Guest UserThe whole family with the elderly and children stayed in Qichen, and the experience exceeded expectations! The courtyard is spacious and safe, the children can run freely, the room space is sufficient, the bed is comfortable to sleep, the hygiene is particularly in place, and the elderly are very satisfied. The housekeeper prepared fruit intimately, took the initiative to help carry large luggage, planned the easy parent-child play route in detail, and avoided the crowded crowd. The homestay is quiet and not noisy, the quality of rest is very good, not far from the ancient city attractions, and travel is labor-saving. The whole is warm and homey, the whole family likes it very much, and the first choice for family travel is Qichen Boutique B&B!

Guest UserRevisiting Pingyao, I chose this inn and my experience exceeded expectations. It's a typical Jin merchant-style courtyard, with blue bricks, grey tiles, and lanterns hanging high, creating an authentic and ancient atmosphere. It offers a tranquil escape in the midst of the bustling ancient city; despite its central location, the courtyard is incredibly peaceful. The owner was warm and thoughtful, even recommending sightseeing routes and local delicacies. Check-in was smooth. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the bathroom facilities complete with stable hot water. The cleanliness details were impeccable. Sitting idly in the small courtyard, soaking in the ancient city's slow pace, felt truly immersive. It was convenient for visiting attractions and finding food, with no hidden extra costs, offering excellent value for money. If you're staying in an ancient courtyard in Pingyao, this place is highly recommended. I'll definitely choose it again on my next visit.

Located at the intersection of three main streets (east, west, and south), getting around is incredibly convenient. The surrounding area is packed with great food and major attractions. It's a two-entry, independent courtyard house with clean rooms that are full of Shanxi charm. Most importantly, the front desk lady provided thoughtful and attentive service, which was absolutely fantastic! 👍 She even picked me up from the train station for free!

My mother and two aunts came to Shanxi for a trip before the May Day holiday, and their first stop was Pingyao Ancient City. When I started looking for a hotel for them, I immediately noticed Qianxiqing, which is very close to the North Gate of the ancient city. Its antique decor perfectly matches the characteristics of the ancient city. After browsing further, I found that the hotel facilities were very new and high-end, and they also offered services like station pick-up, so I decisively made a reservation.
On the day of their arrival, I communicated with the owner in advance. The owner was kind, amiable, and meticulously provided me with an introduction, and understood the details needed for the pick-up. For the pick-up, the owner personally used a Mercedes-Benz van, which was quite a high-class touch! Upon arrival at the hotel, he patiently and thoroughly explained the hotel's features and provided information about some attractions in Pingyao Ancient City. He even contacted me after my mother and aunts went into the ancient city to inform them about some things to pay attention to while exploring. He was truly thoughtful. The next day when they checked out, the owner personally drove them to the North Gate.
Even though it was a short stay of less than a day, it truly demonstrated the highly professional standards and warm, attentive service of this hotel, the owner, and their team. It made me feel incredibly reassured. The next time I bring my family to visit the ancient city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

qazxswrThe transportation is convenient, and the inn's shuttle service is incredibly punctual. The owner is warm and thoughtful; they coordinated pick-up and drop-off times in advance, so there was no waiting at all. The guesthouse's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to explore Pingyao Ancient City. The room was spotless, and the bedding and bathroom were clean and fresh. The service was meticulous and attentive; any requests were responded to quickly. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The overall experience far exceeded our expectations. Guest UserI was a bit conflicted about where to stay in the ancient city before checking in, but I'm really happy with my final choice. This hotel, 'Seven Ins and Seven Outs Jinshang Mansion,' is right on West Street, making it super convenient to get around. The rooms are clean, and the bathrooms are well-equipped. They even have a travel photographer in the lobby! I bought my 'See Pingyao Again' show tickets at the front desk for a group discount price. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to and from the show, with the pickup/drop-off point at Xixi Gate – make sure you don't go to the wrong spot! Highly recommend it!

XiaohaitunaizaishenqiuThe Xinghuacun Hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, directly across from the county government office. A right turn out of the hotel brings you to the bustling South Street, where all the major attractions are located. The rooms are incredibly spacious and feature double sinks. They're also super cool; we didn't even need to use the AC at night, making for a very comfortable sleep. The abalone millet porridge at breakfast was delicious, and the pour-over latte coffee was just as good as what you'd find in a coffee shop. The mini-fridge was stocked with various complimentary beverages, and all the bottled water was Baishui Mountain brand. What surprised us most was the complimentary fruit delivered every afternoon, and a thoughtful farewell gift upon check-out. The service truly was superb! 👍 Highly recommended!

Fantastic stay. Staff provided impeccable service and advice. The tour suggestions were on point and proactive (e.g. informing us that light showers were forecasted and they had readied umbrellas if we needed them). Most of the staff was fluent in English.
Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Smart use of the different courtyards meant that rooms are very private and that, overall, it was very calm and serene.
The property is located centrally near one of the major intersections within the old centre and most points of interests can be reached on foot in 20-30 min.
If you are travelling with heavier luggage, then the hotel provides transport against an additional charge. The cost (150 RMB per way from/to the high speed train station) is well worth the money as you get dropped off just outside the pedestrian area (but within the city walls) a few hundred meters from the hotel and staff arranges for the luggage to be brought to the hotel. Taxis can’t drive that far into the old city.

Room was comfortable and the shower was hot. 😊 The overall property appeared to be going through an update and repairs which didn’t bother us. Breakfast served is local and nourishing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He is very good at using the translation app which was helpful for us Westerners. I would recommend for the adventurous backpacker types. We also appreciated the ride to the train station. 😊
