JJaneCI chose this hotel mainly for its location, and it certainly didn't disappoint! It's not far from the entrance to Central Street, and very close to Hongzhuan Street and St. Sophia Cathedral. There are also many of my favorite restaurants nearby. Just a few minutes' walk and you're at Laoeqiao (Old Russian Emigrant Culture Street). The ice and snow festival lights are already up on Central Street!
The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, always ready to answer questions, and provided prompt service! The room was very new, the heating was excellent, and both the hot water and mattress were comfortable. The room was also bigger than I expected. Breakfast was pretty good, with hot dishes cooked in small pots, which felt like a nice touch. I've already recommended this hotel to my friends and feel like I'll choose it again next time I visit!

MM13780****Clean, and the front desk service was excellent; Dora was very helpful and enthusiastic! The room facilities and details were well thought out, with a medium-firm Mousse mattress and two types of pillows! It's a shame I didn't take any photos of the room.
The people of Harbin are very warm, and I'll definitely be back. A special mention to the touching subway advertisements advocating for stray animals.

MM247205****Service: This aspect deserves all the stars it can get; I'm incredibly satisfied. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and patient. They even gave us a cake when they heard it was our anniversary. The welcome fruit… I've never seen such a generous welcome fruit platter, it was like a still-life painting… The service truly felt like a warm winter sunbeam during our journey.
Oh, and I didn't have time for the complimentary afternoon tea, but they arranged for me to have it after check-out… The free travel photography service was also quite good.
Cleanliness: Normal, nothing to complain about.
Environment and Facilities: I'll discuss these two together. I gave 5 points, fully considering that this is a century-old building, so the hardware is indeed limited… The soundproofing… well, I could vaguely hear some disagreements between what sounded like a mother and daughter next door… but it wasn't persistent and didn't affect our sleep, so I'll let that slide.
The heating was definitely not cold, but there was a slight difference compared to what I understand as standard indoor heating in Harbin…
However, I also know there's not much you can do, as we came specifically for this century of history…
If I have time, I'd love to visit again in the summer; the climbing vines in the backyard should look beautiful.

🧼 The room is clean and fresh everyday. Only way to make your room colder is to open the window.
🥘 Breakfast is not diversify. Only Chinese cuisine is available. With mostly pork for the main ingredient. Vegetarian option are also available too.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, The location is great. You can access many malls nearby and about 20 yuan away if you use Didi from the hotel to Zhongyang Walking Street

MM760246****Highly recommend for anyone planning a trip to Snow Valley! Nan Nan Homestay has an unbeatable location, incredibly close to the ski resort. After a tiring day of skiing, you can just turn around and head back to rest. The owner is a local and an excellent guide, providing professional service. The attraction tickets they helped us book were cheaper than online, and they even arranged free shuttle service within the scenic area, so we didn't have to lug our luggage around. The rooms are well-equipped with private bathrooms and complimentary toiletries. The large kang bed can accommodate 2-4 people, making it perfect for family trips or traveling with friends. The 'tie guo dun' (iron pot stew) and 'guo bao rou' (sweet and sour pork) at the restaurant are super authentic, with fresh and flavorful ingredients – incredible value for money. We loved our stay so much, we didn't want to leave!

The room was very clean and quiet, and the bathroom was spacious. The housekeeping staff were also very responsible. 🛌 Room & Amenities: Clean, Modern, and High-Tech
The room was spotlessly clean, and the accommodation itself felt very new. All basic amenities were provided, including a refrigerator. We stayed in a four-bed room, and the value was incredible: the full price was 5,000 THB, but we used a discount code and only paid around 2,800 THB. This was extremely good value for money
!
The in-room amenities were quite high-tech. We could control the curtains with a switch right next to the bed. The room was equipped with both a heater and an air conditioner, a hairdryer, and a dedicated clothes rack suitable for hanging coats.
👩💼 Staff: Friendly and Helpful
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Since I could speak some Chinese, I was able to communicate relatively well with them. For any words or phrases that were unclear, Google Translate was a huge help and smoothed out the communication process.
🚿 Bathroom: Cleanliness and Comfort
The bathroom was very clean. The toilet featured a heated seat, which was a nice touch, especially in the cold weather—no cold surprises! However, the high-tech flush system might be a bit tricky to operate for those who are not familiar with technology-heavy systems.
📺 Entertainment & Rest: Great Comfort After a Long Day
The room featured a very large digital TV with a variety of channels to watch. After a tiring day of walking and sightseeing, we could come back and rest fully. The sleep quality was excellent; I felt completely recharged after just six hours of sleep because the bed was so comfortable and spacious.
If you needed anything extra, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, or towels, the staff were happy to provide them upon request.
⭐️ Overall Experience: Impressive and Convenient
Overall, I was very pleased and impressed with my stay. This includes the helpful staff, the breakfast area, and the food itself. The breakfast was delicious, flavorful, not bland, and not overly greasy.
We were also able to store our luggage at the lobby after check-out, provided we picked it up later that same day.
If I have the chance to visit Harbin again, I will definitely stay here. The location is right in the heart of the city, close to the main tourist attractions, many of which are within easy walking distance.

The Sun Island Castle Hotel, located on the scenic banks of the Songhua River, boasts a charming European architectural style. The first floor is home to various small eateries, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the hotel guest rooms. From the third floor, you can directly access the cross-river cable car, and the fourth floor houses the Chocolate Castle Museum. This museum features an incredibly diverse collection of chocolates, and outside, there's an observation deck – a superb spot to admire the Songhua River's night view.
The hotel's location is excellent, offering incredibly convenient transportation. Besides the cable car, you can also take a cruise ship across the river. The sightseeing bus also stops here, making it easy to visit all the attractions on Sun Island, with the freedom to hop on and off as you please.
This time, I stayed in the most affordable ”Viscount Interior Room.” The room was spacious and well-equipped, with furnishings that truly captured the grand essence of a castle. The only minor drawback was the lack of a window, meaning I couldn't enjoy the natural scenery outside – a small regret.
It's worth noting that, compared to the opulent guest rooms, the hotel's front desk seemed a bit understated. The small reception counter is tucked away in a corner on the first floor, which felt a little out of sync with the ”Chocolate Castle” theme. Personally, I suggest designing the front desk in the shape of chocolate and having the reception staff wear more distinctive attire. Wouldn't that better align with the magical theme of this place?
Overall, this was a surprisingly delightful stay, highly recommended for those who appreciate unique hotels.
