Hotels near West District, Taichung

The room is big enough for two people. We lived in level12 and had a good view. The shampoo and shower gel have good smell. The cleaning staff was very friendly and supportive. This hotel has a good location and we could go to some places within walking distance.

we had a great stay at this hotel! the room was huge and had all the amenities you would need, including a standalone vanity. the building itself is old, but i found the furnishings very charming and quaint. we slept very soundly as the walls are made of very noise-dampening solid material, which is rare to see in hotels today. there was a bit of a musty smell when we first entered the room but it seemed to be resolved  by opening a window. the location is super convenient and the staff were gracious during our entire stay.

I've visited several times already. The familiar environment makes me feel very safe, and I will visit again. The room size is just right, the breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and there's an art museum nearby where you can go for a walk in the evening.

Great value for the money we paid, especially with a free upgrade at check in! The hotel had free tea and snacks in the lobby for guests and excellent pour-over coffee available in the room. Very nice bright decor and convenient amenities like hot/cold water dispensers on each floor in lieu of wasteful bottled water in the rooms. The front desk also offered a variety of supplies upon request (photo attached). Great stay, would come back in a heartbeat!

1. Seriously, Trip.com, what gives you the confidence to rate (The Feng Jia Hotel) five diamonds? 2. The hotel's main glass door lacks anti-collision markings, and the lobby is a mess. 3. The wallpaper in the room is peeling everywhere. 4. There are no power outlets by the bed, and the value for money is terrible. When I asked the front desk for a power strip, they gave me a whole list of conditions. 5. The breakfast area is dirty, and the service is poor. For a five-diamond hotel, you have to clear your own dishes after breakfast. Trip.com customer service, if you see this review, please seriously answer my first question. Thank you!!!

I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights. First and foremost, the staff's service was truly outstanding. Their consistently polite and warm approach made me feel at ease throughout my stay and their hospitality definitely made me want to return. The breakfast, which I enjoyed both mornings, was also incredibly delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. The extensive menu offered a very satisfying dining experience. Regarding the location, while it's in the city center, access to major public transport wasn't particularly convenient. However, the exceptional staff service and delicious food more than made up for this, and I consider them the hotel's biggest draws. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for those who prioritize excellent service.

Pros: rooms are renovated and clean, breakfast varied daily and taste good, AC was cold, and hotel quite near the taichung TRA, and steps away from gancheng station where a lot of buses pass by cons: soundproofing could be better, no bidet in toilet All in all, still a good hotel choice in taichung considering the cheap price

Very good location, there are many holiday market in front of the hotel along the street. Close to the department stores and the down town. Large room for four people, a bit older but clean.

Had a great stay at Hotel Si! The showers had constant hot water with strong pressure, and they even provided travel adapters. The water dispensers on every floor were clean and convenient. The lobby was spacious, open, and beautifully decorated with plenty of plants. However, an important thing to note—our room had a balcony, and the toilet was located outside on it. This can be inconvenient, especially at night or in winter when you have to take a few chilly steps back to the bedroom after a shower. The Sealy bed was super comfortable, but the blanket wasn’t the best. The duvet cover kept shifting due to loose ties, which left empty spaces inside. The TV was large and had YouTube and Netflix, but it was quite laggy—maybe Haier isn’t the best brand for TVs. On the plus side, the location is fantastic! There’s a great massage parlour and a live band bar nearby. That said, the strict 4 PM check-in policy can lead to long queues, and parking is limited to just five spots outside, though alternatives are available. One small suggestion—the hotel might want to consider rebranding as ”Hotel Xi” instead of ”Hotel Si,” as ”Si” means ”die” in Mandarin, which is a cultural taboo for Chinese guests. Overall, it’s a decent option if the price is right. The separate toilet setup was a huge downside for me, but the convenience of the location makes up for it. Would consider staying again!

This is our first time to make an accommodation in this hotel for my family trip with my granddaughter.  We came there earlier before 16:00 in Jan 2, 2026. I asked an earlier checking around 14:40 but the girl who seated in the front desk said there system is not working yet and request me to wait in the lobby. In Jan 2, 2026, the weather of Taichung is not so well, windy all the day. I have to asked Trip Agent to coordinate this earlier check in for me but it took me around 50 minutes to get permission for earlier check in after received a phone call from Trip. This is first impression. I request one more blanket for my granddaughter, the receptionist said it was charged but I never noted this when I made my reservation. It looks this hotel will charge most when you have extra demand. It is Ok but I never see a list price for this kind of extra service. One more strage thing, I need to book my breakfast schedule. It using a time frame for different customer because the room inner space is not big enough. We have to seat in the outside close space without air-condintioned area. It is pretty chilly outside. Furthermore, this is not dinning ware for children to have at all. Very strange management. The room facilities is out one date as well. The toilet waste is very simple and floor carpet is dirty also. The comforter cover does not tie up and The comforter is very easily fall out of cover in the midnight and make sleep quality poor.
