The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always looking after our needs and even offering little gifts. The massage was excellent, too. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! 👍🏻 Although there are stairs, the hotel staff kindly helped with our luggage, so it wasn't an issue. However, it might not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Overall, the location is very convenient, and the hotel service is outstanding. Highly recommended!

Nice clean room, quiet environment. I was first worried about location.. but it was absolutely fine and there are a lot of other hotel near by. The host is very helpful and prompt response everytime I request something. Security is good! Just 3-5 mins walk to lake.. and alot of beautiful cafe and restaurant near by, buying water and healthy food is just down there. Overall satisfied with the service and will book again.

Stayed at Splendid Premium Hotel in Hanoi. Very good location - right in the center, near Hoan Kiem Lake, with many restaurants, cafes, and massage places around. Also close to the sightseeing bus stop and the water puppet theatre. Rooms depend on the category. Basic rooms may have a window facing an internal corridor, so no natural light or fresh air. Better to choose a room with a proper window if possible. The room had all essentials - kettle, tea, toiletries, clean towels, and comfortable beds. Shower drainage could be improved. Safe was provided upon request. Staff were very friendly and attentive - welcome tea, small snacks, and help with luggage. There is a rooftop pool (covered) and a lounge area. Overall, a good option for a short stay with strong location and good value for money.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by a lady at the reception. She took the time to sit down with us and shared recommendations on places to visit and things to do in Hanoi, which was a thoughtful and pleasant start to our stay. Unfortunately, our first impression of the room quickly changed. As soon as we entered, we noticed that one of the curtain blind hooks had come loose. We brushed it off, thinking it might just be an isolated issue. However, things only got worse as we continued inspecting the room. In the bathroom, the shower head was loose and water was leaking from the connecting pipe whenever it was turned on. There were also black specks of dirt or dust inside the bathtub, making it feel unclean. The biggest concern, however, was the towel rack. It was literally half-detached from the wall and hanging at a noticeable angle. This wasn't just a maintenance issue—it was a serious safety hazard. If it had fallen on a guest, the consequences could have been severe. It's disappointing that such an obvious issue was overlooked before assigning the room to guests. Another letdown was that the handheld shower for the bathtub had been removed, leaving only the fixed shower head. It made the bathroom feel incomplete and inconvenient to use. Instead of relaxing after checking in, we found ourselves inspecting the room for faults. It honestly felt as though we were the hotel's maintenance inspectors rather than paying guests. As it was already close to midnight, we headed down to the reception to report all the issues. A male receptionist attended to us and listened to our concerns. However, the only solution initially offered was to move us to another room the following day. While we understood that it was late at night and room availability might have been limited, we felt some form of compensation was reasonable given the time we had spent dealing with these problems instead of enjoying our stay. Eventually, the hotel upgraded us to a family room. The room was much more spacious, with a separate living area, comfortable seating and a large bed, which we appreciated. However, another issue soon became apparent—the air-conditioning. Even after setting it to 16°C, the room still felt as though it was around 25°C. It was far from comfortable. In the end, I moved to sleep on the cushions in the living area because there was a ceiling fan overhead, and it was noticeably cooler there than in the bedroom. To make matters worse, the breakfast selection was rather limited. While the food was fresh, the variety was lacking and the spread felt quite basic. It leaned more towards a simple, healthy breakfast rather than the standard you would expect from a hotel that markets itself as offering a more comfortable or premium experience. What made the experience even more disappointing was that this hotel had a **5-star rating on Trip.com**, which gave us high expectations before booking. Based on the reviews and rating, we expected a well-maintained room, comfortable facilities and a pleasant stay. Instead, what we experienced was the complete opposite. The numerous maintenance issues, safety concerns, poor air-conditioning and average breakfast simply did not reflect the quality that a highly rated hotel should provide. Overall, while the staff were polite and welcoming, the poor maintenance of the rooms, lack of attention to detail and underwhelming facilities made our stay disappointing. The hotel certainly did not live up to the expectations created by its 5-star rating on Trip.com. Unless significant improvements are made, I would recommend thinking twice before booking this hotel.

Great location right in the heart of the Old Quarter, but not noisy at all! The soundproofing is awesome, so no street noise or honking gets through. The staff are super helpful, speak good English, and have amazing service. Also, the breakfast has a huge variety, stays fully stocked, and tastes great. Definitely got my money's worth here.

You've probably just flown in, your legs are jelly from the plane, and your body clock is screaming. The in-house spa and sauna will reset you. I did a steam session followed by a massage and woke up the next day actually feeling human. The hotel is about 20 mins by bus to the Old Quarter/Hoàn Kiếm Lake area, but a Grab bike is cheap, fast, and honestly part of the Hanoi experience. 2. Airport Transfer: The hotel offers paid airport shuttle, but if you're arriving during off-peak hours, a Grab from Noi Bai Airport is around $10-15 and door-to-door. During rush hour? Take the hotel shuttle or book in advance. 3. The Gym is Small But Mighty: Don't expect a full fitness center, but it's got the basics. I used it at 6 AM before the heat hit, and had it to myself. Perfect for working off all that bún chả. 4. Explore Cầu Giấy: Everyone rushes to the Old Quarter, but the neighborhood around the hotel has legit local eats. Walk 5 minutes and you'll find street stalls where nobody speaks English and the food is chef's kiss. 5. I’ve stayed for a while two months so far. The second month was split between two rooms 311 & 310 (the long term stay side of Hoa Hong Hotel). Changed to the long term side of the hotel because the price is a bit lower on this side. Some rooms have a cooking station but my rooms didn’t. The rooms with two single beds don’t have it. 310 and 311 does have a window but it’s faced against another building so we didn’t use it. Our rooms had two single beds, 310 looks exactly like the photo for standard twin room, 311 is a bit narrower and the layout is different. But both still spacious. 311 had a working air conditioner but 310 air conditioner is not as strong compared to the other rooms I stayed in (311, 614 & 615) but it still works! On this side, the elevator is a bit slower but not unbearable. To enjoy their breakfast included in the booking, we would have to walk over to the next building and head to the 10th floor. The walk is short, buildings pretty much connected. See my other review from last month regarding food and service.

The front desk staff were very professional and understood basic Chinese. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast is served next door on the first floor, with several set menus to choose from, but you need to book in advance when checking in. They also offer airport shuttle service.

My stay at Duhorea Hotel & Wellness during my first visit to Hanoi was unfortunately not a pleasant experience, particularly when it came to the check-in process and front desk service. I arrived around 1:30pm after travelling 6–7 hours by bus from Sapa. After such a long journey, all I wanted was a good shower and some rest. When I arrived by cab, someone approached me to help carry my luggage upstairs. They were not wearing any hotel uniform, so I initially assumed they were not hotel staff. It was only when the receptionist told me, “Let them handle the baggage for you,” that I realised they were associated with the hotel. This could have been communicated more clearly, especially for a first-time guest. The check-in experience was particularly frustrating. The first male receptionist told me I needed to wait about 10 minutes before receiving my room access card. My passport had already been returned, so I sat in the lobby and waited. After 15–20 minutes with no update, I had to approach reception myself to ask what was happening. A female staff member, Le Hang, was then alone at reception. She appeared to be new and had very limited English. I completely understand that not every staff member needs to speak fluent English, and I am happy to use a translation app when necessary. However, she told me she would get back to me and asked me to take a seat. I waited another 10–15 minutes, but again, no one came back to update me. I eventually had to approach her for a second time. After 2pm, she finally brought me the registration forms. The forms were entirely in Vietnamese. As a foreign guest who cannot read Vietnamese, I was genuinely confused as to how I was expected to sign documents without understanding what I was agreeing to. The hotel had already taken my passport for scanning and registration, so I would have expected them to know that I was a foreign guest and provide an English version or at least explain the documents properly. I also asked whether a deposit was required, but there was further difficulty communicating and getting a clear answer. The repeated back-and-forth was what made the situation so frustrating. The issue was not simply the language barrier — I was willing to use a translation app — but the lack of communication, preparation and support. The welcome drinks were eventually served around 2pm, about 30 minutes after I arrived. A male staff member who was more comfortable communicating in English eventually stepped in to assist, while Le Hang left the reception area. If a staff member is new and still learning the hotel's procedures or has limited English, I believe they should not be left alone at the front desk without adequate support, especially during guest check-in. To be fair, the hotel did provide a room upgrade and complimentary afternoon tea as a service recovery gesture, which I appreciate. However, these were not things I requested. What I really wanted was simply a smooth and professional check-in after a long journey. I hope management takes this feedback constructively, particularly regarding staff training, front desk communication and supporting new staff members. The hotel has potential, but unfortunately, the arrival experience left a disappointing first impression.

The owner is friendly, caring, helped us rent a bike, the hotel itself is located in a densely built-up area, it is not accessible by car, only on foot or on a bike. All amenities are there, we washed things for 30 thousand dong 1 wash. For breakfast, noodle soup with cabbage and coffee. The room is clean by Asian standards, the mattress and pillow are comfortable.
