"Visited Colombo during off-peak season so we managed to visit the city with less crowd. Views from any sea-facing room is incredible for its price - slight blocking with 2 towers in front but you can get a better unblocked view if you go for Premium tier rooms. I have to commend reception staff Anjala, who managed upsell me a Premium Seaview Room from a Superior Seaview Room. He took the time to explain the differences between each tier, accommodated to my budget constraints, and brought me to each room (empty ones of course) for a viewing before committing to an upgrade. After hearing that I was there on honeymoon (my husband would only arrive later), he relayed that to the rest of the team who took care of us wonderfully throughout our 4-day stay. Overall, room is clean and roomy, perfect for business calls with fast and reliable in-room wifi. Only downside is their TV doesn't have Netflix or Airplay, only Miracast for Android/Windows users. Tip for travellers: tell your driver this used to be Movenpick hotel - they will know where to drop you off."

"Located at the most central avenue of Colombo has very nice view to the Indian Ocean, particularly from the rooftop garden and swimming pool, which probably is the largest in Asia. I was in this garden in 2018 and now is like a roof forest. The gym is well equipped and with panoramic view. The hotel is at the top of the mall, the dream of my wife. Every hour there was a shuttle to a tropical beach just outside Colombo. We did also the complementary half day tour to the city that was well organized. Excellent service and comfort."

"Nice rooms, good location, and the staff was very friendly. Good business hotel, but also good for couples and families. Although the booking said ”ocean view”, didn't get a ”full ocean view” room. However, there was a nice view of the city and a partial view of the ocean which was unobstructed. Standard cleanliness and amenities. You have to specifically tell the housekeeping team if you want the bed linens changed. Wi-Fi is a bit jittery and requires you to log in every day for some weird reason, but speed is okay too. Breakfast buffet is nice with a standard spread of local vs continental. Egg hoppers are a bliss, and they'll make yours fresh every morning. Food at the restaurant/lounge is average, but they make a good Long Island Ice Tea at the bar. I was unable to attend breakfast as I had an early flight, requested the front desk to swap out the breakfast for a club sandwich at 3am, they were able to do that. The staff are overall nice and friendly, except for one guy at the reception who for some reason took 1000LKR for a replacement key and didn't want to give me a receipt for it. They also didn't give me a hotel invoice during check-out and said I will have to collect it from Trip.com. While I do have the invoice from Trip.com I found it as standard practice in most other hotels to share a copy of the invoice during checkout."

BBryan HO travel round the worldValue for money. We booked a room with breakfast and dinner. The dinner and breakfast were western style buffet with some variety of non spicy dishes. Our room is a sea view room and can see sunset. A small swimming pool at the roof.

GGuest UserThe Den 23 is a perfect place to stay. The owner is very helpful and goes into detail when explaining and recommending places to visit. He also provides you with a leftlet that has some basic sinhala words. The roof top bar has an amazing view of the city. The staff is helpful and I'll recommend this place if you want to go around Colombo with little effort.

GGuest UserWe feel welcome upon check in. The room is very clean and very spacious. The reception staff help attend to all our queries promptly and assist us with our transport arrangement. Also help us with our luggages to and fro our room and to our car. Bed is comfortable, aircon is cold and hot shower is good. Room has WiFi and TV. Hot water for coffee and tea are located in the kitchen area . Free water from the water dispenser in the kitchen There is central ironing available outside the rooms for sharing. Washroom is very spacious, modern and well maintained with wet and dry area. Toilet roll, towels, Shower gel, hand soap and shampoo are provided. Breakfast is simple buffet with cereals with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, omelette with chicken sausage, coffee, tea and juice. The location is next to the main road at the outskirts of the city but is near many shops and a small train station. Overall very comfortable nice rest and breakfast with great staff. Great hospitality

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean – it felt like stepping into a brand-new space. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. What really stood out was the service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. Even after I checked out at 12:00 PM, they kindly allowed me to leave my luggage at the hotel until my airport transfer – a thoughtful gesture that made my travel day so much easier. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, cozy stay with top-notch hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

GGuest UserBerjaya Hotel is a grand entrance. Feels like premium hotel and is best for the people who want to explore the beach. The view from the hotel was very serene, waking up to the sight of beach is amazing. The train passes by every few minutes which might be a nuance if you like absolute quiet environments. There are restraunts and bars nearby on the beach which is a 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It was strange to find a lack of amenities in the room like toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers. I had a walk a couple of kilometres to find a shop to buy slippers before I could take a shower and relax after a long flight. The staff was very helpful during the checkin and checkout process helping me carry my luggage even at 4am in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was also delightfully diverse with a mix of Desi, Continental and Srilankan dishes. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I hope the hotel management can add to the amenities so the international travellers can have a more comfortable stay.
