"The Junior King room was huge! The massive balcony off the loungeroom had awesome views both day and night plus an extra balcony off the bedroom. Massive bathroom and all was super clean. Room service from the restaurant downstairs was delicious and so reasonably priced. We selected the buffet breakfast when booking and so glad we did! Countless hot and cold breakfast options to choose from. Could not fault the room, food, service or amenities. Just pre-warning the underground carpark is tight to navigate but definitely manageable, I was just glad my husband was driving lol"

"Originally booked a twin double room for me, my wife and our granddaughter as I was working in Brisbane and we wanted a change of scenery for my wife and granddaughter. Unfortunately my granddaughter became ill so my wife and granddaughter stayed at home. When I checked in I advised the hotel that only I would be staying for the two nights. Thinking Id help out the hotel room availability I said Id be happy to downsize, the receptionist asked if Id be ok in an Accessible Room which I accepted. I awoke at 2am thinking it was daytime as the room was lit up. Looked at the time and saw it was 2am then realised there was a large gap (30-40mm)under the door and the corridor lights were illuminating the room. After a bad night’s sleep I complained to reception who sent up a maintenance person who advised the door had to be like this to clear the sloping floor to the bathroom for wheelchair access. Poor design not an excuse. I asked if I could have my original room and was told I’d be charged for an upgrade. Told them I’d done them the favour originally so reception said theyd chat to management and get back to me. I was working late shifts and heard nothing back so had to try to sleep in the room again, packing pillows against the door base but light still made it in. There was also stains on the carpet, curtains also let street light in and when doors were closed in other rooms they clanged shut reminding me of a visit to Alcatraz! Little sleep for the second night. I feel sorry for anyone sleeping in that room in the future"

"For breakfast, they cooperated with another restaurant. The environment is very good and the choices are abundant. For accommodation, we are on the 8th floor, just in time to catch upstairs to repair the subway, it is quite noisy."

There is also the recently opened Ovello Bar & Kitchen, a light, bright and bubbly Italian style bar & eatery open for a la carte breakfast and dinner. Amenities include a heated pool, spa and gym.

"Excellent location. We had a nice spacious apartment. Very comfy beds. The shower screen needs attention as it leaked all over the bathroom floor. The shower head would not stay up, which was awkward and annoying."

Experience ultimate comfort at Mercure Brisbane King George Square, located within walking distance of Queen Street Mall shopping precinct, offering guests a full range of services and facilities in relaxed yet sophisticated surrounding. Facilities includ e restaurant, cafe, bar, fully equipped gymnasium and Brisbane's largest hotel conference and meeting space.

"The location is fantastic, right at the end of the main shopping street. You can literally just walk downstairs and you're there. We were able to walk to several attractions from the hotel. The front desk for check-in is shared by two hotels, which wasn't very clearly indicated, and I was quite anxious while waiting in line. It's a pretty big hotel with lots of guests, and no matter which building you're in, there's always an elevator out of order. It seems like they always have to have one of the three elevators shut down for maintenance."

"The environment here is absolutely impeccable, I must say. The lobby, rooms, pool, and rooftop restaurant are all beautifully decorated. As for the facilities, they're also excellent. Being a new hotel, everything is very modern. However, the bathroom has one major drawback: there's nowhere to put your phone if you're in the toilet area. Cleanliness is very good. Rooms are only cleaned if you notify the front desk daily, and that 'clean room' light doesn't seem to do much. Service, though, was just mediocre. The staff at the rooftop restaurant, in particular, had a terrible attitude, acting completely uninterested. The front desk staff were quite good at check-in, but poor communication during shift changes led to a significant amount of money being unjustly charged to my credit card. I only discovered this because I noticed the unreasonable charges in time. It took involving Trip.com and my bank to resolve it, especially since the charges happened 3 days after I had already left the hotel, with no email notification whatsoever. If I hadn't been vigilant, I wouldn't have known about these losses, as they only appear on the statement – this is truly awful. There's even one charge I'm still unclear about, but it's too late to investigate further. So, when staying at this hotel, you absolutely need to keep a close eye on your bill! This whole ordeal even affected my subsequent vacation, as I spent every day trying to sort this out!"

"We found the apartment was great!  The staff were very friendly and helpful. However being in our 70s and one of our us recovering from recent surgery we found the weather extremely hot and the walk to get to most places in that sun became more of an ordeal than a pleasure!"
