"I was pretty excited at first, but after staying for two nights, some issues became apparent, especially with the air conditioning. Even on the lowest fan setting, it was still very loud. When I returned to my room, I set the temperature as low as it would go, but the room temperature wouldn't drop. When I asked their engineering team to check it, they insisted the AC temperature had dropped. I mean, it was blowing at 16 degrees for two or three hours and the room stayed at 25 degrees – and they told me it had cooled down? They even said it was because I'm sensitive to heat. I'm speechless. I'm a grown man, and yes, I'm sensitive to heat, which is precisely why I needed it cooler. I felt sticky after every shower. They just pushed all the blame onto me. What exactly are you guys training your staff on?"

"I booked this room purely for its location, which is almost central and convenient for getting everywhere. However: 1. The first room I was given had its door directly facing the corridor. From a basic understanding of feng shui, as well as visually and psychologically, it was very uncomfortable. After providing feedback to the front desk, they changed it. 2. The second room was in a corner, next to a cleaning closet. When I came back for a rest around 2 or 3 PM, there was a constant clicking noise. 3. After my afternoon nap, I pulled back the duvet to find three stains on the sheet. I checked my pajamas and confirmed I hadn't caused them myself. After reporting it, they changed it again! 4. On the last morning, while I was using the toilet, all the lights in the room suddenly went out!!! The entire hotel had a power and water outage?!!! The smart toilet lost power and couldn't even release its stored water???... I've traveled countless times, but this kind of experience is truly a first! Thankfully, the door could still open, so I promptly checked out and left, ending this ordeal!"

"Honestly, the hotel is quite good. It still looks grand and upscale. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, and the service was excellent. The food wasn't expensive, and the hotel's location is fantastic; getting anywhere is incredibly convenient. My only complaint is that the ground floor feels a bit chaotic, with some small shops at the entrance/exit detracting from the hotel's image."

"The location of the hotel is good, easy access from main road to get big bags to it and also to go around the ancient city both during day and night time to enjoy all the landmarks. Missing signages make it a bit difficult to find the hotel at first. Also, while we had paid for a bigger rooms the room barely had walking space. It had no luggage storage space or cabinet. The washroom and room floor was not cleaned. Staff on the other hand are very friendly and willing to help with all the questions - on local travel, places to see, vegetarian food, etc. They find a way to help to the best. All in all was a good experience and would have been better with some adjustments."

"Had a fantastic stay! We booked the 'sky-light room,' which was very quiet, allowing us to sleep soundly until morning. The front desk attendant was incredibly warm and helpful; she brought ice packs for my wife's sprained ankle and even lent us a charging cable. The guesthouse is conveniently located directly across from the old town city wall entrance, where you can climb up for free to enjoy panoramic views of the ancient city."

"I read a lot of reviews beforehand, which mostly mentioned terrible room conditions and unhelpful front desk staff. This prepared me for the worst, but when we arrived in the early hours of the morning, the staff member at the front desk was incredibly kind and friendly. We're a family of four, and they proactively upgraded our room. We had originally booked a Cloud Elegant Twin Room with two 1.35m beds, but they upgraded us to a Cloud Family Room with two 1.5m beds – what a pleasant surprise! We're so grateful. The room size is already quite generous, and both the indoor and outdoor environments are very quiet. The interior decor, even down to the corners, isn't as bad as some reviews suggested. As for the issue of yellow water, I didn't experience it during my two-night stay. The breakfast area is very nice, with a wide variety of dishes, including Shanxi specialties, and the food tastes good."

Every aspect made us feel safe and comfortable. From check-in to check-out, the service was exceptionally attentive. The staff were gentle and considerate, maintaining just the right level of politeness. They were enthusiastic but not overly intrusive, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The room had a superb ambiance, with soft lighting and a subtle, soothing fragrance. The layout was well-designed, spacious, and airy. Large floor-to-ceiling windows provided ample natural light and offered breathtaking views of Datong's azure sky. Every photo I took was incredibly photogenic, and many friends on social media mistook me for someone in Sanya, constantly marveling at the beauty of the scenery. The B&B's courtyard design was ingenious and aesthetically pleasing. The elegant courtyard scenery made it perfect for strolling around or taking photos, easily producing high-quality shots. Located in the heart of the ancient city, directly opposite the southeast entrance, the guesthouse offers easy access to the bustling main street. It's incredibly convenient for visiting various attractions and discovering local delicacies, making travel a breeze. I must especially praise the guesthouse's breakfast. The food was authentic and delicious, with fresh ingredients. My mother and I both found it exceptionally tasty, eliminating the need to search for local specialties elsewhere. The flavors are suitable for all ages. Overall, the facilities, cleanliness, service, and location are all top-notch. This courtyard guesthouse is the first choice for visiting Datong Ancient City. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Datong, and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip!"

"The accommodation at Datong Hotel Yingbin Building is excellent and meets the 3-star standard. I especially want to highlight the Chinese restaurant in the VIP building. The chef cooks for government guests, so you know the food must be top-notch! Picture three shows the mixed hotpot, and picture five is the 'Guo You Rou' (fried pork). The sliced noodles are also very well made, and the yellow rice cake is authentic. Overall, it's delicious and not expensive. If you stay at Datong Hotel, you absolutely must try the Chinese restaurant."

"The room was spacious and quite nice, but the facilities felt a bit outdated. Perhaps due to its age, the light switches were poorly designed; turning off the main switch also cut power to my charging cables, yet when it was on, the TV couldn't be turned off, which was really annoying. The air conditioning was also problematic, constantly cycling on for two seconds then off for two seconds. Breakfast was decent and quite varied, though there wasn't much meat and the quality was just average."
