Attractions like Baotu Spring are right nearby, and there's a shopping mall across the street and Daming Lake, making sightseeing very convenient. My stay happened to coincide with my birthday, and the hotel proactively arranged gifts, flowers, a cake, and a birthday light board. It made me feel so warm, and their reputation is truly well-deserved! š

As I'm from Germany and don't have a Chinese phone, I couldn't get online. The staff went above and beyond, helping me set up internet access on my phone. They even provided me with a delicious breakfast free of charge!
The hotel room was spacious, clean, and came with a super comfortable large bed.
I traveled from Germany to Jinan for surgery, and being able to return to the hotel for a good rest after my operation was a huge relief!
Today, at check-out, they even gave me a lovely pastry as a farewell gift!
Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality! I hope to have the opportunity to visit Jinan again and stay at your hotel once more!

According to Trip.comās grading system, The Madison Hotel is listed as a Trip Plus 4-star hotel, but based on our recent stay, we believe it falls short of that rating. While we had a mostly pleasant experience, there were noticeable issues that prevent us from agreeing with the 4-star classification.
The Positives
- Check-in & Staff: The reception team was friendly, and one staff member could communicate a little in English, which was helpful.
- Room Comfort: Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and allowed individual adjustment.
- Amenities: We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters and two soft drinks restocked daily in the fridge.
- Location: The hotel is conveniently located inside Wanda Mall, making shopping and dining easily accessible.
The Negatives (Why Itās Not 4-Star)
- Cleanliness Issues: The room wasnāt cleaned to a 4-star (or even 3-star) standard. We found nail clippings on the bedside mat, indicating poor vacuuming.
- Shower Water Pressure: The water pressure in the shower was quite low, which was inconvenient.
- Breakfast Limitations: While the Asian food options were good, there were very few Western choices. Additionally, the Western cutlery felt sticky and wasnāt properly cleaned.
- Staff Sleeping at Reception: On our second morning, when we tried to check out early, the reception staff were asleep on the couches. We understand they may have been exhausted, but this is unprofessional for a 4-star hotel.
Final Verdict
The Madison Hotel is a decent option, but weād rate it as a solid 3-star hotel, not 4-star. If you prioritize location and comfort over luxury service and cleanliness, itās a reasonable choice. However, management should address housekeeping and staff training to meet higher standards.
Would we stay again? Possibly, but with adjusted expectations.

GGuest UserEnvironment: It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the Laotun subway station, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: The room is spacious, clean and tidy, and you can see that it is cleaned frequently.
I soaked in the bathtub after a tiring day, which was very comfortable š, and I felt that every pore was taken care of.
Service: I checked in at almost 11 o'clock in the evening. The waiter was very friendly and not impatient at all.
When I entered the room, I saw the prepared snacks. People who like to eat midnight snacks said it was very heartwarming š„°
Facilities: The do not disturb function in the room is really great. I can sleep until the sun rises the next day. It's really great.
Once the curtains are drawn, no one loves them. The airtightness is great.
When I left, the souvenirs I was given included masks. Tears welled up in my eyesš„¹. I didn't expect there would be so many catkins in Jinan when I came here, so I didn't prepare them. I didn't expect the hotel to be so considerate and prepare them. When I arrived near Baotu Spring, there were as many catkins as the wind. Thanks to the hotel for providing themš·š„³
I will come to this hotel again next time I come to Jinan. The bed is very comfortable and everything is great. I don't want to leaveš

OOtautahianThis hotel is about a 15 minute walk south of Ji'nan West station, so is a good choice if you want to stay near the station, but is quite far from the tourist attractions in the city center.
My room was big and quiet, and the laundry room and gym were large and very secure.
I gave the service full marks in this review because although there was a small incident, the two reception staff I talked to werw very courteous, and one later came to my room with some consolation gifts as a sign of good faith š
