The Bund at night is absolutely stunning. Even with the light drizzle, so many people still went to the Bund to take photos.

The Bund is a must-visit in Shanghai! The mix of historic architecture with the modern skyline across the river is stunning, especially at night when the buildings light up. The view of the Huangpu River is beautiful, and it’s the perfect spot for photos or a relaxing walk. Highly recommend!

  • Visit the Shanghai History Museum, located on the first floor of the Oriental Pearl Tower, where you can learn about the folk customs and habits of old Shanghai citizens.

Pro Tips:

  • Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds.
  • Why don't you take a combo trip to the nearby Shanghai Ocean Aquarium or Jin Mao Tower!

An interesting experience. Beautiful views, but the food is rather monotonous. You can try everything, but there are only 4-5 truly delicious dishes. It's probably worth a try.

We bought tickets for the Trip; they were a little cheaper than at the box office. You show the QR code and get in. Since my child was over 130 cm tall, we bought an adult ticket. The climb up the tower is very fast, which can be hard on the head. After the tour, I felt a little dizzy, which went away after a day, but the discomfort lingered until the evening, and my child's ears were clogged. The glass-floored platform at the top is impressive; it's a little scary to walk on, but you get used to it. The show hall is also unusual; you can relax in massage chairs on the ground floor. There's a Burger King and Starbucks on site.

Top 3 Shanghai Skyline Attraction: Shanghai Tower

As China’s tallest building and the second tallest in the world, the Shanghai Tower provides an amazing bird’s-eye view of the entire city. Its observation deck on the 118th floor sits at 632 meters (2,073 feet) above the ground.

  • The world’s fastest elevators (reaching up to 18 meters per second) take you to the top in under a minute.
  • Enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of Shanghai’s urban landscape, including the Huangpu River’s winding path through the city.

Pro Tips:

  • Take great photographs on clear days.
  • Visit in the late afternoon to witness the city transition from day to night; stay for the sunset and take in the glittering skyline.
  • Don’t miss the higher 119th floor for more panoramic views.

Great view of Shanghai from the sky. We went on a pretty clear day with just light winds and cloud but when you get up that high the smoke or smog just much be to much or maybe just need slightly better conditions but well worth the view. Pretty interesting if you add the light show on level 126. My family enjoyed that just as much. Didn’t check out the restaurant. Check it out.

I took the subway there. At Lujiazui Station, I took the escalator and first saw the panoramic view of the three buildings. Then I walked to the basement of the building and entered the building. I took the world's fastest elevator, which runs at 18 meters per second. It felt super fast. It took less than a minute to get to the 118th floor. At night, there was a thin mist when I looked out, so I couldn't see very clearly, but it was still worth the trip.

It was exciting to rise to the height of 600 m in few seconds. My ears got blocked for a while. But it was worthwhile. The scenario at night was amazing.

Choosing the right day for this tour is crucial, so don't buy tickets in advance. We didn't know this and bought everything in advance. It was a sunny day, but the sudden warming brought a haze. It was thick in the morning, but it cleared up a bit in the afternoon. However, when we took the express elevator up to the observation deck, 118th floor, 546 meters above ground, Shanghai was still shrouded in a light haze. The view is certainly spectacular. In the evening, when the lights come on, it would have been even better, but we'd already seen Shanghai at night from the TV tower. Overall, we all enjoyed it.

  • Bring a camera with a good low-light setting for capturing night scenes.

The local price is 120 CNY. The slightly lower price is a plus, and for an additional 50 CNY onboard, you can enjoy unobstructed views from the stern seats. However, the ticket booth is quite difficult to find. It would be helpful if the exact address of the ticket booth was added to the sales page.

Board a cruise ship and cruise around the Waitan area. The night view is beautiful. It would be even better if there was an explanation.

Top 5 Shanghai Skyline Attraction: Jin Mao Tower

As a part of the Pudong skyline trio (alongside Shanghai Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center), Jin Mao Tower offers an observation deck on the 88th floor with breathtaking panoramic views.

Top 6 Places for the Best View of the Shanghai Skyline | Jin Mao Tower

What to Expect:

  • The deck provides a slightly lower but equally impressive perspective compared to the Shanghai Tower.
  • Admire its traditional Chinese aesthetics through its tiered pagoda-inspired silhouette and the use of the number 8 (considered extremely lucky to Chinese people)!
  • Less crowded than some of the other towers.

Pro Tips:

  • Consider visiting Jin Mao if you want a great view without the overwhelming crowds.
  • The tower is often included in layover tours.

Отличная обзорная площадка на 360 градусов, хороший вид на набережную Вайтань и Шанхайскую Жемчужину. Экскурсия стоит своих денег, однозначно рекомендую Один только минус - окна были грязноваты..

I highly recommend it. It's best to buy a ticket here for the trip. I wouldn't recommend getting an extra ticket for the laser show. It's nothing too special. If there's more than one of you, you can send one of you and watch the video later.

Insider Tips for Capturing the Perfect Shanghai Skyline

  • Choose the best time: The Shanghai skyline night view is spectacular, but daytime offers clarity for photography. For the best of both, visit during the "blue hour" just after sunset.
  • Check the weather: Check the forecast before heading to observation decks; fog and pollution can occasionally obscure views.

Beyond Shanghai Skyline

  • Water Towns: For a contrast to the urban jungle, visit Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, known as the "Venice of the East." It offers a glimpse into old China while being just an hour from the modern skyline.
  • Cultural Integration: Pair your skyline tour with cultural experiences like enjoying traditional Yue Opera or exploring the art of Gu embroidery to appreciate Shanghai’s full depth.
