11/10 Exceptional Service by Guest Relations Officer, Dita and Zhafira. Pool was Fantastic. Breakfast Buffet was divine. Welcome Gelato was a Bonus. Room was Perfect. Service in general by All Staffs were impeccable and faultless. Extra surprise for our Anniversary and daughters birthday was the sweetest!

We arrived at the hotel in the evening; the interior had a distinct Southeast Asian feel. During the day, the surrounding environment looked like an oil painting. Perhaps because we spoke a little Indonesian, the staff were incredibly welcoming, inviting us to take a shuttle bus up to the mountaintop for a panoramic view of Borobudur – absolutely amazing! Actually, the entire mountain belongs to them; the hotel is at the foot of the mountain, the villas are on top, and there's also a peacock garden and a small deer park. The hotel offers many activities, such as horseback riding and making batik (a traditional Indonesian craft), all very interesting. The staff also mentioned that many of them live on the mountain, their homes very close to their workplaces. We were so envious! You can easily book a Grab ride from the hotel; it's less than ten minutes to Borobudur, very convenient.

This is a beautiful property with clean well appointed rooms. The gym has good equipment and the pool is great. The only thing that I was not happy with is the hotel changed their policy about using the sauna and steam rooms. I have been visiting this hotel every year and this is the first time I was denied entry because I booked a superior room instead of a deluxe room. I believe this is a bad policy.

During my recent stay at the hotel for a short getaway, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. The staff were incredibly friendly, always greeting guests with a smile and going out of their way to assist with any requests, making the experience feel warm and personal. The entire hotel was spotless and clearly well maintained, which added to the sense of comfort and relaxation. The lobby, in particular, left a lasting impression—it was spacious, grand, and tastefully decorated, creating a luxurious yet welcoming first impression. While the daily buffet meals became a little repetitive over time, I still appreciated the decent variety offered and the consistently good taste of the food. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay that I would gladly recommend to others.

I recently had a delightful stay at Hotel Tentrem in Semarang, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, and their attentiveness truly enhanced our experience. The cleanliness of the rooms and restrooms was impressive, which is always a top priority for me when traveling. The hotel amenities, including the gym, were excellent and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights for me was the delicious breakfast spread. The variety was fantastic, and the quality of the food was outstanding. I also want to give a special shoutout to Ibuk Elfi for her warm hospitality during breakfast. Her cheerful demeanor made our mornings even more enjoyable. As a coffee lover, I was particularly impressed by the skills of Mas Arafi, the barista. I thoroughly enjoyed the cappuccino, mocaccino, and café latte he prepared; each cup was a treat. His knowledge of coffee truly shines through in every sip. The hotel’s location is excellent, and although the building is older, everything is clean and well maintained. I was very satisfied with my stay. There’s a small mall right next door, which made dining and shopping incredibly convenient. Overall, it’s a comfortable and practical place to stay.

Any thing. From thej very first moment I stepped into the well appnted and furnished lobby with abundance of well displayed local antiques and traditional handicraft, to the moment I reached my corner-view junior suite on 9th floor with plenty of amenities and cares, batik patterned bathrobes included! The entre staff is responsve, naturally and honestly smiling, and with the right attitude of solving. Even though travelling as solo I was welcomned by people to have a chat with and this is absolutely outsanding. As to its position I would say great. A few blocks away from the local Kampung Wisata Batik Kauman and the Kraton, as well as the buses heading to Semarang. Solo Balipan station is 10 minutes away by taxi. The morning breakfast is the real prelude to joyful tastes from local dishes to international. Anything freshly cooked and replenished constantly by well trained staff from cooks to waiters. The best capuccino I have ever had it was there! Absolutely recommendable

I came during high season so maybe the cleaning staff wasn't very detailed (we found popcorn at floor and some stain at bed sheet). I complained and the staff handle it very well. However this hotel located at strategic place so near from central city. The hotel is connected to a mall, so it's very helpful for families with children (I brought a 1-year-old baby) if there are baby items that we forgot to bring from home. We can buy them at the mall. Breakfast is complete but maybe if they have ”nasi tim” it will be perfect. (In this case because my baby cant eat rice yet) Thank you Po Hotel

We had a nice experience staying at Grand Mercure Solo Baru! The location was perfect and reachable to all around the city. The room was really cozy. Cleanliness could be slightly improved as we could see signs of aging, including at the gym. But overall, we would come back!
