Hotel Season Mito is a bit of a walk from Mito Station. To get there, exit the station, go downstairs past Sukiya, and follow the river. The room was clean, and the bathroom was a typical Japanese 3-in-1 unit. The front desk staff, an older gentleman, was very welcoming. In the evening, they offered complimentary sake and free popsicles, just like at Dormy Inn. It's also conveniently located near Kairakuen Garden and Senba Lake.
It was close to the sea and had a great view.
The welcome drink was delicious, and was made with amazake (sweet sake).
The staff were very kind and polite.
Dinner was a course meal, and the dishes were explained to us each time, and they were both delicate in appearance and very tasty.
There was also a stylish free space lounge, which was nice.
Breakfast was also very delicious, but perhaps because we came at a bad time, as there were many empty plates or plates with only a few left.
It was also a convenient distance for going to teamLab.
I stayed in Tsuchiura for an extended period, and the room was always clean, and the staff were wonderful. The coffee from the drip machine in the room was also delicious.
Typical Japanese service, the breakfast was quite good, and there's a bus stop right outside.
Oarai is named after the anime series ”Girls und Panzer” and is a popular tourist destination for many Japanese, especially Tokyo residents. Attractions include the torii gate at sunrise, Oarai Shrine, Oarai coast, Oarai Aquarium, Mentaiko Museum, and Oarai Ocean Tower—all great places for a relaxing outing.
The room is nice and clean. It's good that it's close to the station, and the location is good. There are convenience stores, lots of places to eat, and many izakayas. Is Mito a good place to travel?
Next to a mall. Convenient for meals. And some shopping . A pity there's no public bath. Coin laundry available. . Staff service is fine. Except when I checked in. I got a lady staff coughing non stop and trying to explain to me the check in details.. she was not wearing a mask. That's not nice and I was upset. But had to cover my nose and mouth with a tissue paper. As I was caught suddenly facing a coughing staff. And didn't have time to pull out my medical.mask.
Parking was convenient. Drive to the small parking space behind the hotel. And you will be guided to use the special car lift to park car. Don't need to use the public multi storey car park.next door.
I stayed with family and friends, and the environment was quite nice, with a bright and cheerful lobby. The seaside location ensures fresh air, and you can watch the sunrise with your family (watching the sun slowly rise from the sea 🌞). It's also convenient for getting around, with the nearest bus stop only a two or three-minute walk away. Highly recommended!
HOTEL R9 The Yard Joso is the perfect place to unwind after a day of travel or work.
At this hotel, you'll also find facilities including a vending machines.
A free parking lot is available at the property.
During Golden Week, our family of four (a first-grader and a 3-year-old) wanted one room, but there were no vacancies, so we stayed in two double rooms. The hotel staff were considerate and placed the rooms next to each other. The rooms were more than spacious enough for two people, including a child, and were very clean. We were told that breakfast was free for children sharing a bed, and we were impressed by the elaborate breakfast buffet with a wide variety of dishes—not just boiled sausages or grilled food. There were also ice pops in the large public bath on the first floor, which the children loved. We also received free snacks with coins at check-in, making it a very child-friendly hotel. Across the road, there's a McDonald's, a Bikkuri Donki, a drugstore, a 100-yen shop, and a Muji, so we didn't have any problems. It's a hotel we would like to stay at again when we visit Kashima.
The location is very good, about 1 minute walk from Shimokan Station, and it is a hotel with a high reputation from the guests who use the train. The price is relatively reasonable, and the cost performance is good despite the vicinity of the station. There is also a conspicuous voice that the staff was polite and helpful and able to stay with peace of mind. The plan with breakfast is often evaluated as a content that is sufficiently satisfactory considering the price, and the impression is that the cleaning is well done. On the other hand, there are some opinions that the buildings and facilities feel a little old, and there are few restaurants in the area. This hotel is suitable for business use with an emphasis on location and price.

GGuest UserAccess is excellent as it is right in front of the station rotary. This is probably the oldest hotel in this area.
Breakfast was delicious at the teppanyaki restaurant in the hotel.
I think it would be nice to have a USB power jack or charger these days.
GGuest UserThe hotel is walking distance from the station, that's why we chose it. Indeed, it is walking distance from the station, which made our trip super convenient. They have hand sanitizing alcohol at the entrances and outside elevators, which I like. The staff was nice and helpful. We did not get to try the food. It would have been nice if there were facilities or activities to wind down after a long day, but our room is very cozy and larger than the ones in Tokyo. I like that the room had a divider for the bed area and the living room area, and the TV could flip both sides too. I like that we had a sofa and a work table in the room, where we could eat snacks and prep for the day. The mirror on the table was particularly useful. I like that the bathroom has a separate section for the sink and for the toilet. I enjoyed their bathtub very much. The closet area is wide enough with enough hangers as well. Too bad I do not have pictures of the room, but it was nice getting to stay here!
AAnonymous UserThe receptionist's response was very good. There is a welcome drink. The amenities were solid and I was grateful that the washing machine and dryer were free of charge.
It's old, but it's clean.
Thank you.
GGuest UserService was very good. But hotel is old and not as clean as picture shows. But many many antiques in the lobby area.. .the carpeted area in the room needs to change. It feels dusty and like not vacuumed. The futons were ready ,rolled up at the side of the room. We jus unrolled them at bedtime. They have the smallest pillow I've seen after staying in hundreds of ryokans across Japan..
Their dinner is the best I've had . Very full meal. Lobster included and very delicious.
Breakfast was simple and good. With the important seasonal food . Meals in this ryokan is worth bragging about. Hotel can be better if some renovation is done to the soiled carpets and a good cleanup of the rooms..
Advantage of being able to leave car at the car park lot and walk 3mins to the nearby riverside garden..
The elderly couple running the ryokan were very friendly and helpful. Very kind people.

GGuest UserLike other Dormy Inns, it features well-maintained guest rooms and baths. Yonaki Soba is also served in the evening. Regarding the baths, the open-air bath was very popular, and while the space was somewhat cramped compared to its popularity, I made good use of it during my stay. There is also a manga room and massage chairs on the bath floor. The location is about a 15-minute walk from Mito Station, so it is a bit far from Mito's tourist attractions such as Kairakuen Garden.
GGuest UserThe staff were very nice, I had no difficulty checking in, and I received a free meal (frozen to put in the microwave). There is a Lawson just a block away. The room was very clean (no odor at all), much more spacious than I expected, and there were plenty of electrical outlets, even one next to the bed. There was an air purifier/humidifier and an AC/heating unit. Some people probably like the firmness of the bed, but I would have preferred it to be softer. I wished there was a reading lamp at the head of the bed.
FYI: There are steps to enter each room and a large step into the bathroom.
DDanielWe were extremely happy that we booked this place for the Tonegawa fireworks festival! This place was just 20 min walk to the riverbank where the event took place.
Despite being a container-style hotel the room is quite comfortable with a large bed for two and is equipped with all we need.
On the plus side, there was a microwave in the room and the large TV just made our nights more enjoyable.
The hotel offered a ”light snack” for breakfast, which literally was a frozen bento box with four options - wasn't the ideal for breakfast but was actually quite tasty.
