Colombo Hotels with balcony

We had a wonderful stay at The Kingsbury Colombo. The hotel is elegant, clean, and very well maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a beautiful view, making our stay even more enjoyable.

We once again extend our warmest greetings to the 'Jetwing family'. The philosophy of the hotel is palpable everywhere. All staff members made us feel welcome and were always accommodating to our individual needs. Chathurika also frequently checked in on us. Furthermore, the hotel's furnishings are exceptionally aesthetic and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Location is great, just beside One Galle Face Mall. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around. Beautiful sunset views (from the bar, pool, restaurant, lobby) and Galle Face opposite the road. Rooms are gorgeous and spacious. Checked in Dec 30-Jan 2 peak season. Hotel was fully booked. Waited in the lobby for my room to be ready upon check-in. Front desk said they will find me to let me know. Waited for more than an hour before I asked them again and told me that my room has been ready. Ordered some room service which took more than an hour to be delivered. Granted they told me that it may take about 50 minutes because it was peak hours. Upon delivery they told me it was comped because of the long wait. Pool, restaurant, and bar staff are all great. Very personable and accommodating. Loved the sky pool on the 31st floor. No bar but not as crowded as the main pool. Breakfast was great. A lot of choices. Asian selection is great. Pastries not so much, some didn’t seem fresh. Heard from some staff that it gets super busy from around 9 but didn’t experience any long wait. Plenty of tables to accommodate people. Overall a great experience and will definitely stay here again if I’m in Colombo.

The hotel is close to the sea, but buildings block the view, so you can't really see it. It's very close to the mini-train along the coast, and there are supermarkets and malls nearby, which is quite convenient. I arrived two hours early, and they allowed me to check in ahead of time. While I waited, they even offered me a glass of juice. Surprisingly, they didn't charge me the extra $3+ that I was supposed to pay on-site (I reminded the staff, but after checking, they told me it wasn't necessary). I booked a two-meal package, both buffets. The dinner selection seemed less extensive than breakfast, perhaps because fewer people booked it. A bit of a mix-up happened because I wasn't told the dining times, so I went for dinner before 7 PM. The restaurant was completely empty. Later, I saw on a screen that dinner apparently starts at 7 PM, but the staff member just let me in without explanation – which honestly gave me a very good feeling about their service. The room was spacious, and the type I booked surprisingly had two beds pushed together to form a super-king size. The soundproofing with the next room was pretty good; the people next door were playing music from check-in until after 10 PM, but I could only hear a faint sound once the street quieted down. That's acceptable. Sometimes the street noise was quite noticeable, but my tolerance for ambient street noise is higher than my tolerance for noise from neighboring rooms. The pool is on the top floor, and so is the restaurant. As an introvert, I'm not a big fan of this design. Overall, the stay was quite comfortable and offered excellent value for money.

It is impossible to cook on the stove, there is no microwave. - The furniture in the living room has an unpleasant smell and is dirty; - The iron board is dirty; - The curtains need to be changed; Reception: + They are polite; + Check-in was quickly; Restaurant (breakfast and dinner): + The quality of the products is high; + Variety of dishes; + The chefs are great; - There are a lot of guests on Saturday and Sunday due to the holidays, the priority for hotel guests is falling; Guards and butlers: + They seemed competent and friendly to me; + The rest of the staff are friendly and polite; Swimming pool: + Good view; + The kids liked it;

Hotel Nippon Colombo offers a decent stay with a few hits and misses. The rooms were okay — fairly clean, but could use some updating in terms of decor and maintenance. Service was polite but a bit slow at times, and certain amenities felt a little dated. That said, the food was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant really impressed us with flavorful Sri Lankan dishes and a variety of options that felt authentic and well-prepared. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, the meals consistently stood out and were the highlight of the stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The service staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel environment was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. I especially loved the garden area, the swimming pool, and the stunning beach views. Waking up to the ocean view from my room was an amazing experience. Even the washroom was well-maintained and offered a great view, which made the stay feel even more special. What impressed me the most was the genuine hospitality of the staff. They made me feel welcome throughout my stay and paid attention to every detail to ensure my comfort. Overall, I would rate my experience 10/10. Everything—from the location and facilities to the service and atmosphere—was simply perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Sri Lanka.

I booked this hotel on August 8 and received a confirmation. However, when I arrived at around 9 PM on August 15, the hotel had no record of my booking under my name. It was a really frustrating experience – especially after a long day of travel. I contacted Trip.com customer service immediately, and they worked on it, but unfortunately they couldn't secure a room for me at this property. I had to find another hotel last minute that night. The good news: Trip.com has already reached out to me and confirmed they'll reimburse all my costs. That's a huge relief, and I really appreciate their responsiveness. Despite this one-off glitch, I still trust Trip.com for future travels – these things happen, and they handled it professionally. Since I never actually stayed here, I can't comment on the rooms, cleanliness, or service – so I'm keeping my ratings neutral across all categories. A quick tip for fellow travelers: Always double-check your booking by calling the hotel directly a day before arrival, especially if you're arriving late. Even with confirmation, errors can slip through. That way, you avoid the stress I went through. Overall, I can't recommend or criticize this hotel – I just didn't get to stay. But full credit to Trip.com for stepping up and making things right. Will definitely book with them again.
