Guest UserMy stay at Shifang Sanyuan Zen Hot Spring was absolutely perfect, I have to rave about it! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere was so peaceful. The courtyard is tranquil and elegant, with Zen-inspired touches everywhere, making evening strolls incredibly relaxing. The private hot spring was clean and comfortable, with the water temperature just right. After a soak, I felt completely soothed and all my travel fatigue melted away. A special shout-out to the front desk lady – she was so kind and thoughtful. Check-in was fast and efficient, and she thoughtfully explained how to use the hot spring and suggested nearby attractions. She patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions, her service was truly heartwarming. The room was spotless, well-equipped, quiet, and peaceful. It’s also very close to Baoguo Temple, making it convenient for getting around. Overall, it’s excellent value for money, perfect for a relaxing getaway or a short vacation. I’ve already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back!

We stayed in Meishan for a week for a sporting event. The hotel has clearly seen better days—especially compared to many newer properties in the area (aging lifts, worn carpets, etc.). We chose it mainly for three reasons: breakfast, gym/pool, and laundry facilities.
1. Breakfast
The daily buffet was solid and met expectations. It featured a typical Chinese spread: hot stir-fried dishes, vegetables, meats, buns, dumplings, fried rice/noodles, porridge, plus a live station for dan dan noodles, eggs, and simple meats like sausage or ham. There was also a rotating Chinese dessert (e.g., red date with longan, green bean soup), along with some Western options like salad greens, yogurt, bread, cake, and fresh fruit.
Since we stayed a full week, we appreciated the small variations. That said, we were surprised by the limited fruit selection—mainly oranges and watermelon—especially given the abundance of fresh fruit available locally. Breakfast vouchers are issued daily and must be presented before dining.
2. Gym & Pool
This was the biggest disappointment. Both the gym and pool were completely closed, and the entire floor was gutted with no visible renovation activity. It looks like these facilities have been—and will be—out of service for quite some time. This was a major letdown, as it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.
3. Laundry
There is only one washer and one dryer for the entire building. We were concerned about availability, but only had to wait once. The 15-minute wash cycle helps with turnover. However, the dryer takes a long time and unfortunately shrunk all my cotton clothing. I’d recommend partially drying cotton items and then air-drying them in your room.
Package Perks
We booked through Trip.com, which included a small daily package: a plate with two oranges and some snacks, complimentary coffee or tea in the lobby, and a free transfer to the high-speed rail station (must be booked at the front desk one day in advance). There were also canned sodas included, which we didn’t use.
Room & Noise
We were initially assigned a room facing the plaza, which was very noisy. After requesting a change, we were first told the hotel was sold out—but after some persistence, a park-facing room was “found.” This room was significantly better: quiet, bright, and pleasant, with birdsong in the morning.
We were told these were actually an upgrade, and that road-facing rooms are even worse due to constant traffic noise.
4. Smart Room Features (“Xiao Du”)
We did enjoy the smart room system—“Xiao Du,” which works similarly to Alexa. It can control the curtains, TV, room temperature, and lighting, which is a nice modern touch. However, it was also a bit frustrating at times—for example, it would automatically turn off the lights in the bathroom sink area. The lighting there is already quite dim and not ideal for doing makeup.
It would be helpful if the hotel could improve lighting around the mirror (brighter bulbs would make a big difference), or even better, install a mirror by the writing desk near the window where there is natural light.
Smoking
Smoking is allowed in the hotel, and we did notice it in the lobby, elevators, and corridors. Thankfully, our room itself was fine. Housekeeping turns off the AC and opens windows when cleaning, which seems to help ventilate lingering smoke.
Location & Surroundings
The hotel is in a convenient area. A nearby park is lovely, with traditional structures and inscriptions related to the Su family. Within a short walk is a lively commercial plaza with restaurants, bubble tea shops, salons (I tried a newly opened nail salon), and more. Getting around via Didi is easy.
Overall
For the price, the hotel offers decent value. However, the closed fitness facilities were a major downside. If we return, we’d likely try a newer hotel—but this one works if you prioritize cost and location over amenities.

Guest UserThe front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, so they upgraded us to a deluxe room – a really nice touch! The breakfast was a delicious and plentiful buffet. The hotel also provided a convenient shuttle service to the scenic area, which was great, though it's worth noting they only offer drop-offs, not pick-ups. We had fantastic weather during our trip to Jiuzhaigou, perfect for sightseeing and photos. I'd definitely recommend visiting on a sunny day for the best pictures. There's a supermarket right across the street and the popular Lao Bing BBQ is just outside the entrance. I highly recommend this hotel!

Guest User✨ Five-star recommendation! Discovered a comfortable gem of a hotel.
Choosing the right hotel really elevates the happiness of the entire trip. ✅ The front desk was very responsive, had a gentle service attitude, and check-in was quick. The room was clean and odor-free, and the bed was super soft – after a tiring day, lying down on it instantly brought relaxation. Amenities were complete, and the hygiene was meticulously done.
The location offers convenient transportation and many choices nearby. Overall, it offers great value for money, and I felt very secure during my stay. I'll definitely come back again!

Anonymous UserThe hotel itself feels very old. Besides the Ibis-exclusive elevator, there are four or five other elevators, but they don't seem to be linked. You have to press the up or down button on each one, which makes waiting for an elevator very inconvenient.
The air conditioning in the room was also very noisy. I stayed for two nights and ended up with several bug bites on my legs – not mosquito bites – and they're still itching five days later.
The staff on the laundry floor were very nice. Seeing me doing laundry, they offered for me to leave a small card with my requests, and they would help dry and deliver it back to my room door.
The lobby staff were just okay. They were incredibly slow at getting things done. I was specifically asked about room preferences, and I only mentioned not wanting a room near the elevator, yet they assigned me one right next to and facing the elevator. I don't understand the point of asking for preferences then. On my second day, even though I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, they still called the room (and no, I hadn't ordered takeout, nor was I a robot). Also, I saw an advertisement at Shuangliu Airport for an SF Express collaboration with the hotel to help send luggage to the airport. When I asked the front desk, they said it used to be available but isn't anymore, and there was no luggage delivery service. I ended up calling myself and successfully arranged for my luggage to be sent to Shuangliu Airport.

Zhushishunli5678The room was clean and tidy, with a pleasant fragrance. The breakfast offered a rich variety of options. It's conveniently located close to Kuanzhai Alley, making it easy to get around. The front desk lady was beautiful and had an excellent service attitude. When we left, she even gave us cute panda headbands and bottled water, which made the whole experience fantastic.

The location is absolutely perfect, really close to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. I booked two room types in total: a twin standard room and a family room. Perhaps due to the prime location, the twin room wasn't huge, but the family room was quite spacious and even had a small play area for kids. The breakfast spread was also very diverse. Plus, there are so many delicious snacks around Chunxi Road! I'd definitely choose this place again next time, highly recommended!

I spent two nights at this beautiful hotel, on a visit to Emeishan with my girlfriend. It was an amazing experience! First of all, the pick-up from the train station by the hotel owner was really a welcome touch — he helped us greatly throughout our stay, making sure we had the best possible experience in Emeishan. The room itself was beautiful — amazing views from our own private balcony; a very tasteful, new and comfortable interior; impeccably clean; and a great selection of fruit, snacks, etc. in the room. A beautiful and convenient location too. The breakfast was really good — lots of dishes, and both days were different. It was lovely to sit on the balcony in the morning, looking out at mountains, eating a delicious breakfast and drinking coffee. I would highly recommend visiting Emeishan itself, and I think this hotel is the perfect base for a trip there — the next day, we visited Leshan giant Buddha (not far away by train), before returning to Chengdu in the evening. Overall, a great place to stay, and I definitely want to visit again!
