"Overall the room was very nice and clean (besides a few old stains on the sheets). The beds were too hard, but the Chinese seem to enjoy sleeping on a rock so I can't fault them for that. The only real issue was the shower which was always either too hot or too cold. The main reason I chose to write this review was our hostess who was an absolute peach. For a China-lady her English was great and she was incredibly helpful and patient with us when we had difficulty understanding the translations from WeChat and she made our stay very comfortable. Overall I'd highly recommend staying here."

"We had a wonderful stay. From a free pick up at the station to the free drop off, our hosts could not have done more for us during the stay. Our room was a good size and had a great view of the river from the balcony. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. Breakfast was beautifully presented, very tasty and definitely filling. The Homestay was perfect as a base to explore the Ancient City. Whilst not in the centre of the action, it was only a 5 minute stroll to the first key bridge. We were actually very pleased not to be closer as the pubs and clubs nearer Hong Bridge were really noisy! All in all, we had a great stay and thank our hosts for being so welcoming."

The food ordered from the hotel's restaurant was the best we had during our entire stay. Our dedicated butler was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making us feel truly at home. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer lovely views, and the air is fresh. The room itself was clean, well-appointed, and the hotel's facilities were excellent, with tasteful decor that perfectly complemented the ancient town. It was a truly worthwhile trip. "I think this is probably the best hotel in the ancient town. I didn't pay much attention to other hotels, but I always check Atour first when I travel. The front desk staff were all very nice. Our high-speed train was canceled due to the typhoon, and we had booked two nights but needed to cancel one at the last minute. They processed the refund without any issues and with a great attitude. Atour is always my first choice ❤️"

The butler service was exceptional; they answered all our questions thoroughly and even helped us with our luggage. They also gave us a parting gift. Our room was spacious and clean, and our river view king room offered a great view of the Tuojiang River. It was very quiet at night, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. While the breakfast selection wasn't vast, the rice noodles were delicious and had a great chewy texture. I highly recommend this guesthouse."

"The balcony of our room overlooked the river, and it was peaceful and quiet at night. The hotel is right in the heart of the ancient city, which was incredibly convenient. We arrived by high-speed train, and the housekeeper contacted us early to arrange a car to pick us up. There's no Didi (ride-hailing app) in Fenghuang Ancient City, so this really solved our transportation problem – it was a huge plus! We had a lot of luggage, and the housekeeper actively helped us carry it; they were so warm and thoughtful. They even turned on the air conditioning for us in advance, which was super heartwarming. This was the first time I truly felt the difference between staying in a B&B and a standard hotel; this one has a real warmth to it. The room was very clean, the toilet and bathroom had no strange odors, and the blankets were spotless. The balcony was exactly what we envisioned, and we spent the evening as a family, sipping tea and enjoying the views of the Tuojiang River – the experience was absolutely perfect. They even gave us a gift when we checked out, which was an amazing value. We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit!"

"This isn't a huge hotel, with only about 50 rooms, but the design is absolutely stunning, and you can tell by the details that a lot of thought went into the decor. The fourth-floor terrace offers views of the ancient city, and the infinity pool, lit up at night, perfectly complements the old town, making for some truly fantastic photos. The service here is truly exceptional; you don't have to lift a finger for anything. Once you arrive, you're added to a small group chat where staff can help you book tickets, arrange car rentals, and essentially fulfill all your travel needs. One minor point for improvement: during cleaning, the mirror behind the door might get obscured when the door is open, so it occasionally gets missed during wiping. This could be improved upon."
