Good location for ADO bus terminal but a long way from the best beach areas (10 mins walk to access the beach due to the river running along and in front of the hostel so you have to walk up on to the main road and cross the estuary and back down to the beach, 45 mins walk to La Punta area along to the other end of the beach)
Es un lugar económico por lo que las instalaciones no esta del todo comodas, pero esta justo frente al mar eso le da muy buena opción. Debido a que esta frente a una calle muy frecuentada es un poco ruidoso.
Service is great. Hostel is run by enthusiastic young volunteers from around the world and they welcome you from the first moment. There is a WhatsApp group where activities are announced every day (that was something new for me) and also one can get Intel or help should they need to. I booked for one night but stayed four as the hostel is quite quiet so, you can rest despite the roof top bar that keeps the music there. Also free water is available.
One thing though that I didn't like was the all the time cold water at showers ❄️
That made me catch a cold 🤒
Nevertheless, I had a pleasant time in Puerto Escondido. Hasta luego

Let’s start with the lows. The hostel itself is aggressively barebones. The dorm rooms are tiny, airless, and deeply uncomfortable—less “budget accommodation” and more “temporary storage for humans.” Sleeping in them felt claustrophobic at best and suffocating at worst. The fans also squeaked aggressively all night. I wouldn’t willingly put myself through that again.
The bathrooms, while decently laid out, suffered from poor upkeep. The garbage bins were emptied so infrequently that overflowing trash became the norm, which is not the ambiance one hopes for when brushing their teeth.
Now, where credit is due: the bathrooms do have hooks and shelves for toiletries—a small detail many hostels somehow still fail to grasp, and it genuinely makes a difference.
The rooftop is another bright spot: spacious, relaxed, and a genuinely enjoyable place to spend time.
The staff also deserve praise. They put real effort into creating a social atmosphere, organizing events and excursions that were well-attended and made meeting people effortless.
Ultimately, this is a full-throttle party hostel. If you value sleep, personal space, or silence, look elsewhere. I won’t be returning, the dorm rooms alone were enough to rule out a return visit. Ginger Banana hostel, which is a short walk from here, looks & feels legitimately luxurious and yet it's cheaper.

ままりそThe appearance was nice in a hotel with a format!
The boy was kind and gave me chocolate on my way back, and kept my luggage for free, and it was very good!

GGeorge CyprusHotel is centrally located close to everythjng in walking distance. There is a kitchen area with coffee and water but we didnt use it.
Reception was great as they allowed us to check jn earlier and also booked us a taxi to the airport when we left.
Rooms are small but comfortable and with aircondition.
Bathroom and shower are good but our room was very smelly throughout our stay not sure where from, either the window which cant close or the toilet.
Quite noisy in the morning from all the birds in the garden which might wake you up if you wake up early easilly.
AAnonymous UserThis is a charming family-run hotel in Oaxaca. The place is spotless, with a great rooftop for breakfast—delicious, cheap, and with free coffee in the morning! The staff were super friendly and always smiling.
I know photos doesn’t look great but it’s much, much nicer in real!
The only minor issue is the main door at night—it’s locked, so you’ll need to knock and might wait a bit if the staff are asleep. Other than that, it’s clean, affordable, and full of character. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserLovely little place, there was nothing to fault with it but also nothing really blew me away. It has a sort of upmarket hostel vibe. Like it is clean, lovely service but the screen door to my room fell off, but they fixed it right away. There was a whole water cooler bottle of drinking water but the contraption to use it was a bit weird. The view from my room was amazing, but the whole place was just a little tired. Lovely people though and it felt very safe.
GGuest UserThe unit was very clean and the layout creates three different environments (sleeping area, tv-entertainment area, and the breakfast or working area).
I personally took advantage of all three areas during my trip. The devices, WiFi, safety, and security are upgraded. The lady in charge, Karen, was super helpful and friendly. She helped me to connect with a taxi driver that provided also an excellent service.
GGodinez AburtoThe hotel is totally new (remodeled) and clean, wifi is working great at all corners and location is really centric. The only little detail would be that every little noise from the corridor can be heard inside your room. Not a big deal since is familiar time friendly. Nothing that can damage the service and attention level.

Cchanges11Get what you pay for, does the job and very centrally located. Bear in mind there is no air con so it gets very hot. We found that opening the door and window (if you have one) before sleeping cooled the room significantly. Staff very friendly and helpful.
