In the afternoon in Central Park, New York, sunlight filtered through the sycamore leaves, dappling the benches and then sliding onto the grass. I walked along the winding path, the crunch of fallen leaves and pebbles under my feet. The pond water was a greyish-green, a few ducks creating ripples, the reflections of willows floating on the surface. Someone was feeding pigeons on the bank, breadcrumbs scattered, accompanied by a flurry of flapping wings. A squirrel peeked out from behind a tree trunk, its black eyes bright, clutching an acorn, taking a few bites, then stopping to look around warily. Around the bend, I heard the sound of a saxophone. An elderly Black jazz musician sat under a bench, playing, the notes drifting softly on the wind. Further on, on the stage, an elderly gentleman was rollerblading, his short, grey hair billowing in the wind. He was lean, his back ramrod straight, and when he turned, he ducked low, his agility like a fish making you forget his age. The park was filled with art sculptures and horse-drawn carriages. It was a large park with many people, but strangely, while sitting there, a thin, gentle joy welled up inside me, like ripples on a pond in the wind, slowly settling back down.

Motel vs Hotel: Which One Is Safer?

Hotel is more safer than motel!

Hotels are generally considered safer than motels because of their design and security features. Most hotels have indoor hallways, key-card access to rooms, surveillance systems, and 24-hour staffed lobbies.

Higher-end hotels often include additional safety measures such as secure parking, well-lit common areas, and on-site security personnel. These factors collectively reduce risks like theft, break-ins, or unwanted disturbances.

Motels, by contrast, usually have exterior room entrances that open directly to the parking lot. While this design makes them convenient for travelers looking for quick access to their cars, it also increases exposure to the public and makes it easier for outsiders to approach rooms unnoticed.

For these reasons, hotels are typically viewed as the safer choice.
