A beautiful property with traditional Japanese architecture. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exquisite. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable outdoor public onsen, as well as the very relaxing private bath (just be sure to book in advance!). Most importantly, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Umakoshi. My husband felt unwell during the night, and she provided us with so much help and support. Arai Ryokan, built in 1872, is a luxurious ryokan with 31 Japanese style guest rooms are located in various private cottages. Its 15 wooden structures are registered as the national cultural assets. Many Japanese celebrated artists made frequent visit and the big art collection is housed in the ryokan. A wooden bridge leads to the guest rooms which overlook either the river or the courtyard with its large pond full of carp. Arai Ryokan’s traditional Japanese cuisine kaiseki served features local fresh seafood and vegetable of each season.

Surrounded by breathtaking natural views, it’s an ideal retreat for anyone looking to escape the bustle of daily life. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful. The service was exceptional—attentive, warm, and thoughtful. every detail was carefully curated to create an unforgettable experience. highly recommend this ryokan to anyone seeking a serene getaway with top-notch hospitality.

Enjoyed the stay so much! The room is cozy with tradition modern Japanese design. End the night and start the day with private onsen, great experience. Check-in staff can only speak little English, using translations tool makes everything so well.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shuzenji onsen Katsuragawa.The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel's location was perfect.

The staff is very friendly. There is a paid private onsen. Suitable for a couple who want privacy. The half-board meal is worth it. It is a 10-course Dinner.

The highlight was definitely the private onsen in the room - such a luxurious treat and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. And the food… wow! So much variety and every dish was delicious - a true feast that made every meal memorable. Overall, Toi Fujiya Hotel went above and beyond in every way. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room on the fourth floor. The room was super big and the heating was sufficient, which was very warm on winter nights. There were several Chinese waiters in the hotel, so communication was barrier-free. I booked a one-night stay and two-meals package, and the breakfast and dinner were very good.

WOW. What an amazing hotel. Get the room with the personal onsen and make sure your reservation includes breakfast and dinner for the best experience. The location is serene. The room is clean. The staff is polite and helpful. The FOOD is amazing. The onsen is relaxing. The beach is nearby. Definitely hoping to visit again.

First of all, the neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. It was a good value hotel, but it was a bit hot when I entered.
