"Traveling solo to Tokyo, I'd never stayed in a hostel or capsule hotel before. But with Tokyo's high prices, I ended up choosing this Mystay after a lot of comparison. I figured after years in student dorms, there wasn't much I couldn't handle.
It was actually better than I expected. The design with the bed on top and luggage storage underneath is great, much better than bunk beds for easily accessing your belongings. However, it's a double-edged sword; some guests rummaging through their bags in the middle of the night can disturb your sleep. The bed was comfortable, and perhaps the relatively narrow, enclosed space gives a sense of security. Though, looking at the ceiling's shape, it does make you wonder if it's suitable for an eternal rest...
During my stay, I noticed groups of Korean and Western travelers who would chat loudly and comfortably in the common area, often forgetting it's a shared space that requires quiet. Personally, I find the sound of people tidying up acceptable, but I can't stand loud conversations. It feels disrespectful, and those guests seem too self-absorbed. I suggest the hotel should emphasize the need for quiet in common areas to groups traveling together.
The downsides regarding facilities are that the fan only provides ventilation and isn't very effective; it also can't regulate temperature, so it often got too hot to sleep at night. Also, the duvet insert constantly came out of its cover. While the hotel surely washes these regularly, it didn't feel very clean. I hope they can secure the duvet cover with ties or clips.
Overall, it's still quite good. If the average price were around 200 RMB per night, it would be excellent. However, I paid nearly 600 RMB for one night, which made it incredibly poor value for money."
