I was a bit apprehensive staying in what is described as Student accommodation especially as someone in their 60’s but I needn’t have worried. The building is very secure requiring the fob on your room key to get through at least 3 security doors to get to the room which is basic but clean and en suite. The accommodation is opposite the only Wetherspoons in town and about 15 mins walk from the station. So overall I would say the place is well worth the budget price charged
Advantages: Very distinctive B&B, breakfast provides food worth nearly a quarter of the room rate, very rich, and more optional meals. Downstairs is the owner's own bar, relatively lively at night but can't hear it upstairs.
Disadvantages: The room on the second floor facing the street can hear the sound of the car driving on the road below at night. The upper half of the window in the separate bathroom is open for ventilation, so the bathroom door must be closed to be slightly soundproof. The other facing room should be better. There is a always-on green light on the ceiling. I don't know what the effect is. I can't turn it off anyway. Fortunately, because I was too tired to fall asleep during the day. People with poor sleep should choose carefully.
In addition, the main entrance is not open until 3 pm, and there is no guarantee that staff will be there in the morning, so it is best not to expect to arrive early and store your luggage.
The kitchen was kept very clean, which left a good impression. However, it was a bit inconvenient as it's a walk in the opposite direction from the city center.
The room description was incorrect. The room was really tight for 5 person. We booked for 1 double bed, 1 single bed & 1 bunk bed, but we get 1 double bed bunk bed & another 1 bunk bed. It's difficult for elderly to climb up the bunk, we ended up pay for another 2 single beds in a separate room. The gave us a little discount for it.

The room was really well presented as was the rest of the building. Had a good size tv with all the smart apps you need. Cooking facilities worked well with enough to cook dinner and breakfast. Communication was really good with clear instructions and easy remote access. Would visit again.

We stayed in Room18. Landlady was very helpful, polite and let my kids play on the pool table. Abit of a pain with the parking but allowed me to use their personal car space which was very kind, even offered to pay for my parking ticket to start with. Hallways are warm and well lit. I would stay here again. Thank you
