GGuest UserThis was my first time staying at a Hampton by Hilton. As a four-star hotel, it largely met Hilton's brand standards, maintaining a certain baseline quality. However, the gap between it and major five-star Hilton brands was quite noticeable, mainly in a few areas:
Firstly, there were fewer staff members. When we arrived at 6 PM, there was only one person at the front desk. They had to ask the cleaning staff upstairs to show us to our room.
Secondly, the room itself wasn't very spacious. Despite clever space-saving designs, it still felt a bit cramped. Specifically, the toilet and shower doors couldn't be opened simultaneously. This meant you couldn't open the toilet or bathroom door while washing your hands.
Also, there didn't seem to be a wardrobe or a chaise lounge. There were two items near the entrance that looked like wardrobes, but I couldn't find any handles, and pressing on them didn't yield a response, so I couldn't open them. Perhaps the space was dedicated to the main area, as the distance from the bed to the TV was quite generous.
Thirdly, the location was average. It's about a 15-minute drive from the airport, but the surrounding area felt a bit run-down. The nearest commercial district was over a kilometer away and not particularly large.
Right next door is a Cantonese restaurant called 'Kefu.' Its facade, decor, and food were decent, but its rating is only 4.4. My experience suggests the low score is mainly due to poor service attitudes. Plus, a yellow croaker fish, which was advertised in a group purchase deal, was replaced with a cheaper 'hehua' fish. They only updated the text, keeping the original yellow croaker image, which feels like a deceptive practice. While this isn't directly related to the hotel, having such a neighbor can certainly affect the hotel's perceived quality. This also gives you an idea of the generally average commercial environment surrounding the hotel.
In summary, the hotel's quality matches its price point. For under 400 RMB, it's a safe bet. However, if you're looking for a higher quality experience, I'd recommend sticking with the major five-star brands, though you'd then be looking at prices of 700 RMB or even over 1000 RMB.
