Hotel Sokcho is located a 5-minute walk away from the Express Bus Terminal. This is very convenient for catching early buses back to Seoul. There’s a large supermarket nearby as well as convenience stores and eateries. Sokcho Beach is also about a 10-minute walk down the road.
The rooms are bright and spacious, with amazing views of the sea. But what we really appreciated was the remarkable standard of service offered. Late one night, our toilet got choked and the flush stopped working. We called the front desk and within a mere 10 minutes, a smartly clad staff appeared at our door, very politely fixed the uncomfortable issue and very politely left, all in a matter of a few minutes. Minimum fuss, maximum efficiency. We were impressed.
Overall, it was a fairly standard stay, saved by the brand reputation and great location, but the value for money was low. 2400 a night for a five-star hotel was indeed a bit pricey. I chose it because it's under the Banyan Tree brand, and there's a lot of hype about it on Xiao Hong Shu (Redbook), but the actual stay wasn't great.
The front desk is on the second floor, and check-in was smooth. The staff's English was decent, and they spoke a little Chinese, though there weren't many Chinese guests there anyway.
The room wasn't very big. The mattress firmness and size were reasonable, and the windows were floor-to-ceiling. The downside was that they couldn't be opened, so ventilation relied entirely on the air conditioning. Upon entering, there was a noticeable smell of fresh paint.
Room service ended at 9 PM. The infinity pool is on the 21st floor, which seems to be the hotel's main selling point. Hmm... the good thing is the water quality is excellent, but the water temperature was too high. It would probably be great in winter. The pool isn't very large, and there's also a warm pool next to it. The lounge chairs were packed very tightly, probably mostly for sunbathing, and the flow of traffic felt a bit congested. Usage hours were from 8 AM to 12 PM. According to Korean law, children are not allowed in after 8 PM, which is pretty standard across Korea.
Next, the worst part of the experience: the soundproofing was terrible. I could clearly hear guests walking and talking in the next room. We were woken up in the middle of the night after falling asleep, and it took two calls to the front desk and about 30 minutes for someone to come and speak to them. The room environment and service level truly don't match the brand and price!
I hope they can improve, which is why I've offered these suggestions.
Hotel is very conveniently situated close to the Sokcho Express bus terminal (not to be confused with the Sokcho Inter-city bus terminal which is about 25 minutes busride away. Very well kept hotel. Microwave available close to reception. Fresh towels daily. Water bottles daily. If you're lucky and get a higher room facing north you will be impressed by the view of the lake which the town surrounds and also the impressive red bridge (Blue bridge wasn't visible from the 7th floor) and lovely sunrises and sunsets to the right in the morning and to the left in the evening. (Blue and Red bridges are called Seorak and Geumgang Bridges).
Nice hotel well situated by the night market, Abai Village and Rodeo Drive. Easy to walk around and explore. The rooms was well kept with no issues. Only downside was lack of parking. They will try to accommodate you so you won't be stuck, but was inconvenient.
Ramada boasts truly stunning ocean views. The location is superb, ideal for a leisurely stroll after a meal. We decided to have breakfast on our last day and were pleased to find they've added pho (rice noodles) to the menu. My mother, who had been craving something warm since morning, absolutely loved it and ate it all up.
I loved it so much, seriously!!!! The price was affordable, and since it had an ocean view, I really felt refreshed. It is a bit far from Gangneung Market, but that actually made it feel quiet and peaceful—it was just so relaxing. There is also a Chaeilsun Sundubu nearby~~
This was a very pleasant place to stay before and after a hike in Seoraksan National Park. Lovely view from the balcony. Very clean and comfortable, and helpful staff!
Very convenient location. The local bus to the national park is right across the street from the hotel, and the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the express bus terminal.
I was pleasantly surprised by a washing machine in the room, which was great to clean my muddy clothes after my hike (you'll need your own laundry detergent).
The room had a kitchenette with sink, hot plate, and full-size refrigerator and freezer. The only problem is there was no pot or pan to use on the hot plate, so I could not actually use it to warm my food (unless I would travel with my own pot)!
It would be nice if the room provided a hair dryer and if the hotel had some breakfast option. The cafe downstairs offers only drinks, not food, and doesn't open until 11 a.m.
The entryway light is motion activated, and there are many electronic buttons and panels around the room that emit light, so if you are sensitive to light while sleeping, you will have to cover your eyes with a sleep mask.
Also note that it you close the sliding door between the bed and living area while the air conditioning is on, it will prevent the cold air from reaching the part of the room where the thermostat is located, so the air conditioner will remain on indefinitely, and the sleeping area will get very cold.
The various panels for lights and temperature were a bit difficult to understand. English labels would be helpful. But the receptionist was helpful and came up to my room to show me how to use the air conditioning. The USB port on the nightstand worked some of the time and sometimes it didn't. I couldn't figure out if there was a switch or setting somewhere in the room to make it work, or if it was just malfunctioning.
The location is perfect for a direct view of Ulsanbawi Rock.
The WEST building I stayed in was an older building, so the veranda door was warped and wouldn't close properly. This winter, the cold wind blew in.
I was able to cook simple meals, so I ordered abalone soup to go and cooked it for breakfast. However, the stove was gas, not electric, and one of the stoves wouldn't light.
Still, the three of us on our family trip had a great night's stay.
The next day, the clouds cleared, revealing the view of Ulsanbawi Rock.
We enjoyed it.
The hotel is grand and there are four towers, with adequate facilities and friendly staff, the hotel is very comfortable and I would like to live here again in foreseeable future!
The room is small, but clean, and the location is very convenient. The price is also great value. Booking a room on trip.com is cheaper than using other platforms. I think it is worth recommending.

GGuest UserHotel is clean and fun. Our family enjoy much. They have treasure hut and uncountable lego blocks in the room. My girl loves this hotel the most in the whole Seoul trip.
My girl enjoyed the little game in room, the swimming pool, a small warm pool, indoor children playground very very much!
For car parking, we followed the naver map arrive the hotel. When we got there, they didnt allow us to park in front of the hotel, and we need to drive back to their specific parking area, and took shuttle bus back to the hotel again. This action wasted us an hour to go and back, and even waited around 30mins for check in. If they allow us to put down the luggage and do check-in first, and park the car later, that would be much better. It is sad for the 1st impression. And I found the locals would ask the staff to park their car for them to the specific car park. How come this could not be the same to foreign guests?
One more is not good about the dinner buffet. This was paid, W90000. When we got there after swim, around 8-8:30pm, the food left not much. But they close at 9:30pm. They refill slowly slowly.
GGuest User- Location: Gyeongpo Beach side is a hotel many 2030 squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky squeaky s It's really quiet. So I often eaten in Gyeongpo and took a taxi.
- Not bad, but overall a little poor
1. No quilt, just a very thin cloth on the mattress
2. I can't lie down watching TV (only a mat on the double floor TV is below)
3. The terrace is small and the door is not locked
4. Spa bathtub is good. But dust comes out. A little lack of hot water. Spa facilities but no robes. Towels were a bit wet
- Good point.
1. It's quiet and not ocean view, but the sea is very close
2. The rooftop barbecue place was good
3. ok to take pictures
4. It's a good place to take a lot of luggage
I told you what you needed by text with the boss.

IIeja LizahWe stayed at Mona YongPyong – Bliss Hill Stay 🏔️
The place was very strategic and convenient. Just below our hostel was the YongPyong Bus Station, and right next to it was Mona Park Ski Resort ❄️🎿
We also enjoyed halal food at Efes Kebab, which made our stay even more memorable 🍽️🤍
We will definitely come back again next time!

GGuest UserReally enjoyed my stay at Kensington hotel. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Nearby restaurants closed early, so I had to have hotel dinner (not bad). Hotel is situated near Seoraksan entrance (walking distance). Absolutely stunning view of the mountain! Hotel's concept is intriguing!!
찌찌냥이Because it was a weekday during the off-season, the price-to-performance ratio was really good. The location was good and parking was easy~ There was a place to separate trash on each floor, and it was nice that there was a large convenience store inside the building! The room was spacious, the bedding was clean, the kitchen was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the water pressure was good, so there was no inconvenience at all. I tried to order chicken through room service, but the BHC in the building that was supposed to be open 365 days a year seems to be closed on Mondays. I had it delivered from a different branch. The front desk staff was also kind! The cat named Pepe, which is probably the resort's cat, was also super cute. I often come to Gangwon-do to go fishing, but from now on, when I come to Goseong, I'll have to come here! I'll have a good stay~!
WWan slmnThe hotel was nice despite the fact that it's quite far and secluded from other place. The service was good too. We had a decent stay here. The price is cheaper compared to the ones at alpensia and yongpyong resort.
