We booked a triple room, and while it was still quite small, it was enough for three girls. We could even open three 24-inch suitcases, though it made the aisle a bit crowded. The bathroom was actually pretty spacious. The room and beds were small, with not much storage space, so we ended up using the windowsill. The toiletries were L'Occitane, which was a nice touch! We took the 6015 airport bus directly to Gongde Station. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, several other hotels nearby, and if you walk a little further, you can get to Fritz Coffee. There are quite a few good food options around if you explore a bit. It's also close to the subway, so transportation is convenient.

A friend recommended this place. I'd say it's pretty average, but for the price, the facilities and room size are decent enough.

The 6017 airport bus drops you off right across from the hotel. (Definitely don't miss your stop! I went one stop too far and had to walk ages, it was exhausting).

There are indeed lots of food options nearby, on the other side, not too far. It's also close to the subway station.

However, perhaps because it's so close to the subway, you can hear the subway cars in the morning. (I know they've done a lot for soundproofing, but still). If you're a light sleeper, you might want to reconsider.

My room was assigned right next to the elevator (I wonder if it's because I checked in late 😩). In the middle of the night, you can hear the elevator and people moving around 😣. So, if you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest asking the front desk for a different room.

The most frustrating part was charging my devices – first time I've encountered this.

There was only one outlet by the bed 🔌 (only realized before going to sleep). And it was unstable! I don't know why, but it kept disconnecting even after I plugged it in. It was like I finally got it to connect, only for it to fall out again in the middle of the night – it almost gave me a heart attack. (I wish I had checked during a room tour, but I was too tired at the time to inspect anything).

Then there were two outlets by the desk, but they were too far from the bed.

One good thing was the toilet 🚽. It was heated and automatic, just like at home 👍.

The front desk staff were very helpful and assisted with calling a taxi (at the time, I couldn't get an Uber no matter what; it was really hard to get a cab to Hannam-dong, so frustrating. Maybe it was because it was evening 🤔). Their English was also very good, so communication wasn't an issue.

I guess this hotel would be very convenient if you're going to a concert at Gocheok Sky Dome (because my friend went there). But if you're going to a theater, it's probably better to choose a closer hotel.

We stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for 3 days and 2 nights, and later booked another 2 days and 1 night after our staycation at Nami Island.

• Front desk service: The staff spoke English well and were very accommodating. They kindly allowed us to store our luggage during our Nami Island trip since we had another booking at the same hotel.
• Room quality: The room was clean and spacious. However, I personally didn’t like the wooden floor—it felt a bit uncomfortable to walk on without room slippers.
• Location: The hotel is centrally located in the city, within walking distance to Bukchon Hanok Village and Gyeongbokgung Palace, and close to several subway stations.
• Food options nearby: Plenty of choices, from traditional Korean BBQ to fast food like Burger King. Just note that many restaurants close around 9–10 PM.


✨ Overall: A convenient city hotel with friendly staff, good service, and easy access to major attractions. The luggage storage service was especially helpful for our trip planning.

My stay at the Shilla Stay Samsung COEX Center was excellent from start to finish. The location is perfect, especially for business trips and shopping, with easy access to COEX Mall, restaurants, cafés, and the subway. The rooms were modern, spotless, and very comfortable, with great city views and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.

What truly stood out was the professionalism and kindness of the staff. Check-in was smooth, and everyone was always helpful and welcoming. The breakfast selection was also very good, with a nice mix of Korean and international options.

The hotel offers great value for money considering the quality, cleanliness, and prime location in Gangnam. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul for business or leisure.

From the moment I stepped inside, a gentle warmth seemed to wrap around me, like a soft blanket on a cool evening. The air carried a subtle scent of fresh flowers, mingling with the faint aroma of brewed coffee from the nearby café. Friendly smiles from the staff greeted me instantly, their attentive gestures making me feel both welcome and cared for. Soft lighting spilled across comfy seating areas, casting a golden glow that invited long moments of relaxation. Outside the windows, the bustling street was close enough to feel lively but far enough to preserve a sense of calm. The combination of this serene atmosphere, thoughtful service, and its perfectly convenient location created an experience that felt both effortless and deeply satisfying.

The hotel is clean and tidy, located right off the main road, making it very convenient for getting to Gangnam. There are many small, affordable restaurants around the hotel, which is great! If you're coming from Incheon Airport, you can take bus 6703 or 6020; just get off and cross the street. The last bus runs until 10:55 PM. The hotel provides free travel adaptors which you can pick up at the front desk. Most of the front desk staff speak English.

Location is very convenient, just next to Seodaemun station exit 7 or 8.  By going across the road (where Lotteria Burger is) and walk along the way in the right, will go to see many small eateries. Slightly further down there is a market selling local foodstuff, including raw ingredients (though not for tourists, but nice to see them to feel the local lifestyle). Overall experience in Shilla Stay is good, recommended. A place not too crowded but not far from busy place like Seoul station, Myeondong, Dongdaemum, etc etc

Five-star price for three-star amenities, I'd say.

We booked a sea-view family room. The first night, the view was great; you opened the curtains right onto the ocean. The second day, we returned from an outing around 8 PM, and when we opened the door, the bathroom had a terrible sewage smell. The staff were very nice about it; we packed up our bags that night and moved to a different room. This one overlooked the pool. They gave us four coffee vouchers, bringing the total to six, including the ones we got at check-in. These vouchers were only good for Americano or bayberry juice at the hotel coffee shop. After settling into the new room, we found the air conditioning wasn't cooling. I didn't dare unpack. I reported it to the front desk, and again, their attitude was excellent; they sent someone to fix it right away. After the repair, it still wasn't cooling. I told the front desk again. They said their system showed the temperature was dropping and asked us to wait a bit longer. By this time, it was past 10 PM, and the kids were getting sleepy, so we just unpacked and showered. After our showers, the maintenance staff came again, worked on it for a long time, and then told us we'd have to move rooms again. I was furious! It was almost midnight, and we had to pack up again and move to a family room with bunk beds, still overlooking the pool. Finally, I proactively asked for four breakfast vouchers, and they were very polite and didn't hesitate to give them to us. At around 5 AM, I was woken up by a bird pecking at the window. I couldn't shoo it away; it would leave for a bit and then come right back. It was so annoying I just had to laugh.

1. **Location is divine, a shopper's paradise!**
    The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Yeon-dong. Step out and cross the street, and you're right on Baojian Road Pedestrian Street, bustling with coffee shops, black pork BBQ restaurants, and Olive Young stores. Shilla Duty Free Shop is a mere 3-minute walk away, and Lotte Duty Free is a 10-minute stroll. This means you can easily drop off your purchases at the hotel instead of lugging them around. Getting to the airport by taxi takes only 10 minutes, and there's a bus stop right outside for super convenient access to Aewol and Seongsan. Plus, there's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, so you can grab water, snacks, or a universal adapter anytime you need.

2. **Clean and well-equipped**
    The overall decor is a minimalist Korean light luxury style. The entire room is meticulously cleaned daily, and bedding and towels are changed promptly.

3. **Travel amenities make life easy**
    The top floor boasts a buffet breakfast restaurant offering a wide array of Western, Chinese, and Korean dishes. Seafood porridge, gimbap, toast, and various fruits are plentiful – perfect for a filling meal before heading out to the duty-free shops. The hotel also offers airport pick-up reservations and large luggage storage, making it ideal for short trips for couples or friends traveling together.

    **However!** The overall room space is quite small. The basic room type isn't very spacious, and if you have two large 28-inch suitcases, the aisle becomes very cramped once they're open, leaving no extra moving space. It can feel a bit tight for multiple people with a lot of luggage. It's fine for solo travelers or couples traveling light, but I wouldn't recommend the basic room for families. The shower only allows you to stand in the bathtub; there's no separate shower area.

    **Bathroom lacks a separate shower area:** You have to step into the bathtub to shower. With only a half-height glass panel to block water, powerful water pressure can easily splash water onto the floor, leading to puddles after showering. The anti-slip properties aren't great, and long-haired women might find it difficult to move around comfortably while washing their hair. For those who prioritize dry-wet separation, proceed with caution.

Facilities: There's a gym available, and you can pay extra for breakfast and lunch. The lunch here is surprisingly good and much more cost-effective than eating out, especially compared to a BBQ meal. The entire hotel looks very new and fresh, making it a pleasant stay.

Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy, which made for a very comfortable experience. It's a bit far from the city center, but that has its advantages – it's incredibly quiet, perfect for a business trip. There are plenty of food options nearby; you can find everything just by walking around downstairs. I only had BBQ once in four days, but I explored the area multiple times.

Service: Everyone greets you with 'Ari-ari-assayo.' The front desk staff don't speak Chinese, but they all speak English. A lovely lady at the Chinese restaurant speaks excellent Chinese. Bed linen and towels were changed promptly. Overall, the service was great.

I was satisfied with cleanliness until the last day when I noticed that my sheets had what seemed like dried blood on them.

Location is amazing but that’s also why it’s a popular choice for tourists. Getting an elevator from 8-10am and 6-8ish was rough. But loved the location! 

Service is average, nothing to complain about but nothing exceptional either which is not a bad thing at all.

Pleased with the hotel amenities fitness centre but the room amenities seemed like it was setup with just the bare minimum.  Would have been nice to have a larger mirror outside the bathroom or even have a light for the small mirror inside the cabinet. Fridge was very small - could not fit takeout containers without turning them sideways. Shampoo, conditioner and body products all seemed pretty cheaply made. Shampoo didn’t even foam up and conditioner felt no different than hand soap. 
We’re at a different hotel now and after using their products for one night my hair actually seems healthier than when I was back home.
