It's only about a ten-minute taxi ride to major attractions like Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple. Plus, there's a children's park and a museum nearby, making it super convenient for families with kids or just for a leisurely stroll. The environment is impeccable. The lobby features Atour's signature 'Zhuju' library, with a warm, natural wood design that's perfect for photos. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with hot tea, instantly melting away travel fatigue. The facilities are new, and the room was spotless. The mattress and pillows, part of Atour's 'deep sleep tech,' were so comfortable I never wanted to leave the bed! Smart room control, a screen-mirroring TV, and a 24-hour laundry room cater to both business and leisure travelers. But the service was the absolute best. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were all smiles. When checking out, they even gave us thoughtful bottles of warm water – attention to detail at its finest. You can even enjoy authentic knife-cut noodles for breakfast. Incredible value for money, highly recommended!"

The hotel has an underground garage with free parking and even charging stations. So, if you're traveling with an electric car, no need to worry about charging – it's super convenient. It's a non-smoking hotel, which is fantastic for non-smokers like me. You don't have to worry about lingering smoke smells from previous guests. I was in such a hurry when I left that I didn't get a chance to take any photos for everyone's reference. But if I ever come back to Datong, I'd definitely choose this place again!"

From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me with smiles, processed my check-in very efficiently, and even thoughtfully asked about my travel plans, offering tips for local sightseeing. Seeing me with luggage, they proactively helped carry it to the elevator. It’s these small details that truly show their dedication, and this just-right level of warmth made me feel incredibly welcome. (The front desk gentleman who checked me in that day was very patient, though I didn't catch his name.) Now, about the room experience – it truly surprised me. The room was spacious, well-laid-out, and had fantastic natural light. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and there were multiple pillow options. As someone who values good sleep quality, I had a wonderfully restful night. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner was spotless. The wet/dry separation in the bathroom was also a thoughtful touch, and the toiletries were of good quality. You can really tell the hotel pays attention to details. The breakfast also deserves praise. The restaurant environment was elegant, the ingredients fresh, and dishes were refilled promptly. The staff were also very diligent in clearing plates, ensuring a great start to the day. Overall, this stay far exceeded my expectations. Both the facilities and the soft services demonstrated the hotel's professionalism and attentiveness. It offers excellent value for money. It's within walking distance of attractions such as Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Prince Dai's Mansion, Nine-Dragon Wall, and Datong Ancient City Wall. Popular restaurants like Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Xijindao, and Beiwei Family Banquet are all within a 5-minute walk. Second, the facilities are brand new. The hotel, newly opened in April 2026, is spotless and meticulously designed. There's a coffee machine at the entrance, freshly brewed herbal tea, paper cups for takeout, plenty of bottled water in the room, a mini-fridge, and a delivery robot. Finally, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Even before arriving, there were warm reminders, and the staff were very helpful, recommending restaurants and accepting takeout orders, making me feel right at home. Goodbye Datong, may our friendship last forever!"

"The service was incredibly warm and welcoming! It was my first time in this city, and I wanted to see the ancient city wall at night. The front desk manager was so kind, they upgraded me to a panoramic room for free – I was thrilled! The in-room smart interactive system was also very good, especially the well-designed lighting modes. My only minor suggestion is that the toilet water pressure might not be strong enough, as it struggled to flush much paper. Perhaps a notice could be placed in the restroom indicating that paper shouldn't be flushed down the toilet, and that even 'flushable' wipes shouldn't be either. I mistakenly thought they could be, which unfortunately led to a blockage… how embarrassing!"

On the first day, the room was very clean, but after that, the cleaning was not done properly. It felt like they only removed the trash, and the floor was wiped very superficially — I couldn’t even walk barefoot on it. Some days they provided only one towel, and some days there were no slippers at all. My first trip to Datong, I came with an anticipation for the ancient city, but unexpectedly, a Siheyuan B&B (courtyard guesthouse) stole my heart and became a lasting favorite. Jiuheli is tucked away in the most central location, right by the South Gate of the ancient city. It’s an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Instead of towering buildings, it's a traditional Siheyuan with one ground floor and two underground levels. The grey bricks, dark tiles, wooden corridors, and expansive courtyard with dappled light seamlessly blend the elegance of traditional Chinese architecture with modern living comfort and exquisite, delicate design. The entire guesthouse has only 9 rooms, each named poetically: Luxi, Weiyu, Xianzhou, Hewan, Chunxiu, Rimu, Yunting, Wushi, Qinghe. They are few but refined, quiet but beautiful, offering a sense of peace the moment you step in. I stayed in Luxi. The name is inspired by ”Zhanzhan Lusi, Feiyang Buxi” from the Book of Songs, evoking the clear and gentle morning dew. Stepping out, you're in the courtyard, and the floor-to-ceiling windows bring natural light and greenery indoors. It's quiet, spacious, and private, free from noise, only offering relaxation. The room features smart home controls, luxurious bedding, high-quality toiletries, and thoughtful details that are just right. It's simple yet sophisticated, comfortable yet effortless, with delightful surprises at every turn. Every day spent here was filled with warmth. Gentle breezes in the courtyard in the morning, quiet tea sips in the afternoon, watching the ancient city sunset in the evening, and soft lamplight at night. The outside world's buzz is gently kept at bay, while your inner self feels endlessly healed and content. There's no complicated dining here, but that's perfectly fine because just a few steps away are the ancient city's time-honored eateries and vibrant local life. This allows you to truly immerse yourself in Datong's rhythm of life, feeling free, relaxed, and at ease. The housekeeper is discreet and never intrusive, yet always thoughtfully attentive. Welcome fruit, hot tea, meticulous care – no over-the-top service, but you always feel valued and well-treated. Meeting Jiuheli on my first visit to Datong was truly a stroke of luck. Comfortable, quiet, stylish, and warm – the perfect experience, elegant surroundings, and heartfelt details made the entire trip exceptionally fulfilling. Next time I come to Datong, I will undoubtedly choose this place again. And I sincerely recommend Jiuheli to every first-time visitor to Datong.
