"The room is bigger than expected, and the location is convenient. It takes only one hour to get to the airport by subway. The surrounding area is mainly government offices, so there are not many tourists. You need to take the subway to go to the busy commercial area. The bathroom is a bit small, and it would be more convenient if there is a rack for hanging towels or clothes. The breakfast is delicious and rich."

GGuest UserExcellent hotel! I found it completely by chance, but it turned out to be the best choice I could have made. The value for money is perfect — everything is at a very high level. The room was clean, neat, and cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. A special highlight was the beautiful balcony with a lovely view over the city. The staff were very friendly, and the room service was truly excellent — fast, polite, and efficient. The location is perfect: there are plenty of cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and shops nearby, the metro is just a couple of steps away, and you can even walk to the Eiffel Tower. I am extremely satisfied with my stay and would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Hôtel Montcalm Paris for their outstanding service. Highly recommended — I will definitely come back again!

We were given a connecting room, which was pretty clean, though the space was a bit small and having two bathrooms didn't really make much sense. The elevator is located on a half-landing of the spiral staircase, so you have to carry your luggage up or down half a flight of stairs both when arriving and departing. On the day we checked out, the elevator was broken, and only one staff member helped us carry our luggage down from the 6th floor. The breakfast service was good.

GGuest UserThis hotel was lovely and really saved our trip, which my partner had planned as a surprise for my 30th birthday! Shortly after arriving in Paris we arrived at our first ‘hotel’, which we quickly left without a refund due to location and poor cleanliness (thrilled to pay double city tax). Following a search for a better hotel, we luckily found the Star Champs-Elysées. (✓) Location: Star Champs-Elysées is perfectly situated near the Arc de Triomphe and Charles de Gaulle–Étoile Metro Station, being a 5 minute walk away. With restaurants and shops in close proximity, it’s a great spot. Although we didn’t have time to go, there is a fun looking hidden cocktail bar / speakeasy called Haze, which is only a few doors down from the hotel. (✓) Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean and well-presented, something we noticed instantly when we arrived at Star Champs-Elysées. This continued as we entered our room, with housekeeping maintaining the same high standards throughout our stay, working around our belongings, which remained safe and untouched. (✓) Customer Service: The staff were welcoming, friendly and consistently ensured comfort and convenience, from asking us to take a seat whilst they complete the check-in for us, to bar staff insisting on bringing the drink to you (with no queues on both occasions). In the room there was a helpful guest services book, providing helpful information on the hotel’s services and amenities, as well as local recommendations. (✓) Room & Hotel: Our last minute booking was for the Classic Double Room, a nicely decorated modern yet warm and inviting room, albeit a little small, the room felt cosy and was ideal for our stay whilst we explored Paris. The pool was relaxing and whilst it was a small space, it was quiet and enjoyable. However as I was not expecting a pool, finding swim shorts during winter in Paris felt like an impossible challenge - luckily Decathlon, the only shop I found selling swimwear (out of many shops), is an 8-10 minute walk from the hotel. (!) Price Increase (Trip.com): Not a reflection on the hotel and whilst we still found the hotel good value, I wanted to point out that when we first found the hotel using the Trip.com app, it displayed ’1 room remaining’, when booking, I paused for a couple of minutes to double-check this was the best price available, but when I returned to Trip.com’s app and tried to pay for the booking, I was notified that payment could not be completed as the room was sold out. In a following search, Star Champs-Elysées with ‘1 room remaining’ appeared again, however the price had increased for the same Classic Double Room. Despite still being the best price, I was not impressed with Trip.com’s method of increasing the price during booking - something a friend has also experienced. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and agreed that this is our first choice when returning to Paris in the future.

AAnonymous UserAccessibility and Location: We were mindful that Montmarte is a hilly, cobbled location; therefore, on arrival and departure taxi or Uber would be the most convenient way with large luggages. It's brilliantly located within walking distances of fabulous bars, restaurants, and main sights of Montmarte. About 450-550 meters within Metro stops of Lamarck and Chateau Rouge. Cleanliness: The room we were in had a bit of a body odour smell on arrival, which was disappointing. Thankfully the windows can be opened so that solved the issue. Comfort: Beds and pillows were comfortable. Service: Good breakfast service. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Good coin laundry service.

11891324****The hotel has few rooms, and the rooms are quite small. A 20-inch suitcase needs to be stepped over to fit. The bathroom door is a sliding glass door facing the bed, which is inconvenient and affects sleep at night. The good thing is that they provide bottled water and slippers. Breakfast selection is limited: various breads, a fruit pastry (I don't know what kind of sauce it had, it was sour), and smoked salmon and ham slices – one was too fishy, ​​the other too greasy, the taste was different from other hotels, I couldn't eat them. The scrambled eggs had butter on them, which I also didn't like, and there were no fried eggs. Overall, the hotel's location is excellent, with major attractions nearby; Notre Dame Cathedral is a 5-minute walk, and the Louvre is a 13-minute walk. The service was very warm and patient; they even used a translator to translate for me, kudos to the front desk! 👍 However, regarding payment, I chose Alipay for payment after use, which is only available to credit card holders, but I still needed to pay a deposit by credit card upon arrival, which I don't understand. Hotels in other countries I booked didn't require a deposit; I should have paid directly. The deposit refund said it would take half a month, which is quite troublesome.

DDaitieGreat little hotel on the outer skirts of Paris. It's decently located within a 10 minute walk of 2 metro stations. There's a small gym that's 24hr, co working space and a restaurant as well as a laundromat on site. Reception is open 24 hours and they're very friendly and will try their best to cater to your needs. The rooms are extremely clean, and has all the amenities you would normally need (except a spoon to stir the coffee). They provide a reusable glass bottle to take on your day out (which is purchasable if you would like) and they have water refill stations throughout the hotel. For the price i can't complain. Brand new hotel, you can still smell the paint! Extremely clean. Comfy beds (though the sheets are quite thick and I felt a little warm even when the air con was on full blast!) Would definitely recommend if you don't mind the travel into central Paris (I'm from London so the commute is nothing compared to the London underground). Supermarkets and small brasseries located nearby and there's also a restaurant thats open till late that provides drinks and food.

The shower door was broken; I informed the front desk staff, and they knew, but I let it go since I was only staying one night. AAMAKA SPARKLEVery horrible hotel for black female travellers. I stayed at the Originals with my friend for 3 nights, then another 2 nights. We pre-booked and paid for the 3 nights in FULL before arrival. Upon arrival, we were charged a deposit of €150 Euros which was explained to be a security deposit to be returned after checkout.I had no issues with that and focused on exploring Paris. There was a day my room wasn’t cleaned and I complained to a mixed lady at the hotel reception politely to inform the cleaner and she condescendingly looked at me and blurted “I’m not the cleaner”. I never asked her to be one, I only informed her so she can tell the cleaners to make a stop at my room and refill the shower gel, replace soap and toilet paper. The day I checked out, I missed my flight due to the Paris traffic and had to reschedule my flight to the next available date which was in 48 hours which meant I needs to stay in Paris for another 2 nights. I headed back to the hotel. I don’t know why but our cards refused to work despite being funded. We had some Euros cash left in cash and paid for one extra night. The next day, we asked to extend but our cards wouldn’t work. We informed them that we needed to get some sleep but would try an ATM or go to a BDC to change some Dollars. In between, the cleaner came to the room and yanked off our key card cutting off the light supply, we were barraged with calls from the reception threatening that security was going to escort us out of the room. It’s wild because most of their staff is black and yet they treated us like ****. We saw how white guests were treated and black guests and the difference was clear. Maybe they had an assumption and became discriminatory towards us. Note that 4 nights out of 5 was already paid in FULL and they had a security deposit of over 200 Euros with them. We had to abandon everything and rush to an ATM to withdraw more cash💰 to pay for the final day. Let’s not get into the fact that one of their staff ******* almost tried to be ****** with me. I got into the elevator to go and get water at the restaurant on the 8th floor, he kept looking at my boobs and made suggestive comments about wanting to spend the night with me. He also insisted on a hug. I cried from the experience of that hotel and very horrified. As a travel content creator, I will document my experience with videos when I’m back home and share YouTube videos. If you’re a Nigerian or black woman, please avoid THE ORIGINALS. I was excited to be here but it turned into a nightmare. As a business owner myself and CEO of 3 thriving companies, I saw some many lapses in their customer service. The entire place needs a staff overhaul.
