GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

GGuest UserWhen I found the hotel and walked in with my luggage, a staff member asked me if my luggage was heavy. I didn't react at the time and answered that it was okay. Then the staff member said it was okay. After entering the room, I realized whether they wanted to help me move my luggage. Haha, please be more direct. If you can move it, you can help. If you don't want to move it, you don't need to ask. The newly renovated room still has a smell when you move in. Everything else is OK. The girl at the front desk should smile more. The hotel is quite close to the Hanging Temple Scenic Area. We drove by ourselves and did not follow the vehicle recommended by the hotel to enter the scenic area, so we took a detour to the tourist center and took the shuttle bus to enter the scenic area.

GGuest UserFrom the moment the B&B picked us up on the first day, we felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. The service remained exceptional throughout our four-day stay. The complimentary afternoon tea was thoughtfully prepared, and the fruit and cake were delicious – certainly not an afterthought! The B&B is conveniently located about 1 km (a leisurely 15-minute walk) from the Drum Tower in the ancient city center. You'll pass Kui Xing Tower and Daiwang Mansion along the way, making it a pleasant stroll. Alternatively, a taxi ride costs around 7 RMB. It's also very close to the North Gate, providing easy access to the city wall for cycling. The B&B was spotlessly clean. The only minor downside was that our particular room didn't come with a TV, but honestly, it wasn't a big deal at all. I haven't included photos of the B&B itself, as it looks exactly like the pictures advertised online. The picture I've uploaded is of the small wontons the 'auntie' freshly prepared and cooked for us in the morning – it truly made us feel at home. Hope to visit again soon!

The hotel is clean and clean, the location is good, the surrounding facilities are complete, not far from the ancient city, it is very convenient to drive. The room is well decorated, there are large windows, the ventilation is very good, the proprietress is very good, very careful, really recommend it here, next time I bring my parents to live here, it’s really good.

MM449732****My daughter and I made plans to see a JJ Lin concert in Beijing. She mentioned the spectacular thousand-year-old wooden pagoda in nearby Datong's Yingxian County, so we decided to visit Datong. When we booked a hotel, we found a fantastic deal, so we booked five nights, only arriving in Beijing for one. Once we arrived, we discovered Datong is truly a gem. The temperature was a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius, and the attractions were breathtaking, from the natural wonders—the earth forests and volcanic clusters—to the cultural and historical attractions—the Yungang Grottoes, the Datong Museum, the Hanging Temple, the wooden pagoda, and the Huayan Temple. I highly recommend this B&B. It's clean, the service is excellent, and the location is fantastic. In the morning, when I opened the curtains, I could see the sunrise over the mountains—a breathtaking view. It's also conveniently located near the train station, just a 10-minute bike ride to the ancient city. The shopping mall is just around the corner, and the famous Long Juxiang is right there—delicious food with no lines. The best part is, I expected the proximity to the train station to be noisy, but it was incredibly quiet. Otherwise, I would have stayed a few more days to catch the concert in Beijing. Datong was the main attraction of this concert trip, and the concert itself took a back seat. I was so happy!

GGuest UserVery good boss, very good homestay 😭 knife-cut noodles are very delicious, the room facilities are very tasteful, it is very comfortable to blow the breeze in the small courtyard, the boss is very good to help us upgrade the room type, stayed for a few days and experienced a lot of local humanities, everyone is very enthusiastic, Datong is really a very good city, outstanding people and beautiful scenery, I will come again next time 🥹🥹🥹

HHunboonCab fare from Hunyuan bus station to hotel is RMB10(fixed price),from hotel to Hengshan and Xuankong temple is RMB20 and 15 respectively. Hotel staff provided great service and advice, helping with the laundry washing and gave us aloe Vera gel for moisturising. They also helped us to confirm the bus trip from Hunyuan to Wutaishan by calling and contacting the bus station staff to ensure we will not be cheated. There's a shopping centre opposite which sells apparel and shoes at wholesale price. Lots of food options nearby too

GGuest UserThis hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

RReinaAjummah at the front desk is very accommodating. I arrived at 6:30am and they were able to provide me a room at 8am. Very close to the railway station. The downside is room smells tobacco. The common bathroom is extremely dirty and smells like urine. There were even poop left is there without flashing down. I had to go up to the 3rd floor and use the bathroom there instead of the one in our floor.
No towels, toiletries, slippers, hair dryer. If you just need a day to rest that is near the railways station, you can book this, otherwise look for other hotels in the area.
