I stayed at Russell Court Hotel and overall had a decent experience. The hotel was very clean with everything well polished and tidy. As many reviews mentioned, there are clubs below so it is noisy at night. I had expected this beforehand and I am a heavy sleeper so it did not bother me too much. The hotel even provides earplugs which is a thoughtful touch.
The reception staff were polite although they did not have a spare comb when I asked. The lift is extremely small and only really fits two people at a time. This is something to keep in mind if you are travelling as a family or with lots of luggage.
The room itself was clean although the bathroom felt extremely outdated. It was functional but the taps were oddly reversed. The hot tap was cold and the cold tap was hot. On the positive side the room had UK plug sockets and USB ports which was very convenient.
Overall it was a clean and practical stay if you are prepared for the nightlife noise and do not mind some dated features.

Really happy with this hotel. Booked it last minute when I was late for my ferry and did not want to travel during the night.
The room was really clean and tidy. Receptionist Mauricio (?) was very pleasant and helpful. As I was not planning to stay in Dublin overnight, I had no toothbrush. I did not think that Travelodge can provide one, but there is no shame in asking. Hooray! I got a disposable dental kit, that really made my stay much more comfortable.
The hotel has a bar and a restaurant, it does look much more posh that an average travelodge. I wanted some ice for my drink at the room. Got a glass full of ice at the bar with no problem.
The only downside could be if you are a couple and travelling with 2 or more large suitcases. The room is on a smaller side.
Very happy with my last minute decision to stay at this hotel.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the service was warm and welcoming, but it didn't quite compare to similar rooms in China, so don't have too high expectations.
Arrived in the early hours of the after ferry cancelled and then delays. I notified reception of the change and Tomas informed me that the reception was 24 hours and I would be looked after and he would check me in himself. Arrived at 04.30 and met by night receptionist who took me to s room and logged my car registration.
The room was ok but for some reason the wind noise was loud. Next morning I explained to reception who moved me to a well appointed quiet room without any fuss or further comment. The remaining days of my stay were during the huge storm which hit the coast, During my stay the hotel felt safe and secure, and the staff were polite, helpful and pleasant at all times. The hotel may appear as 3* but the rooms and customer service was 5*. Highly recommended hotel based on my personal experience. A final acknowledgment to Ann Mary and Louise who contributed to lovely stay here.

Being after decades in Dublin again I realized the city has changes, seriously changed. Staying in the docklands therefore was a new experience. And actually I loved it. Yep, it is a 30 minute walk to the city center, so for those who want to be right within the action, this hotel is not for you. But those who enjoy taking a nice walk along the river Liffey will enjoy it. I also liked the quietness around the hotel, no party noise. The room was clean. Well, it is not a flashy hotel or room, but it has everything one needs. Price wise a fair deal, considering the crazy prices in Dublin. Nice breakfast made it easy to gain all the power needed for the stroll to the city ;) and the staff is competent, professional and helpful. I would chose the hotel anytime again.

The service was generally good, except for an issue we experienced with a staff member named Peter. Despite having a prepaid and pre-booked stay, we were threatened with cancellation because we requested to check in at 9:30 pm after receiving no response from the property. The automatic door was locked, there was no one at the check-in desk, and we had to ask another staff member to direct us to someone who could assist. Peter eventually came to help, stating he was doing so out of his busy schedule. I expressed that we would prefer to be checked in by the staff member assigned to that role, at which point he stated he would cancel our booking. When we asked on what grounds, he said he was the manager. It was an unusual and uncomfortable interaction, especially given that we were simply trying to check in to a stay we had already paid for.

The apartment is super close to the train station which was really handy for us! We had an early train and the staff made the early check out process super easy.
We were worried about the noise of the train being a problem but the train sounds were very quiet. We were also worried about being above a pub that it would be noisy, again not a problem.
The oven and cooking amenities in the apartment weren’t available for use for our stay. We only had a short stay and so this didn’t bother us, but could see how it would be frustrating for a longer stay if you planned on using them.

GGuest UserVery cheap and a great location, easy to walk to most major landmarks in the city. Friendly staff. Only small downside is that, although my room was very clean on arrival, it wasn’t cleaned again at any point during my 3 night stay (not sure if this is normal or only my experience). However, I would definitely still stay here again!
Wwt01cExcellent location, warm-hearted owners, clean, great breakfast, highly convenient eateries and grocery store within 100-300m walk. Easily accessible from airport by Bus #16 or 41 (loading bay at Zone 15, outside Terminal 1, direct, 14 bus stops). As the digital board and announcement in the bus is rather confusing, the best is to request the bus driver to inform you to get off at ”Shanvarna Road Est, stop 231”. Try to buy a Standard Leap Card from Terminal 1 Convenient Store for €10 (€5 deposit included), if not available, a Leap Card for single ride can be purchased at €2.60 or simply pay at bus with €2.60 coins. Upon checking in, walk 500m from B&B to Maxol Service Station Swords Road to purchase the Standard Leap Card, your single ride will then cost €2 only with free transfers within 90 minutes. Buses to downtown Dublin (14-17 stops) or other counties nearby are also available from the same bus stop across the road of the B&B. Returning from downtown will drop you off at the bus stop right in front of the B&B. The Comet (a local pub) and Centra Santry Village grocery store are within 100-200m walk from B&B, a pizza/burger take away and a Chinese Takeway are also available across the road. Owners are kind and friendly. Would recommend this B&B to everyone visiting Dublin especially solo traveler depending on public transport and prefers quiet places out of downtown.
LLinhlovestotravelOh my gosh. If you can't sleep with big bright exit light, do not book it here. It is so bright that some of the others also lost some sleep. The hostel was nice enough to change bed for me once but it was still so horrible. I couldn't sleep at all.
SSuperman_letsgoAcademy Plaza Hotel is quite convenient since it is located in the center of the city and the transportation is within distance.
It has the direct airport bus to come and go, where the stop is just a few minutes walking away. It is also close to the meeting points where most local tours park their buses and pick up tourists. So if you are planning to join local tours, this hotel should be on your list coz it is easy for a traveller to find the hop on point and also saves your time.
Since it is in the heart of Dublin, you can just Google the destination you wanna visit and walk towards it with your mobile phone. It will be a solo city walk.
Meantime, the staff here shows Irish hospitality and the coffee at Academy Cafe is so good.
It is an ideal choice for people travelling alone.

GGuest UserStaff were friendly, very helpful, and overall wonderful. Breakfast was very good. I was traveling some for the day, so the single bed bedroom was perfectly sufficient. Have a room for one for a slightly laser rate than a a larger room is an excellent option. Room had all the amenities I needed. View was excellent. Only knock is the constant bells from Christchurch cathedral literally a few hundred meters away. Bells can be charming, but I’m fairly sure they were ringing for 5 full minutes, then 5 minutes of silence, then 5 more minutes of ringing. It got a bit much. But luckily it was only during the day and I did not spent all that much time in the room.

TTkouTLocation: Great location, with a supermarket and a shopping mall nearby. There's also a bar downstairs where you can grab a beer. However, it's close to the tram tracks, so the rooms facing outwards can be a bit noisy.
Service: The male staff member that night was friendly and very helpful with any issues we had.
Facilities: The hotel facilities are good and quite new. But I was assigned an accessible room, which I heard hadn't been used in a long time, so the toilet had a severe odor. There were no other rooms available that day, so I had to endure the smell all night. The staff sprayed some air freshener, which was a nice gesture (and I appreciate it!), but it didn't really solve the problem. If possible, remember to request *not* to be given an accessible room!
GGuest UserThe Hendrick is a great spot to stay for only a night or two passing through Dublin but like many hotels in Dublin now, it's more or less a glorified hostel.
The room setup was a double bed and a bunk for three people yet it was so small we could hardly find room to unzip 2 small carry-on suitcases and organize our clothes. There's no space for a dresser or even small drawer, no fridge and there are no hooks whatsoever to hang anything. With three people in this room it felt VERY cramped, hardly any space to move in the short space of a ”hallway.”
For what you pay, it's disappointing that breakfast isn't included either. Again, Dublin hotels are out of control at the moment so it's not a horrible deal.
The STAFF is entirely lovely and helpful and it was very clean as well. Thank you!
But for a longer trip, find yourself a larger space.
