Very Good
GGuest UserRight by the station, lovely service at reception, comfortable rooms, good continental breakfast, family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. There for the marathon, helpful to leave luggage all day. Thankyou.
GGuest UserPlace is very near to the Bus station which is the most important thing. Very polite and nice staff, accomodating and there is always someone in the desk when you need something. The place is clean, a bit old but still comfortable to sleep with. My kid is so happy, though it rained all throughout out visit. The only downside is no kettle for hot water when we want a hot drink. But our stay is still a pleasant experience for us.
AAnonymous UserThe facilities were good, queit single room, you have to come in with your food as there is no food service in the hotel. The location was perfect for me this time.
JJacinta CruzA decent accommodation for a short stay. The place even provides a mini kitchen space which was not initially advertised but was a plus!
Customer service was extremely helpful in terms of confirming the booking and figuring out how the shower works - apparently you have to pull a “lever” to turn on the shower, running water does not immediately come out of the shower as expected. Besides that minor hiccup, super easy to travel from this place given that the Huddersfield Bus Station is less than 10 mins and is reliable and is directly opposite the University of Huddersfield which makes it feel safe for a solo female traveller.
Check-in and checkout was easy given that you will have to refer to the email sent on the digital lock passcode for the building entrance and the room. There isn’t a reception or customer service desk - more of an Air BNB concept.
EEmily Cannon/The hotel is ideally situated in walking distance to most shops and the town centre.
It is not flashy and areas of the hotel are a little outdated but it was ideal for what I needed whilst visiting Halifax. The bed was comfy and the staff are super
friendly! I instantly felt welcome and very comfortable to ask for assistance if I needed it.
I would stay at The Old Post Office again.
Top tip: if you are a solo traveler and rooms are not showing as available, then phone The Old Post Office directly. I was told the rates are £48 per night for solo travelers.
