Hotels in Hengshan Road Area, Shanghai

Stayed here for two days. The location is very close to South Shaanxi Road, offering an authentic experience of an old Shanghai lane house. The room was very clean, with every nook and cranny tidied up, and the towels felt and smelled fresh from the dryer. The check-in process was simple, and any questions were quickly answered by the staff. Overall, I was very satisfied.

1. Although there was parking closer to the lobby, the security guard at the entrance directed me to park in the opposite direction. He even asked if it was my first time staying there, and when I said yes and mentioned I had luggage, he didn't inform me about any shuttle service, especially on such a hot day. 2. There were staff members at the lobby entrance who enthusiastically helped me with my luggage all the way to my room. However, their professionalism was lacking. When I asked about the gym's location and whether it was free for guests, I was told guests had to pay. When I inquired about the price, they said they didn't know and told me to call the front desk. After calling the front desk, I was informed that gym access is indeed free for hotel guests. 3. The bottled water provided by the hotel tasted terrible. 4. The cleanliness was subpar. On the day of check-in, I found the bench at the foot of the bed to be very dirty, with small items left by previous guests. It remained dirty throughout my three-night stay. 5. The hotel gym is large and bright. It's pleasant to walk around the hotel grounds, and there are many lawn wedding setups. Other than that, the service and hygiene definitely need improvement.

We particularly loved the location (walking distance to bars, cafes and restaurants but in a quiet and beautiful quarter), the well equipped bathroom and that it was overall very clean. We stayed in the apartment for 6 people, it’s spacious and the beds are big enough for sharing if one is comfortable to sleep with a friend. Host very responsive and helpful. Would definitely come again :) PS: there is a cleaning fee for dogs that is not communicated in the English version app before booking, only after. At least we didn’t see it.

Walking from the lobby, each step felt like turning an old record. The mosaic floor tiles laid a vintage foundation, and the high-arched doorways diffused the light into a soft focus. Stained glass filtered colors onto the walls, overlapping with the silhouette of a gramophone. Musical score elements glimpsed casually in the hallway made me pause for a second look – the bones of this old building are still there, but they've been treated in a very contemporary way, making every casual photo look great. The room wasn't huge, but the layout was compact and neat. The Atelier Cologne toiletries had a healing scent, and a bath in the evening made for an overall comfortable stay. I especially want to mention Lilian and Nancy. From the detailed introduction at check-in to helping coordinate the room type, their responses were quick and their tone was pleasant. There wasn't that overwhelming, pushy enthusiasm; their professionalism was just right.

I stayed at the Home Inn (across from the famous Wukang Mansion) from July 13th to July 15th. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the reception team - they are true professionals! The staff are incredibly communicative, friendly, and always eager to help. They answer all questions promptly and solve any issues immediately. I especially want to mention the girl working the night shift, who was exceptionally helpful. Thanks to their assistance, I was able to easily extend my stay for an additional two nights. I really loved the hotel itself: it is clean, cozy, and very comfortable. A major advantage is the location; the hotel is situated in a very convenient and atmospheric area, right next to a lovely neighborhood that is perfect for strolling. I will definitely come back!

Place was great! In what seems like a residential building. Location was great, about a 10 min walk in both directions to 2 different metro stops, so many cute shops, cafes, and restaurants. Apartment itself was great, clean and spacious, had a lift which was super helpful with suitcases and such. Only thing to note - if you do any online ordering or need a specific address for packages, definitely copy one of the addresses off the packages that are already there, as the address given is a little off which caused some issues for us when trying to order from taobao. Overall, would definitely book again!

The overall hotel experience exceeded my expectations. The room was meticulously cleaned, with not a speck of dust even in the corners, and the toiletries were of good quality. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive, making the check-in process simple and quick. The surrounding area offers convenient transportation and a wide variety of dining options downstairs. It was quiet and peaceful, ensuring excellent sleep quality. The facilities were complete and well-maintained, offering outstanding value for money. My stay was relaxing and pleasant, making this hotel highly recommended. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again in the future.

Our group of six drove from Lishui, Zhejiang, to Shanghai for a concert. After unexpectedly securing tickets last minute, we urgently booked a hotel near the stadium. Most nearby options were either too small or overpriced, so by chance, we ended up at the Atour Xujiahui Jianyue Hotel near Shanghai Stadium. I've stayed at Atour hotels multiple times in Shenzhen and Hangzhou before, always having a good impression. I expected this to be just another standard business hotel, but this experience was a pleasant surprise. I communicated our arrival time (around 10 PM that night) with the front desk in advance and also requested a late checkout until 5 PM the next day. The staff readily accommodated and reserved our room, providing truly thoughtful service. Upon our late-night arrival, the parking lot was full. After calling the front desk, the staff enthusiastically helped us resolve the parking issue. During check-in, the staff attentively asked about our itinerary and even thoughtfully gave us concert merchandise, which was a very warm gesture. The room's cleanliness was perfect, featuring a comfortable Wabi-sabi style throughout, with new and complete facilities. The lighting, air conditioning, and curtains were all smart-controlled and easy to use. The room's tables and chairs were spacious, making it convenient for kids to do homework or for temporary work when traveling with children. Attention to detail was evident: the toothbrushes were just right in softness and very comfortable to use; the bathroom was equipped with disinfectant wipes, bath towels were individually packaged, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent, demonstrating high hygiene standards. Breakfast cost 49 yuan and offered a rich variety, including authentic Shanghai-style noodles, wontons, and more. The taste was excellent, and compared to hotels in the same price range, it offered exceptional value for money. Everyone in our group was very satisfied. The hotel is just an 8-10 minute walk from Shanghai Stadium. After the concert, walking back and forth meant we didn't have to worry about traffic or parking issues, highlighting its excellent location. Our stay cost between 800-900 yuan, which is clearly a great value compared to other accommodations in the same area and with similar room types, often priced at 1200 yuan or more. Whether for a business trip, a family vacation, or specifically to attend a performance, this hotel is highly recommended. This blind booking turned out to be a wonderful surprise!

This hotel is a hidden gem, a comfortable oasis tucked away in the city center. It's off the main road, so it's blissfully quiet and has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. It's incredibly convenient for medical visits, just a few minutes' walk to Ruijin Hospital, and Tianzifang is easily accessible on foot. The room was spotless and bright, absolutely no hygiene issues, which made for a very reassuring stay. The front desk staff were proactive, warm, and helpful, offering thoughtful guidance on nearby supermarkets and attractions. The breakfast was exceptional value for money – fresh, delicious, and with a great variety. Considering its location, the overall value for money is unbeatable.

This was my second stay, and I've successfully recommended it to my friends too. The hotel has its own garden and is housed in a building from the last century. Despite its age, the hygiene is excellent. The only downside was the showerhead. It's very quiet and super close to Hengshan Road Metro Station. There are several restaurants and cafes nearby, so you could easily spend a leisurely day just exploring the vicinity. All in all, I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai.
