Scenic Hotels in Pingyao County

"My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. "Hands down our favorite hotel experience in all of China - beautiful property and fantastic customer service. The hotel is beautiful with two picturesque traditional courtyards, while the rooms are modern, well equipped and sparkling clean. The hotel is in a great location and only a very short walk away from all the main attractions. Because the hotel doesn't directly face a big street, it's also very quiet all day and night which is a big plus! Our favorite was the incredible customer service, once again the best we've experienced in China. The staff was extremely helpful in picking us up and dropping us off at the train station. Throughout our stay, everyone was extremely kind, patient, and helpful in providing us with information and making our stay ever more comfortable. Also super responsive to our Wechat messages. An added bonus is that the hotel provided us with a free upgrade to a bigger room type, as well as a free breakfast. We ended up staying one night longer than planned because we liked this hotel and Pingyao so much! We will come back here on our next visit to Pingyao."

"Excellent value for money and a fantastic location. They offered free clothing, and for just 80 yuan, I got a full styling session. We took photos right in the hotel with an OPPO X8 Ultra, and they turned out amazing! My wife was thrilled. The results were just as good as professional studio photos we've had taken before, but at a fraction of the cost. We'll definitely bring our daughter back here for a photoshoot sometime. When we checked out, the owner even gave us two bottles of homemade vinegar as a gift."

"This room was very small—one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in during my travels. It was too small for two people, and I made the mistake of looking only at the photos instead of checking the room size. The best thing about this place is the location, which is fantastic. It was also really quiet at night, which was a plus. The price was okay, but other than that, there was nothing particularly special about the room. Overall, it was alright, but not memorable."

"The hotel is located in a beautiful restored traditional house on the very center of Pingyao. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked as expected. The hotel offered a few complimentary services too, such as a fish spa and a traditional Chinese costume, which made our stay a little more fun. The staff was kind and helpful.We highly recommend the Elsewhere hotel!"

"If you want an authentic traditional vibe but still appreciate modern convenience, this hotel is the perfect choice. The staff picked us up and dropped us off by buggy at the main gate, which made everything effortless. The host was incredibly helpful and explained the best way to explore Pingyao Ancient Town. The hotel has a beautiful traditional courtyard style, but the rooms are fully modern—well-sealed windows, a big projector screen, an automated toilet, super clean linens, and a very comfortable mattress. A cold wave hit during our stay, and the host even provided an extra heater to keep us warm, which we really appreciated. We’re so glad we found this place and highly recommend it with confidence."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location right on South Street, making it super convenient for getting around. They even offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the city gate, plus a free breakfast. I also tried their à la carte menu, and the food was delicious! What's really great is that they also offer travel photography, providing a one-stop shop for everything. If you're looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable trip, this place is definitely the right choice."

"강력추천합니다 위치는 핑야오고성 남문에서 가깝습니다 체크인 할 때 지도에 관광코스를 그려주고 소요시간까지 써 주었습니다 숙소는 깨끗하고 세탁기에 빨레해서 2층에서 건조할수 있습니다 아침식사는 죽과 계란 랑피 등 부담없이 먹기좋은 것들이었습니다 서비스가 정말 좋고 친절합니다 픽업, 샌딩 가능하고 우리는 기차시간이 오후 5시43분 이기 때문에 12시에 퇴실하고 커피집에 가서 시간을 때우려고 나왔는데 사장님이 날씨 덥다고 방에서 쉬라고 4시에 역에까지 태워준다고 했어요 시간을 초과했는데 4시까지 무료로 방을 사용하게 해 주고 역에까지 무료로 태워주었습니다 정말 감사합니다"

"Excellent! I've been here for three nights and am still staying for a few more. The room is clean, tidy, and completely odor-free. The owner is incredibly kind. I cut my hand at Qiao's Family Compound and didn't take care of the wound. The next day, due to the hot weather, it became infected while I was out shopping, which really scared me. I couldn't find a clinic, so I called the owner to ask where I could find medical help. The owner was so nice; first, he told me there was one outside the North Gate, and then he quickly checked for information and called me back to say there was a Chinese medicine clinic nearby. He even called to confirm they were open. When I got there, they couldn't bandage the wound, so I had to take a taxi back to the inn. The owner was amazing and drove me to find a doctor himself 😭😭😭. He helped me get my wound successfully bandaged, preventing it from getting worse. I'm truly touched. The guesthouse auntie is also wonderful, a real extrovert (E-person), very cheerful and chatty. She's great, loves to chat, haha! The breakfast is also very good: steamed eggs, pumpkin, red dates, millet porridge, and steamed buns. It's very healthy. It's good to eat something simple and clean like this in the morning, much healthier than the spicy noodles we usually have for breakfast in Chongqing. Since I'm staying for several nights, I've decided to copy and paste this review so I don't have to retype it every time I leave a comment..."

"The owner is incredibly kind. They messaged us before we even arrived, offering to pick us up from the North Gate of the ancient city. The room was also really nice, and for the price, it's excellent value for money. There's a sightseeing cart right outside that can take you anywhere in the ancient city, and it's also a pleasant, short walk back to the guesthouse. The owner patiently explained how to best explore the ancient city, and even gave us a bottle of vinegar when we checked out – truly wonderful! The courtyard is also very beautiful."
