Datong Inns

The second time I came to Datong, I chose to live in the ancient city. The Gulou Inn gave me a lot of surprises. First of all, the location is too convenient. Take a taxi to the Gulou in the center of the ancient city and take a few steps. It is convenient to go anywhere in the ancient city from the inn. More convenient, crossing the intersection is the Long Juxiang who usually has to queue up, get up early to eat breakfast, and eat without queuing. The environment in the inn is also very good, there is a beautiful courtyard, there is a cute cat to accompany the guests to play, the decoration and facilities in the room are beautiful and practical. The staff in the homestay were also very enthusiastic, sent the apricots picked in our courtyard, and took the initiative to lend us an umbrella when it rained. I really want to recommend it to everyone's treasure homestay.

On this trip, after leaving my job, I've stayed in many places, but Datong was the most surprising city. It's full of historical sites, delicious food, and a vibrant, down-to-earth atmosphere. But what surprised me even more was the guesthouse I chose. I did extensive research and ultimately decided to stay within the ancient city, which turned out to be incredibly convenient for dining, lodging, and getting around. It was fantastic and perfectly suited me. Initially, I considered guesthouses in the Southeast District, but they were all new, and their styles were quite similar and unremarkable, much like guesthouses in other cities. So, I picked one with unique traditional Chinese characteristics, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was exactly to my liking – nutritious and light. The room was warm and cozy, and the toiletry kit was amazing, with thoughtful items inside. Even though it's been in the ancient city for ten years, the decor and renovation show no sign of age; it's incredibly well-maintained. The housekeeper mentioned they had just upgraded all the rooms before my arrival, haha! 😄 This guesthouse truly helped my restless mind calm down. It felt like staying in a museum. The aunties and housekeepers working here told me stories about every single object and corner, which deeply moved me. This is what a guesthouse should be – unpretentious and full of stories. The biggest surprise this time was having the chance to meet the owner, a wonderful lady. She was so nice, I initially thought she was just another staff member; she had absolutely no airs. More importantly, her experiences and background are incredible – she does extreme sports and has even climbed Mount Everest! Talking with her made me feel so comfortable and helped me let go of a lot of things. Thank you for the encounter; it was truly destiny. This was the most unexpected gain from my trip to Datong, and I will definitely go back if I get the chance! It felt just like home, with no sense of unfamiliarity whatsoever.

The location of the inn is very good, the transportation is convenient, the Huayan Temple is very close to the clock tower, the Kowloon Wall, the Daiwang Mansion, and the Fahua Temple. It is within walking distance. Opposite is Xijin Road. When the door is opened, I rushed over for breakfast as soon as I opened the door. It was great. The experience of staying in this time was very good, the front desk service was particularly warm and thoughtful, there were questions and answers, and took the initiative to help us upgrade the room. The room is spacious, bright, clean and tidy, the equipment is very complete, there is a tatami, every day you can get a full rest, overall very comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There is quite a bit to see around Lingqiu, and I should have stayed one extra night or two. Miss Liu (刘小姐), the front receptionist, was extremely helpful, even going all the way to accompany me to the bus stop to catch the bus heading to the Pingxingguan Battle site. Miss Liu also assisted with booking a cab for my visit to the Jueshan Pagoda. This famous Pagoda was founded before England was established by William the Conqueror (if I am wrong, then pardon me, but the Pagoda was built sometime before 1077 A.D. during the Northern Wei Dynasty). Miss Liu also directed me to the gravesite of King Wu of the Northern Wei Dynasty which is right in downtown Lingqiu. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. One restaurant, next door to the right of the hotel, serves a wondering braised fish; the other a few doors away, sells delicious meat pies. My room was professionally cleaned and serviced daily. The hotel even allows me to doze off on the reception floor sofa to await my night train to Beijing. I will return to this hotel if I return to Lingqiu.

Located in the core area of ​​Hunyuan County, the sports square is to the north, where at least 1,000 people play badminton🏸, and it is connected to the Hunyuan Prefecture Office. You can walk there through the breakfast yard (free entry and exit with room card). The front desk is a cultural and creative store where you can buy figurines and refrigerator magnets. Check-in will give you intangible cultural heritage jelly, and there are many coupons for the Hunyuan Prefecture Office (clothing, pot throwing, hoop tossing, archery), and you can watch performances at the Prefecture Office in the evening. Next to it are Yong'an Zen Temple and Yuanjue Temple. The environment is excellent, breakfast is intangible cultural heritage breakfast, and you can refill noodles.

We went to 4 cities during our trip to China: Shenzhen, Datong, Beijing and Shanghai. This hotel in Datong is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It has everything: clean, modern rooms, friendly and helpful staff and prime location. Seriously, if you plan to come to Datong you have to stay here, your body and mind will thank you. 10/10 stars!

Opposite the Hunyuan County Bus Station, the transportation is convenient, the hotel is very clean, the infrastructure is complete, the first floor of the hotel is a supermarket, bottled water and zero food prices can be, the stay experience is good

The hotel is next to the Aegean Shopping Mall, near Datong Railway Station, and the bus is also convenient. In terms of food, there are many choices and people are frugal. In the community, the hotel is a small operation to provide different types of rooms. The equipment is easy to take care of and new, and the hygiene is qualified. The hotel lacks two bottles of water supply, and guests are required to buy it, － yuan a bottle. As another guest complained, the shower head and system are not working properly, and the replacement is not expensive, which will make the guest more comfortable to bathe. There are also three-type charging heads in the room, and ordinary hotels and hotels are generally lacking, which is heartwarming. The front desk is also enthusiastic. It is a satisfactory choice for －.

Very satisfied with a stay, the room is very clean, the environment is good, the pastoral style, the air is fresh and the mood is better for one night, the key price is cheap, the boss is very good, free to send the airport! Come back next time
