthen staff service training and etiquette standards, improve its service management system, and thoroughly inspect and rectify all facility hazards. It should also carry out regular maintenance, optimize space planning and facility layouts to truly achieve 'a sense of history without feeling old, and historical depth with professional service,' living up to its brand legacy and guests' trust."

"This is my second stay at the Banyan Tree Tianjin, and I'm very satisfied. The hotel is located in the Tianjin Eye commercial district, just a few minutes' drive from the Ancient Culture Street, the popular snack street at Xibeijiao, and the Italian Style Street. The service is excellent; the duty managers, Tina and Jerry, were very warm, attentive, and thoughtful! The hotel's interior environment is elegant and well-equipped. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Tianjin."

"The hotel boasts a superb downtown location, surrounded by a vast array of dining options, including local specialties like Jianbing Guozi. Directly opposite stands the historic Dengyinglou Restaurant; however, I wouldn't recommend it. We visited once to find it quite deserted, and to our surprise, they couldn't even prepare dishes like 'Eight Treasure Tofu.' For leisure, the Wudadao Historic Cultural Area and Minyuan Plaza 1902 Street—both culinary hotspots and popular Instagrammable spots—are just a short stroll away. Excellent shopping opportunities at Joy City (Heping District branch), IFS, Gili Building, and Binjiangdao are also conveniently within walking distance. The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, and the bedding is fresh and odor-free. Despite its age, the hotel is remarkably well-maintained, a testament to their attention to detail. The service staff were excellent, and a major plus, especially for those driving, is the hotel's underground parking. Breakfast is a highlight, offering a rich buffet with a blend of Chinese and Western dishes, alongside local specialties such as Jianbing Guozi and Gaba Cai. Highly recommended!"

"Staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Tianjin, Jinhai Plaza was the best decision and an amazing start to my trip to Tianjin! Jinhai Plaza is perfectly central for a two-day itinerary. On the first day, I could easily walk to the Five Avenues, Xiaobailou, Xikai Church, and more, all along one route. By the time I returned, it was already evening, and the night view was spectacular! The second day, I went in the opposite direction, which conveniently covered my second route. No wasted steps or repeating routes! The hotel is right at the Jinhai Plaza subway exit, so even with luggage, it's a breeze. From downstairs, you can see the Century Clock and the night view of Jiefang Bridge. The location is absolutely superb! The whole building feels very comfortable and peaceful. **Facilities:** The gym was pretty good. Since I planned to explore local street food in Tianjin, I booked without breakfast. I didn't get to try the hotel breakfast this time, but I'll definitely check it out on my next visit. **Service:** The service was very attentive and thoughtful. They specifically helped me find a hair tie and went out of their way to arrange an early check-in for me. It really allowed me to enjoy Tianjin worry-free! **My personal tips:** It felt a bit strange seeing my name pop up on the TV screen when I first turned it on. The card design downstairs was very nice; I even took one with me. Perhaps on the back of the card, it could be a handwritten message instead? As for the TV, maybe just skip the personalized greeting next time."

"Great IBIS Hotel at Jinwan Plaza. I booked an internal room (no panorama view), yet, the room was spacious, comfortable and didn't feel claustrophobic. The staff members are very nice and helpful; although I only know one or two words in Chinese, I was able to easily communicate with the staff members through a translate app on my mobile. There is free WIFI throughout the hotel. Daily cleaning is provided. I booked breakfast at the hotel at my arrival and it was a great choice; breakfast buffet: cold and hot, sweet and savoury. The hotel is at Jinwan Plaza; just outside - literary, at the corner - there is JINWANGUANGCHANG metro station (Line 3). One stop and you are at the Train Station where you can catch the Line 1 to the airport (it takes about 15 - 20 mins to the airport). The train station is just behind of the hotel and on the other side of the river, it probably a 5 min walk passing through the beautiful Jerfang Bridge. The hotel is also perfectly located to visit some of the main attractions such as Porcelain House, the Italian Quarter and the Binjiang Shopping Street. In the evening have a walk by the river with it's amazing light show."

"I haven't found anything to complain during our stay in this hotel, we asked to remove odor before our check-in, and it's done great, for a 4-star hotel, we got free washer and dryer, fridge,even though I plugged it by myself, we also got small gym, then the smart bidet which we really liked, spacious room, also with voice control for lights, curtain, AC, but you have to speak Chinese Some cons, no safe to leave the valuables in, maybe they are confident for the hotel safety, voice control stopped working for one night,"
