This hostel has an amazing location! There are several highly-rated restaurants from Dazhong Dianping's must-eat list within 1km. If you're coming to Xi'an for noodles, like me, you absolutely have to choose this place, haha! It's also very clean, and they ask you to change into slippers when you enter. This is the first time I've encountered a hostel that's both affordable and has strict rules (like no smoking, they have a dedicated smoking room). There's an elevator inside the hostel, but you still have to climb a small flight of stairs. The four-person room has eight people sharing two bathrooms. The only minor drawback is that both are Western-style toilets; it would be perfect if one was a squat toilet to accommodate different preferences. It's located in Dapi Lane, basically inside the Muslim Quarter, surrounded by delicious food. The downside to this is that shared bikes aren't allowed to park inside the alley; you have to find a parking spot at the alley entrance. So, no matter if you're taking a taxi or a shared bike, you'll have to walk a bit, but it's only a few hundred meters, so not too far. I truly recommend this hostel. I'm currently staying at a hostel in another city and constantly missing the facilities and strict rules of this one 😢

I stayed at Desti Hostel during 3 nights. Everything was amazing. The rooms and bathrooms were really clean. There is a whole female-only floor which is really great. They give you slippers to walk around the hostel. I used the washing machine and they were really easy to use through Alipay for a someone who doesn’t speak chinese, the reception even provides free pods detergent for your washing. You have also have a drinking water dispenser in the lobby The location is perfect, it is a 5 minutes walk to the Muslim Quarter, you are night next to the Bell Towerand you have a direct bus that leaves to the Teracotta warriors right next to the hostel. For anyone staying in Xi’An, this is a great way place to stay.

Great value for money, and the hotel location is very convenient for transportation. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and quick, and the self-service kiosks were easy to use. The room was spacious and bright with large windows, well-equipped, and quiet. The service attitude was excellent. It's a great choice whether you're traveling for business or leisure! Thumbs up! 👍🏻

The owner was very kind and had a great attitude. However, the facilities are a bit old, probably because it's been open for a few years. The room was a bit cold, but there was an electric blanket, so it was fine once I was in bed. The price was cheap though, so it wasn't a big deal, and the location was excellent.

The service was excellent. The aunt was also very nice. After checking in, she explained the route to Mount Huashan. She also told us that we could tell her in advance before going down the mountain so that she could help turn on the air conditioning in the room. The bed was very comfortable and it was a good sleep for those who are used to it. The toilet was a little small. Other services were very good.

Great location in the Muslim Quarter. Lots of food around, short walk to the bell tower, near the buses to the Terracotta Army, and a short subway ride to all the other main attractions. It’s down an alley, but there are a lot of signs t make to it easy to find, and it also means it’s very quiet despite being in the middle of a popular area. The owners were friendly. I visited in winter and they made sure the room was heated in advance of my arrival. It was quite cozy.

I absolutely fell in love with Xi'an! My best friend and I traveled here together for the first time, and we arrived at the hotel quite late. The location is incredibly convenient—very near to the subway station (abt 2km) and literally right next to the ancient city wall. Standing on the hotel balcony, you can look directly onto the city wall, which is super chill and atmospheric. The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and gentle. Also, a helpful tip: if you order delivery, just ask the courier to leave your package at the front desk. If you're used to staying in luxury hotels, this might not be your style—but it gave me more of a warm, cozy, family-like feeling. It's perfect for young travelers or groups of friends. Just one small suggestion for the hotel: it would be great if you could restock laundry detergent more regularly. Anyway, i love this hotel and if I have a chance to get back to Xian, I will back to this hotel!

The photos on Trip.com are misleading (too good compared to reality). The room we were assigned was also much smaller than the one we booked. We asked for a room change, but it was even worse, so we stayed in the original room. Based on the room photos, in terms of room amenities we expected to find: a bigger room with a desk and a chair (not a stool), a tv, and a coat rack. There is nowhere to hang jackets. The main issue though is that the hotel is old and poorly maintained. The room floor was dirty with food crumbs scattered around. The Wi-Fi is poor, barely usable. Some outlets next to the bed were not working. At least one bathroom light was not working. One bright side, excellent location for visiting the city and a very competitive price (now we understand why).

They were really nice and helpful. The bathrooms could be cleaner and I think they should put toilet paper. But for the rest, Location is perfect, there is a subway station about 300m away and the hostel's Cafe which is very convenient.

The experience was poor, despite the excellent location, complete facilities, and low price. The service was subpar, and I won't be returning. Deposit: The deposit is 50 yuan. Regardless of check-out time, it's refunded around 2-3 PM the same day (assuming no deductions are needed). Not having the deposit settled or confirmed as okay in person is concerning. If a dispute arises after leaving, the customer is in a very passive position. I really disliked this. Shoe Policy: You have to change shoes upon entry, and your own shoes must be left at the door, not taken to the room. When I asked what happens if shoes get lost, the staff didn't answer. For 200-300 yuan shoes, maybe it's fine, but what about 500, 700, or even 1000+ yuan shoes? Leaving them at the door, with no locked cabinet, not allowing them in the room, and without anyone taking responsibility if they get lost, is very unsettling. Compensation Notices Everywhere: Notices stated a 200 yuan per square meter compensation fee if water from the shower spills onto the floor due to not closing the curtain. Also, the sink couldn't be pressed forcefully, or compensation would be required if it broke. The shower design is flawed, potentially causing water overflow, yet guests are charged for it. The sink is flimsy, and instead of fixing it, guests are expected to be extra careful or pay for damages. Staying here means being constantly on edge (don't stain the sheets, don't break anything, be afraid of water overflowing from the shower, don't press the sink, change shoes upon entry). It's nerve-wracking, impossible to relax, and the experience was very bad. Risk of Electric Shock: Halfway through my shower, I saw a notice saying to pull the shower curtain to avoid the risk of electric shock! So, I was literally risking my life while showering! Even with the curtain pulled, there were gaps between the curtain and the wall, so water could still splash onto the switches. This is a problem a simple plastic cover could solve, yet it gambles with guests' lives. I wouldn't dare come back; I've never stayed in such a dangerous place. It might be 30 yuan a night, but it could cost you your life. Lighting: The entire corridor was very dim, with many energy-saving lights. Instead of bright and welcoming, the pervasive dimness made me uncomfortable. I don't like a dim atmosphere. The owner is very frugal. I turned on a spotlight, and the owner turned it off, replacing it with a dimmer light. The reason, again, was about money. The experience was very poor. Free Snacks/Massage Chairs/Toilet Paper: Despite the extreme energy saving, there were free snacks in the lobby. There was also a large TV for casual viewing, along with free coffee and tea. Toilet paper was provided in the restrooms. The bedding was clean, and slippers were disinfected after each guest. For me, the biggest highlight was the massage chair, which worked perfectly and was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. In my room, there weren't many tourists; mostly regular guests. Perhaps they were studying for postgraduate exams, unemployed, or on long leave. Everyone had their curtains drawn, so there wasn't much interaction. The room was facing the street and very noisy, and people tended to sleep late. Those who can accept all of the above might consider staying here.

SShoumiaoWe were five grown men and had a very comfortable stay. This is a B&B in the residential complex. It's beautifully decorated, quiet, and well-equipped. The floor heating was very warm, even with the windows open, it wasn't cold, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The complex is well-managed, and it's right next to Wanda and two snack streets! There's a wide variety of food options, but eating in the room was so comfortable that we deliberately packed up for two nights and played mahjong and poker afterwards...we didn't want to go out. Transportation is very convenient, and the subway station is just a short walk away. Two of the bedrooms are small suites, one with a private bathroom, and the other two share a bathroom. Three bathrooms are definitely enough. In short, living in this large flat is really comfortable!

AAz.IzThe wonderful service started even before we booked the hotel. We got their wechat contact from Trip.com and enquired 1,001 questions. Mostly unrelated to the hotel), but all our queries were patiently and clearly answered. We decided to book the hotel due to its wonderful location. A day before we are scheduled to arrive, we were given the exact location (best if use A-map) and clear instructions on how to get to the hotel & our room. As our flight landed after midnight at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, the Silver Shop will be closed & we have to use the back door. As pampered city dwellers, the place will look a bit worn out & run-down. However, their impeccable service & warm hospitality covers whatever flaws there might be. For example, it is really cold in January. The air conditioner wasn't enough for us. They gave us an extra portable one. We went to Huashan for three days, leaving the room empty. The lady boss ensured us the room will be safe to leave our things & wished us a safe journey. She took note of when we were supposed to be back in Xi'an, even when she herself was in the flight back to her own hometown. During our almost two weeks stay there, one day my husband fell ill and we had to stay in. I had trouble trying to order food online. The lady boss got her manager to come to our room and order food for us. Even though the manager can't speak English, he managed to help us. The lady boss is very fluent in English. Be it in text messaging or conversing. We find that a relief because usually we get lost in translation due to us not being able to speak or read Mandarin. We can understand bits and pieces, but we are not able to fully understand it. We were in Xi'an in Jan 2025. We were back again in Jan 2026. We plan to be back again in Jan 2027. If there is a vacancy, we want to stay here again. It snowed this year & we had fun playing with snow on the terrace. The location is wonderful. In the heart of Muslim Quarters. 2 minutes walk to Great Mosque, 10 minutes walk to Drum Tower. Between me and my husband, the feeling is mutual. We recommend this place. No matter how run down. The location, the service, the washing machine on 6th floor with a wonderful sunset view, the terrace, the big drafty room. All these things makes us feel heavy leaving Xi'an.

MM862346****I genuinely recommend this hotel! The room was spacious and bright, with excellent natural light and ventilation, and the cleanliness was top-notch. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and the service attitude was very friendly. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and getting around is convenient. It's quiet at night, not noisy at all, so I slept incredibly well. The value for money far exceeded my expectations, and it's definitely worth experiencing!

GGuest UserThis place was excellent! It's very conveniently located near the entrance to the Terracotta Warriors. The owner was incredibly hospitable, and our room was quiet. Traveling with children meant we needed to air dry a lot of clothes, and the facilities here made that very convenient. When there was a slight mix-up with our laundry, the owner happily resolved it without any fuss. Following the owner's recommendation, we drove just a few minutes to a local food street where prices were very reasonable, and the barbecue was absolutely delicious. Even though the weather was hot and the Terracotta Warriors were crowded, the private guide we hired was very responsible and thorough, even pointing out great spots for photos along the way. This was our first time in Xi'an, and we truly felt the warmth and hospitality of the local people. It's a shame we missed the 'Song of Everlasting Sorrow' show, but we'll definitely be back if we get the chance!

GGuest UserThis is a very mixed review. On one hand, the location was good, right next to the wall and with a 10-minute walk to the metro, and maybe a 20-minute walk to the Drum and Bell Towers. There is also a fantastic park right on the other side of the wall from the hotel. The room was huge and had great facilities. However, the service was pretty bad. The room was kind of cleaned some days, but never properly done, there was no fridge or tea and coffee in the room (even though it is beneath a cafe), and the guy working the desk was either never around or totally disinterested - I think definitely a different person from the ones in other reviews. So parts of it we loved and would recommend, and parts of it were just, well, weird!
