"The hotel is located within the ancient city, spanning two floors. It's conveniently situated near restaurants and attractions, just minutes' walk from popular restaurants like Longjuxiang and Xijindao, and also a short walk from the Huayan Temple. The rooms were clean and tidy, very comfortable, and fully smart, with robots delivering essentials. My child loved the hotel; the double bed and single bed were perfect for a family of three. Choosing this hotel was a great decision; exploring the surrounding area was smooth, and the stay was very pleasant. Highly recommended!"
"Located within the ancient town but away from the hassling buzz, this hotel has been bookmarked since I last visited datong in June. I'm glad that I finally get to stay here although I wanted to rest in the sun out in the open space but couldn't due to winter. Overall, great service and nice breakfast which is about 10mins away!"
"Very comfortable stay. Hotel is older but in excellent condition with very comfortable quiet rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was excellent with extensive Chinese and western options and even espresso coffee made to order. There was a bit of smoke smell in the corridor at times but none in the rooms and everything was very clean. Hotel was well located in the old town and close to the impressive nine dragon screen. We’d happily stay again"
"I booked two rooms for 4, and we were given rooms beside each other. We arrived late at night around 9.30pm and check in went smoothly. Rooms were very comfortable and were equipped with SMART tech with voice activation! We were also able to check out a little later upon request since our train left later in the afternoon. I also had packages delivered to the reception and had no issues. Location was great and easy to explore the ancient city and also to see the main wall itself. One thing to note is that there isn't a formal drop off point but you can definitely get dropped off and picked up along the side of the road. The room layout was slightly different than the images on Trip.com (I booked a Double bedroom with courtyard view with a stay voucher), but the room was good too although I would have preferred the toilet configuration in the photos. Overall, a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay here again if I get to come back to Datong. They also have a bakery at the lobby and it gets sold out pretty quickly!"
"The guesthouse is conveniently located with easy parking, making it perfect for sightseeing and getting around. The courtyard is charming, and the rooms are clean and tidy, providing a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!"
"Great location, easy access inside the old town , room was spacious and comfortable, very clean tidy (nice bed, shower and very quiet). Great breakfast. All the staff were welcoming and helpful!"
"A fantastic hotel experience! Produced by Jinjiang Hotels, the quality is impeccable! Located within the ancient city, Huayan Temple is just a short walk away. The design is superb, featuring an antique-style building reminiscent of the Sishui Chaotang courtyard. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is exceptionally comfortable, and the breakfast is plentiful. It has its own underground parking lot with direct elevator access. Highly recommended!"
"Great stay! Lovely hotel and very kind and helpful staff. The hotel is very well located and the breakfast was delicious."

GGuest UserOne of the best stays I've staid in so far! The architecture is amazing, location perfect in the city center yet easy to reach for taxis, it's spotless clean, cozy warm and the owner is a really nice guy who enjoys inviting his guests for a tea and conversation. If you go to Datong, stay in this place and you'll be happy!
GGuest UserThe room was very clean, and the front desk staff were all very welcoming, attentive, and patient. They were very considerate of the test-takers, making it a very good exam experience. The service department staff also kept the room very clean and even informed us about the breakfast hours. They were very dedicated to their work, and everyone was very kind. I will definitely choose Manxin again when I travel. The breakfast was incredibly plentiful and delicious, with both Western and Chinese options. The shaved noodles were even better than some older restaurants!
GGuest UserGreat location, easy to find, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and modern room, good breakfast. Great value for money, warmly recommended!
GGuest UserThe Yunzhong Chaoran Pavilion was newly renovated just prior to our stay in January 2026. The whole building is spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The staff make an effort to understand you, and are adept at using translation apps when conversation breaks down. They have a “Xiao Du” feature , similar to the American “Alexa”, where you can ask it to turn lights off and on, as well as to open and close the curtains . The receptionist patiently helped me to learn how to use it - and frankly , it was great practice for my pronunciation of Mandarin. Finding the hotel is as challenging as any other located where vehicles are not permitted to enter. We were fortunate to have a taxi driver who helped us figure out where the hotel was, and then walked us there. Datong is not yet well known as a tourist destination. However, it is a reasonably close drive to the Hanging Temple and the Grottoes, as well as the Wooden Pagoda. There is plenty to see within walking distance. The city space around the hotel is under construction- I expect it will become a lot more popular in the next two years.
GGuest UserGreat location, just right around the corner of the old city. The room is clean. Both girls at the reception are very nice and helpful especially when you are not speaking the language. They helped organise the taxi for me to go visit places. Amazing place to stay with these amazing people. I sure will return some day.
GGuest UserThe staff upgraded us to a suite room upon check-in. Also provided daily fruit platter and 梨汤. Supper of 刀削面,egg and warm milk was great! Special commendation to 郭六女 for good service. Parking convenient.
GGuest UserThe hotel is clean and hygienic, and offers free luggage storage. The rooms are spacious, with mirrors and large wardrobes (including blankets), and a long sofa large enough for one person to sleep on. It's very close to Datong Ancient City; you can see the Drum Tower and the Nine-Dragon Wall within walking distance.
GGuest UserExtremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!
