"The hotel towers over Almaty and is a real cultural landmark. Despite its age, it was recently and tastefully renovated. Our room was on the 17th floor. It was spotlessly clean, the air conditioning worked well and the bed was super comfortable. The water pressure was superb. We also appreciated having an empty fridge, as well as having a large bottle of water delivered daily as part of a turndown service. The breakfast was phenomenal, it offered a wide selection of food and was never too crowded. However, we lost two nights of sleep due to excessive noise coming from the nearby pool bar. There were parties on both Friday and Saturday, blasting club music until 3 AM. After approaching the front desk, they were apologetic but seemed disinterested in rectifying the issue. I also tried contacting the general manager, but received no reply. Reading the reviews, this did not seem like an isolated incident, and you should reconsider your stay if you are a light sleeper."

"«Excellent apartment with a great view and a caring host!» We stayed in this complex (Raiymbek district), and everything was perfect. The host explained everything very thoroughly and clearly: she sent us the PIN codes for all the doors, the geolocation, and the Wi-Fi passwords. Check-in was smooth, even with the language barrier – she communicated in both Russian and English. Apartment 120-2 (12th floor) is amazing! The view from the window is stunning, everything is very clean, and it has a modern renovation. The bed is comfortable, and the air conditioning works. Overall, the stay was very comfortable, and you feel safe (intercoms, codes). I will definitely come back!"

"An excellent surprise. The room was particularly spacious, comfortable, and very well-appointed. The hotel itself has a real charm and history, which gives it a unique atmosphere. Its location is another major asset: it's right in the city center, just a stone's throw from the subway, making it easy to get everywhere on foot or by public transport. We didn't try the breakfast, but for everything else, it was faultless. Given the services offered, the value for money is excellent."

"I hope that in the future there will be clearer signage reminding guests to use the provided tongs and serving spoons when taking food from the buffet, or that staff can occasionally monitor the buffet area to ensure proper hygiene. Unfortunately, I completely lost my appetite after seeing some guests, specifically Indians, using their bare hands to take food, despite the serving utensils being readily available. I also noticed other guests looking on with visible discomfort. It was an unpleasant and unhygienic experience that detracted from what is otherwise a very nice 4-star hotel. In addition, the dining area was affected by a mix of very strong perfume and noticeable body odor from some guests, which made the breakfast experience even more unpleasant. While I understand the hotel cannot control personal grooming, maintaining a comfortable dining environment is important. I hope this issue can be addressed to help maintain the hygiene standards and dining experience that guests expect."

"I really liked this hotel. It's new, and the breakfasts were great, with new dishes appearing every day. I especially appreciated that they make oatmeal to order – I tried the oat porridge and enjoyed it. It was also nice to get a proper-sized cup of good coffee from the machine, unlike the tiny cups you often find elsewhere. However, for other beverages, I would have preferred actual glass cups instead of mugs. The room itself was good, new, and a decent size. I don't usually watch TV, but I was pleasantly surprised to find Kinopoisk (a Russian streaming service) available, so I actually watched something. In the bathroom, there was shampoo and shower gel. I didn't find any hair conditioner, or maybe I just missed it. I would have liked a soap dish for the soap and a cup for the kids, though they did provide a loofah. Upon request, an iron was brought to my room very quickly. If you have a suitcase, they'll help you carry it up and down the stairs and even take it to your taxi. If I visit again, I'd most likely choose this hotel. The value for money and the newness are excellent."

"The room was exactly as described. For the location, you can show the taxi driver the address written in Kazakh on the 'directions card' to find it. The owner is Chinese, so they can help with many things, which was great. Unfortunately, we missed the 8-9 AM breakfast. The biggest advantage here is definitely its proximity to the airport, especially for early morning or late night flights – you can get there in twenty minutes without traffic. The front desk has bottled water you can take to boil and drink. It's pretty similar to hotels near airports in China. Just a heads up, the hotel is on the second floor and there's no elevator, so you'll need to carry your luggage up."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The service was excellent, both at the front desk and during breakfast. Housekeeping was fantastic; they consistently replenished slippers and dental amenities. Since I was traveling alone, they provided two bottles of fresh water daily. A bathrobe was also included. Breakfast offered a good variety, and everything was delicious. They even had national sweets, which was a nice touch. I tried the spa and jacuzzi. Overall, it was okay, but the jacuzzi water was heavily chlorinated, leaving my hands very dry afterward. There was no hand cream in the room, which would have been a great addition. While the hotel isn't right in the city center, the location is still convenient. It's a 10-minute walk to the metro station, and Arbat Street, a popular pedestrian street, is nearby."

"Perfect stay at the Novotel city centre, upon checking in Armand at reception noticed it was my daughter’s birthday few days ago so he gave my daughter & son as toy gift which was very sweet! The hotel has decent clean rooms & it’s in the perfect location, the Koke tobe cable carts are next door & Dostyk mall is a 15mins walk away. The hotel had a great breakfast spread with fresh pastries and a variety of food choices, lunch & dinner menu can be improved a little but still ok it just has a limited variety. Unfortunately, the pool & spa was under maintenance so was not open so we couldn’t use. Also thanks to Armand we got a late check out for both our rooms! A very nice jolly chap!"

"I was extremely satisfied with my stay in Almaty! The hotel decor was very tasteful, and the facilities were complete and new. The staff spoke fluent English, were warm and considerate, and even proactively recommended local food routes. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly until morning. It offers great value for money, and I would choose to stay here again next time I visit!"
