The Nikko Hoshino Yado provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Nikko Hoshino Yado is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Nikko. The hotel offers easy access to Tōbu-nikkō Station, just 2km away. Famous local attractions Nikkozan Rinnoji Temple, Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Ishi-dori'i (Ichi no Tori'i), can all be reached with a short walk. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Nikko hotel offers parking on site. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards.

"Nikko Hoshino Yado was, without a doubt, the most stunning chapter of our trip. It's much more than just a hotel; it's a living temple of Japanese aesthetics. The beauty of its garden is comparable to the renowned Ruriko-in – the same interplay of light and shadow, the same myriad shades of autumn leaves, but with an added sense of private immersion. Staying in a room with a view of the autumn foliage, the window frame becomes a canvas, with the ever-changing seasonal scenery as its most priceless artwork. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts are not merely a feast for the taste buds but also a visual art. Each dish is like a delicate haiku, narrating the seasonal stories of Nikko through the finest ingredients of the season. Then, sinking into the indoor and outdoor *furo* (baths), letting the warm spring water embrace your body, you can gaze upon the autumn colors of the garden or the starlit night sky. This ambiance is simply perfect. This wasn't just a stay; it was a profound healing experience centered around Japanese beauty."

"It was far from the station and I rented a car. There are few rice shops around, but there are. Dinner at the inn breakfast was very good. I think it's a good meal to taste ”special”. The hot spring was also good. However, be careful because the metal is darkened. The room was good. It's a waste of two days a night. The view of Lake Chuzenji was also the best. Next time I want to go see the autumn leaves."

"The hotel overall is great for the price paid, and service was excellent especially from the Vietnamese girl at the front desk who speaks English AND Japanese fluently. Even Japanese guests thought she was Jap. Haha. However, the company could do with hiring a bit more staff as there are things that need a bit more attention and some repairs needed in the room. That being said, the rooms are huge! The outdoor onsen was also colder than expected (although this is explained during check in) and is best in the morning."

Grand opening in 2022. The first 16-room resort lifestyle hotel in Nikko's 1,300-year history. "This is the real Nikko." A lounge service that allows you to experience nature as if it were a painting or a work of art, and promises a fulfilling hotel stay. A haven (SHELTER) in nature, protected from the modern society of convenience, efficiency, and the rush for time. The hotel is not made to be perfect, and the resulting misalignments and distortions lead to the warmth and sense of security that comes from touching natural materials. It is a travel destination where you can encounter new values, such as "reexamining our everyday lives that have become more convenient."

"This was a spontaneous trip! I was on a business trip in Tokyo and had a weekend off. A friend recommended Nikko, and Xiaomoushu recommended the Nikko Sanctuary Garden Hotel. I booked a hotel for the next night, bought my train tickets, and headed out to Nikko early in the morning! Travel is full of challenges and surprises. Putting that aside, this hotel was truly satisfying! From Tobu Nikko Station, it's about a ten-minute taxi ride for 1,600 yen (about 80 yuan). You can also arrange a hotel pick-up a day in advance. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm, so check-in wasn't until 3 pm. No problem, I just dropped my suitcase off and had the taxi driver, who hadn't left yet, take me to the World Heritage Toshogu Shrine. After a four-hour trek, I returned to the hotel, had a welcome drink, and went upstairs to rest. I was stunned by the beauty of the room (see pictures for details!) Thanks to my Ctrip friends for their highly recommended breakfast and dinner. It turned out to be worth the extra 300 yuan for two breakfasts and two dinners. It was like eating at a Michelin restaurant for free. I was so moved that I cried! Even though I was traveling alone. But even if I only had dinner for 300 RMB, it was absolutely worth it! The hotel designer was there that day, and we had a great time chatting. He's a classic music lover and a romantic at heart. He even designed a butterfly made of leaves 🍂🍃 for the menu cover and hand-painted the text on the plates. What a talent! The geta clogs for sale in the hotel lobby are also beautiful. They're said to be made by a renowned artisan. I bought a pair. I won't necessarily wear them, but I'll keep them as a work of art! 😊 Breakfast was early. Since check-out was at 10:00, I chose the latest available at 8:30 AM. I managed to get up, and then I was surprised by the breakfast, my friends. Make sure to order both breakfast and dinner. For that price, you'd only get a steak dinner! 😂 After checking out, I took the shuttle bus to Tobu Station. After checking in to store my large luggage, I took the express bus to Chuzenji to see the waterfalls and enjoy the lake. I think I'll have to stay two more days next time! This trip was perfect, Shelter Garden, see you next time!"

Tōbu-nikkō Station is located approximately 2km away from this hotel. There's plenty to do nearby, with Rin’nōji Taiyū-in (Mausoleum of Iemitsu), Shinkyuusha (Sanzaru, three monkeys) and Nikko Futarasan jinja Haiden all within a short distance. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. Guests of this Nikko hotel can make use of the parking facilities. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.

"4.5 stars!  Property is older but extremely well maintained.  The corner western/Japanese rooms are spacious with two western beds and tatami area, single japanese bath and shower area and separate toilet area, mini fridge, tv, sitting area overlooking the river and table with four chairs as well as a massage chair!  Onsen area has both indoor and outdoor areas separate for men and women and a cold plunge as well as multiple hot baths.  Minus half a star for low staffing in the store/cafe areas (often no staff member to be found when kakigori desired), no in house lunch option and overly fatty meat on the 3rd night dinner (breakfast and dinner were LARGE and BEAUTIFUL but perhaps heavy on the yuba.  Also, shuttle to the train station is only at 10 and 11am and getting cabs is difficult.  However, would overwhelmingly recommend Nikko Senhime Monogatari!"

"I booked this hotel because it had a hot spring and was close to Lake Chuzenji for a family trip. My actual experience there exceeded my expectations. I drove there, and the staff came out to the parking lot to help me park. They were so friendly and helpful with check-in and room explanations, making me feel completely satisfied right from the moment I checked in. I was also impressed by the smiles and greetings from every staff member I passed. The hot springs are genuine sulfur springs, so the smell is a bit of a barrier, but seeing how my skin feels so smooth makes me want to use them twice a day. The food was also clean and well-prepared, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The manager spoke excellent English and was very helpful with recommendations for nearby attractions, allowing me to see places only Japanese locals visit. Thanks to this hotel, I created unforgettable memories in Nikko. Next time I visit Nikko, I will definitely stay here again."

"A cozy and spacious hotel in Nikko. A bit of a walk from the station when you have a lot of luggage. Staff did not speak English. The rooms were large and allowed for many extra beds if needed. The large windows allowed for great morning views of the mountains. The onsen is in a separate building but was nice to have. The lobby also has some sitting areas, a manga room, massage chairs and good vending machines."

"The hosts were friendly and the young female assistant was helpful and polite. Location is great, near to the well-known fall and the lake is in front of the residence. Private onsen facilities are great though they are not available in the morning. Foods provided are in Western style and they are good, but not that great. Guests are reminded to tell the hosts on how to cook the steak, especially if well-done is not their preference. No elevator but many steps means you have to have strong muscle to move the heavy buggages from the car to the room."
