"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical."

"Extremely satisfied! Every day, drinks, teas, coffee capsules are replenished, and the room is cleaned meticulously. The mattress is also super comfortable. The staff are very polite and always greet you. They provide L'Occitane toiletries, which, while not super expensive, show attention to detail and elevate the experience. The breakfast is lavish and starts at 7 AM; I recommend going early as it can get crowded. The restaurant downstairs is delicious, affordable, and no waiting in line – fantastic!"

"Ive just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. "Location: You can use bus or taxi from Datong South station. (Approximately 20 mins. ) Located in the city center and very convenient. Services: Hotel staff are extremely kind. I enjoyed a little conversation with them. They also send us some recomendation lists for restaurants. Room: It located underground, but relatively big and comfortable. However, a bathtub inside the room can easily leak water and my room soaked a little."

"The rooms were plentiful and had all the necessary amenities. They delivered fruit and snacks daily, and the service attitude was really good. We even ordered directly from the Chinese restaurant for one meal, which was quite good; they even proactively suggested smaller portions since they knew the servings were large. One staff member even brought us pear juice and provided disposable items like toilet seat covers. However, the facilities are truly old. The shower pressure was very low, and the overhead showerhead kept leaking. I thought it was very close to the ancient city, but you actually need to take a taxi to get there, it's not within walking distance, which is inconvenient. There's no free laundry, and the TV is quite old. The breakfast area didn't feel very good; it was all long tables, so you always had to share with others, and the breakfast time was too short."

"I booked a family room, which was quite spacious with plenty of room for luggage. The guesthouse itself is fairly new, and they provide complimentary toiletries. There's also a washing machine on the first floor. The hotel is right next to the city wall, and for meals, you'll need to walk about 10-15 minutes to Sipai Street. From the accommodation, you can even see the Daiwang Mansion. Breakfast is a set menu and tastes good; it's not served inside the guesthouse, but it's only an 8-minute walk away."

"The hotel's facilities are excellent. The lobby is grand and elegant, and the rooms are spacious with good hygiene. The location is very convenient for tourists; it's only about a ten to twelve-minute walk to the Datong Ancient City direct shuttle bus stop. In the evenings, you can walk through the ancient city and past the Heyang Gate to reach the Sipaifang commercial food street, which is always bustling. It's so convenient and comfortable to enjoy the beautiful ancient city views and explore the Dongnanyi Historical and Cultural Pedestrian Street. I highly recommend this hotel! 👍"

"I stumbled upon this hotel and my experience was absolutely fantastic. The overall decor is stylish and creates a wonderful ambiance. My room had a great view, was beautifully furnished, and paid attention to every detail. The cleanliness was impeccable; everything was spotless, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, making for an excellent night's sleep. The staff were friendly and provided thoughtful, attentive service, making me feel very welcome. The surrounding scenery and amenities are also great, perfect for a leisurely stroll. From the environment and service to the facilities, I couldn't find a single flaw. I had a truly pleasant stay and it's definitely on my re-book list!"

"The hotel is very close to the ancient town, making it a perfect walkable distance, and it's not noisy at all. Our room had a direct view of the ancient town. The room was clean, tidy, and had no strange smells. We really appreciated the choice of two pillows, one soft and one firm – a great touch! What was most thoughtful was coming back on Dragon Boat Festival to find two Zongzi (rice dumplings) in our room; that was so considerate! All the staff were warm and attentive. Breakfast was also good! Highly recommend!"
