Hotels near Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen

The hotel's location is truly excellent, and the front desk even arranged a room with a view of the Twin Towers for me. However, due to the severe price premium during Chinese New Year, the value for money wasn't great. The rooms were also small, comparable to a budget hotel. It's right next to Cat Street and the Twin Towers. The bridge to the seaside is a 10-minute walk, Shapowei is a 12-minute walk, Nanputuo Temple is a 15-minute walk, and Xiamen University's west gate is an 8-minute walk. The hotel breakfast was very mediocre.

Hygiene: Very good, I don't want to say that it feels like a guesthouse as some people in the comment section said Environment: Super quiet, the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in! The decoration of the room is not luxurious, but it is very delicate and comfortable, which suits my aesthetic taste! Service: The lady at the front desk and all the staff were very attentive and enthusiastic. They even picked me up at the school gate as it was inconvenient to bring my child's slippers and luggage! A special reminder: if you take a taxi, you must ask for directions. Xiamen University has many school gates. You have to go to the Nanputuo school gate and walk for a few minutes to reach the Lin Wutong Building! Living in Lin Wu Tong, I feel like the air is filled with the scent of books! Living in Lim Goh Tong, it is very convenient to go in and out of the university. You can just scan your face to get there. The campus environment and architecture are also worth appreciating! I would like to make a special note that the two-yuan red bean paste buns at Xiamen University are really delicious!

A little Oasis so near yet so far from the city! Right next to the Xiamen university main gate and walking distance to the sea and the so-called 'twin towers '. Ok the good news - large lovely bedrooms, good toilet, large bathtub and good large shower. All water pressure is good and plenty of hot water. Beautiful garden area off the lower level - private and lovely and green. Nice sunshine coming in. Now the less good - strange overall decor and setup - for example - the sitting area as you enter the place is rather spartan and sparse - only one couch (not comfortable) and one table, it could be better furnished and a lot more homey and welcoming. There is no fridge. There is no wardrobe to hang clothes downstairs. When they service the room daily they don't really make up the bed. The beds are large and comfortable with good linen and pillows.The location is great but uphill and long hard climb to walk and difficult for taxis to find and to travel on crowded single street. There are many steps on the property and no elevator or ramps so difficult for accessibility. The breakfast is limited mostly a simple Chinese food. Ordering coffee ☕ is a bit challenging in English and they are not really experts at coffee. No real food menu on site. There is no English at the reception or in the compound so you need translator service. The televisions (there are three !!) in the duplex have only Chinese channels. Despite this - we loved the place and will stay here again !! Highly recommend - just understand that it is not perfect but really quite good.

This place is really nice, the view is great, and it's clean. You can see Gulangyu Island from the room. The host was also very helpful; when we arrived, the room wasn't quite ready, but they put our bags directly in the room for us when we got back. Definitely recommend!

Service: Five stars definitely go to the front desk ladies! Their service was absolutely amazing!!!!! They proactively offered detailed travel tips and were incredibly accommodating, recommending local specialties and even souvenirs we could take home. You really can't find a hotel this good elsewhere – what more can I say, Shenzhen is yours! They also handled any issues super promptly. We booked a 1.5-meter twin room, and the lady at the front desk immediately upgraded us to a 1.8-meter bed. I also want to commend the cleaning staff; the room was spotless. Amenities: Pretty good! There's a projector, though the Wi-Fi signal was a bit spotty and kept cutting out. For screen mirroring, you need your own membership, otherwise, you can't watch much. You can also listen to music 🎶. Environment: Simple and clear. The lobby is bright with plenty of seating for guests to relax. The hotel is only one floor, and Gulangyu Island is right across the street, so transportation is quite convenient. Just remember to close the windows when you sleep, as the traffic outside can be very noisy – it's not very soundproof. The hotel is conveniently located to Xiamen University, Nanputuo Shapowei. The hotel offers free parking, which solves the parking problem for self-driving tours. Free self-service coffee can be refilled.

The location is superb, right in the Twin Towers with an unbeatable sea view! I originally booked a room below the 25th floor, but when I arrived, the owner upgraded me to an invincible sea view room, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff, both the young ladies and gentlemen, were very warm and attentive. Perhaps because it's run by young people, they prioritize convenience and freedom while still being thorough (perfect for introverts). The room had a Jacuzzi, and they even provided disposable tub liners (so you don't have to worry about the cleanliness of taking a bath in a hotel). Disposable amenities like towels, toilet seat covers, and slippers were all well-stocked. The only minor issue was that the screen mirroring in the room was a bit temperamental. Overall, this was a very satisfying experience with only minor flaws, highly recommended.

This is a genuine review. The location is impeccable, with convenient access to Zhongshan Pedestrian Street. After a long walk, you can just come back to sleep. The service is also excellent; all the staff are friendly and smiling, mostly enthusiastic and kind young people. As for the facilities and environment, the experience varies from person to person. After all, the price is what it is, and you can't judge it by five-star standards – that wouldn't be fair to the hotel. For me, as long as it's livable and clean with no musty smell, it meets my criteria for accommodation. Most importantly, I hate the smell of smoke, and they provided a non-smoking room that genuinely had no smoke smell, which was great. What I particularly liked was that the bathroom had an exhaust fan, so the steam dissipated quickly.

The hotel is halfway up the mountain, and vehicles may need to let other vehicles go first. I arrived at the hotel lobby around 1:30 pm and was told that the room was not ready. The gentleman at the front desk helped to upgrade the room. The room was clean and bright, with powerful air conditioning. The surrounding Cat Street, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen University, Shapowei, and the Twin Towers are all within walking distance.

Xiamen truly is a city you won't want to leave once you've arrived. Not only does it offer romantic sea views, but it also boasts a plethora of stylish and artistic check-in spots! My stay at Yingji Garden (Xiamen University Branch) was truly pleasantly surprised. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of Shapowei and Xiamen University. 🏖 🏨 Accommodation Experience Yingji Garden Hotel (Xiamen University Branch) 📍Address: 479 Siming South Road ✨Highlights: 1. Fantastic location! A 10-minute walk to Shapowei and a 5-minute walk to Xiamen University—so convenient! 2. The room was spacious, much larger than expected, and incredibly comfortable. 3. The front desk lady was incredibly welcoming and introduced us to many local specialties. 4. The cleanliness was excellent, and the decor felt more like home than a hotel. 5. The laundry room was incredibly practical. I could wash my clothes every day after visiting, and the rooftop drying area dried them overnight! 6. Why is this so clear? I stayed at this hotel for six days while sending my daughter to Xiamen University. 🌊Nearby Travel Guide Shapowei (10-minute walk): A paradise for Xiamen's artistic youth, home to countless internet-famous shops and cultural and creative stores. We recommend the Shapowei Art West District, perfect for photo ops. 📸 Xiamen University (5-minute walk): One of China's most beautiful universities! Make sure to schedule admission a day in advance (search ”Xiamen University Visitor Reservation System”). The graffiti in the Furong Tunnel is stunning. Ring Road (5-minute taxi ride): Rent a shared bike and ride along Ring Road for a super comfortable ride. Visit after 4 PM for a stunning sunset. 🌅 Nanputuo Temple (5-minute walk): Right next to Xiamen University, it's a popular destination. Free incense and Buddhist offerings are available. The vegetarian food there is also famous. 🚗Transportation Tips 1. Siming South Road is often congested, so walking or taking a shared bike is recommended. There's a bus stop just outside the highway, offering direct access to Xiamen University and Baicheng Beach. 2. Remember to buy your Gulangyu Island ticket in advance using the ”Xiamen Ferry” mini-app. 3. A taxi to Zengcuo'an costs about 15 yuan and takes about 10 minutes. 🍜Must-Try Foods 1. Cuobian Shacha Noodles (38-year-old Fengchaoshan Road branch) 2. There's a Four Fruit Soup restaurant on Mao Street (the salt-baked chicken thighs are delicious!) Shapowei Mermaid Pearl Handmade Shop is a great place to browse. Everything is uniquely designed by the owner. Great value! 📌Practical Tips 1. While the hotel is in a great location, Didi is very convenient, as is takeout. I've ordered the preserved egg and lean pork porridge from Sanmi Congee Shop many times and never complained. 2. Bring your sunscreen! The Xiamen sun is incredibly strong. 3. If you're planning a day trip to the Tulou, it's recommended to join a small tour group for added convenience. 4. It's best to book your Gulangyu Island ferry ticket at least three days in advance.
