"This was our second stay at this hotel after we decided to prolong our Jeju roundtrip and come to Seogwipo again. First of all this small city has so much charm and a lot to offer for slow pace travellers like us. The hotel staff is very friendly and correct. The room is very clean and complete for a microwave meal and easy trash disposal system. The location is perfect for nice hikes or exploring other parts of the island as the bus system here is very well connected. Shower pressure is great, and hot. The bed is comfortable, though too narrow for Westerners. Wifi only let's you connect to 3 devices, which needs some coordination if you are using more than that."

PPingtanghuluThe hotel itself was impeccable, but there were too many kids, making it incredibly noisy. The soundproofing wasn't great either, and children were constantly running wild in the hallways, creating chaos. I'd advise anyone without kids or who is sensitive to noise to avoid this place. At breakfast, I kept hearing Chinese children shouting very loudly, like ”Grandpa, Grandpa, Grandpa!” and ”Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy!” – you know the kind of thing. It really drew a lot of attention.

GGuest UserMy 7 friends and I were hiking the Olle Trail. This hostel is in Seogwipo, right next to the starting point of Olle Trail Route 7 and the certificate collection point. We booked for five nights, but ended up canceling the last three nights after the first night. The reasons were excessive noise and extremely rude front desk staff.
Their BBQ night went on until 2 AM. The manager had explicitly told us during check-in that it would end by 11 PM. When I asked the front desk girl if they could lower the volume because it was too loud to sleep, she replied in very broken English: ”This is a hostel, not a hotel. It's a cheap place. You should respect the guests who paid for the BBQ night” (30,000 KRW per person).
Seriously? We booked double and twin rooms, not dormitory beds. And at 300-350 RMB per night, this place offers no competitive advantage in the area. The Seogwipo Grand Hotel next door also charges 350 RMB for a twin room, and the Zinc Hotel across the street is 250 RMB. For the following nights, it rained, so there was no BBQ. Plus, we were tired from hiking and didn't want the hassle of moving hotels, so we continued our booking. That means we booked four rooms for five consecutive nights. I'll definitely visit Jeju Island many more times and complete the entire Olle Trail, but I will never stay at this hostel again.
P.S.: The middle-aged female manager and the young man named Sam who checked us in were both very kind and helpful.

간간다간다아아아어For a 5-star hotel, the staff service is quite disappointing. The front desk had long queues and provided rigid service, while the facility maintenance and housekeeping staff clearly lacked any customer service training. I felt the same way during my last visit, and despite hoping for improvements this time, it's exactly the same. After checking out and staying at another hotel in Jungmun, the significant difference in service is even more apparent. The service is severely lacking compared to advantages like the location.

GGuest UserAs someone who is always picky about hotel rooms, I specifically came to leave a review because this place is truly worth it. The hotel is very large, and the service is incredibly welcoming. As soon as I got out of the car, someone greeted me, explained the check-in time for the afternoon, and helped store my luggage. If you arrive early, you store your luggage first and then check in, which is different from the Parnas next door. The Louis Vuitton store was quite crowded, so reservations were needed. This is a garden-style hotel, with beautiful sights at every turn, showcasing its former luxury everywhere. Although the facilities aren't the most modern, the cleanliness is exceptional. Every corner, including the balcony, was clearly meticulously cleaned, which deserves a big thumbs up! 👍 All items in the mini bar are chargeable, unlike the Parnas where they are free. The bathroom's wet and dry separation is also excellent.
Exiting the hotel to the right, towards the Louis Vuitton store, there's a brunch spot I highly recommend. Their coffee and bagel set is substantial and delicious. They have self-ordering kiosks inside, and you definitely need to get a bell pager in advance. The tofu salad is great for a nutritional boost. Next door is a 7-Eleven, across the street there's Thai food (didn't try it), and diagonally opposite there's a BBQ place (didn't try it). Within a ten-minute walk, you'll find the Teddy Bear Museum, a castle-themed Starbucks, and O'Sulloc Tea Museum. Walking for a maximum of 30 minutes from there gets you to the Jusangjeolli Cliff. It's truly convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Oh, and behind the windmill is Olle Trail Route 8, and walking down from there leads you to Jungmun Beach, perfect for surfing, swimming, and sunbathing.

A guesthouse renovated from the old Midojang.
A good place to stay for a day or two.
I visited Mido Hostel again for the first time in almost 10 years.
I accidentally stayed for 5 consecutive nights, forgetting my age, and in a dormitory at that.
There was nothing uncomfortable about sleeping, but I was embarrassed by the shared restrooms and bathrooms.
It was exactly the same as before.
The shared kitchen has been replaced by a container on the rooftop, and the reception area where the kitchen used to be has been changed into a bar or cafe.
I felt like I would be a nuisance, so I didn't even think about going to the cafe except to ask for a towel. In the evening, a small party, like a dinner gathering, was held among the guests.
I think it would be a good experience for young people.

Almost a perfect stay till the last night (25 Apr) we went into the Jaju store at the basement, one of the lady shop assistant was the only rude person i have met in my whole jeju trip, she's showing a poker face, maybe because its almost closing time, we started to take clothes to fitting room, totally no clue even we tried our best to speak to her, she seems not able to understand English at all. Even when we were at cashier, she was still keeping her poker face poker, quite upset for this part 🥲
Other than that, hotel service and room equipment are pretty good, love it 👍🎉🎉🎉

DDuoduobuduoVI have to say, it was seeing pictures of this hotel's infinity pool online that immediately made me book a flight to Jeju Island. The weather was perfect, and it was totally worth the trip. From the doorman to the front desk, the service was excellent and very welcoming. We stored our luggage and kept bothering the bellboys to get things out of our bags and change clothes, but the Korean staff enthusiastically helped us every time without any hint of impatience. Check-in wasn't until 3 PM, and we arrived at 11 AM. We went out for some BCH fried chicken, and when we came back before 2 PM, the front desk let us check into our room early. We didn't book a sea view because we spent all our time at the pool. We swam during the day and went back at night – the pool lighting at night was absolutely stunning. We only got back to the room at 10 PM and just went straight to sleep, which saved us some money. Although the room wasn't huge, it was very quiet, and the bedding was super comfortable and clean; I slept really well. The transportation is extremely convenient; the 600 bus is 4500 KRW per person, point-to-point to and from the airport. A taxi to the Jusangjeolli Cliff was also very convenient, only 6000 KRW. Most of the guests were Korean, not many Chinese. The brunch right outside the hotel is absolutely delicious. The hotel's boardwalk is also beautiful, leading straight down to a beach.

The natural light is excellent, making it feel just like home! It's equipped with a dishwasher and a washing machine, which is super convenient, especially for families with children. The surroundings are filled with camellias; their fragrance wafts through the air during walks, making it both romantic and therapeutic. The staff are friendly, and the facilities are comprehensive. It's definitely a great choice for a vacation—don't miss it when you visit Jeju!

GGuest UserAll of the hotel staff we met were nice and friendly! However, there could be a lot more that can be done to maintain the hotel better. The cabinet was dusty, the basin tap sprays water onto the basin so that it was wet whenever I used it. The toilet door handle was broken but was glued back. All of the lamp shields in my room were slanted - this is not a practical problem but these are easy fixes . The hotel could also fix big bottle of shampoo and onto the wall instead of giving us shampoo bars. The only upside was the bedding seems quite clean. Sorry to the nice staff we have met but I dont think it is a 5-star hotel.
