Outstanding
GGuest UserI come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

NNannanzhiyuThis hotel is super convenient, just a few minutes from the subway station, right by Nihonbashi. The breakfast was good too, served in individual small dishes. If you get a corner room, the space is decent. The highlight for me was the hotel's public bath – I went both days I stayed there.

GGuest UserI've travelled to many parts of Japan for over a decade and in terms of ”a comfortable hotel with no complaints”, this is it for me. No complaints but I do have a small feedback which is to have the breakfast start at 6 or 6.30am for early/business travellers to be able to grab a bite before they can go about their day. Other than that, the room was comfortable and big enough for a small side sofa by the window, there were spaces to open a medium sized cargo bag, the amenities were sufficient and so were the Eco-friendly initiatives (room service, bamboo in place of plastic items), etc. There was also a decent humidifier provided during winter (but that was not enough for me who comes from the tropics), I had my own small humidifier too and still it was kind of dry (not a hotel problem). The view coming up the elevator and at the lobby was majorly impressive - boasting a skyline of both Tokyo Tower against Mt Fuji in the distance; during sunset, it was such a sight to behold. The lobby is big and has lots of rest/seating areas with some small amount of drinks provided from 5am to 10pm and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The service staff were impressive - knowing a wide range of languages and when they did not, remained unfazed and used translation tools. They were all polite, helpful and the F&B members too, made you feel like you were in some high-end restaurant. The artwork was also very nice to observe all over and if I have the chance to afford this hotel again, I'd do it in a snap. Other important notes are that there is a convenience store at B2 of the same building. Level 3 is a bridge that links you directly to Yurikamome line monorail -and a little further, to the Asakusa and Ginza lines from there. The Ginza honten (main store) Don Quijote is also a 10 to 15 minute walk from there and so are many local eateries (5 min walk) and shopping areas (Carote, 10 to 15mins walk).

NnelsonThe facilities are truly exceptional. Given the relatively limited space, everything is incredibly well-arranged, especially the bathroom which has a dry and wet separation. As for cleanliness, there's absolutely no need to worry; it's spotless. On the seventh floor, there were two very young and helpful staff members, a male and a female, constantly assisting guests.

Jjeffrey159I enjoyed the experience overall. The hotel is very close to the station, which made traveling around Tokyo very convenient. There is also a FamilyMart right below the hotel, perfect for quick snacks and essentials. The hotel has a hot spring and gym facilities, although I didn’t get the chance to use them during my stay. The room itself was super spacious compared to many hotels in Tokyo. The bed was comfortable, the bathtub was large and very clean, and I also liked the Bluetooth audio speaker provided in the room. My only complaint was the touchscreen air-conditioning control panel. It was not very responsive and honestly quite frustrating to use. I would have preferred a traditional remote controller instead. Aside from that, everything else felt modern, clean, and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

FFeierziThis was my third stay, and the hotel's location is fantastic, right inside the amusement park. Suidobashi Station is also incredibly convenient for transportation. The hotel is huge and very busy, but the price is quite reasonable. Given the volume of guests, it's understandable that the front desk staff might struggle to keep up. However, the self check-in/check-out machines are a nice addition. There are a couple of hardware issues: ① The elevators are very slow. Even with separate high and low zones, during peak check-out times in the morning, you might have to wait for several elevators before you can get down. I feel like the algorithm could be optimized. ② The rooms are advertised as over 30 square meters, but they don't feel that big – more like 25 square meters. It's hard to even lay a large suitcase flat. This is probably difficult to change. The biggest disappointment this time was that the Tokyo Dome City Attractions were closed due to ***. I tried to cancel my reservation a few days in advance, but it wasn't allowed, which felt a bit inflexible.

Vv8989Location was the main reason I booked this hotel and it was the right decision. The airport bus was right in front of the hotel entrance (5th floor) and you could see the Shibuya scramble crossing from the hotel elevator. Very convenient stay!

GGuest UserHotel location was ideal. It was relatively near to the Shimbashi station and Ginza station. Lots of shops around Ginza that are few minutes walk away. Noted the room had a pamphlet for ¥1000 should we not request for room service. Throughout the 6 nights, no one offered the voucher which was weird as I stayed at the Lively, Osaka and was offered the voucher upfront upon check in. Understand it might be a different process and procedure but if there was going to be a voucher, it should have been more upfront and transparent. On the 4th night, requested for bottled water and was seemingly questioned if I requested for room service which i denied and was given a rather doubtful look. Not the best experience with the agent but was a pleasant stay nonetheless.

WWangDANDANFacilities: Very comprehensive. B2 is the smoking area, and there are full amenities like a gym and hot springs. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the hot springs because I have tattoos. Hygiene: The room was cleaned spotlessly every day. After cleaning, there was a sweet note and some chocolate 🍫. Environment: With a view of Tokyo Tower right outside the window, the environment speaks for itself – absolutely beautiful. There's a park downstairs. The bar on the 33rd floor has a comfortable atmosphere, and guests staying here get a discount, but seats closer to Tokyo Tower cost an extra 3,000 JPY. Free use of the Premium Club Lounge: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can all be enjoyed here, and the food was quite delicious. However, the club only operates until 10 PM. Still, it's free, so I can't complain. Service: Overall, my experience here was excellent. The only slight drawback was the inconsistent service quality. The front desk staff on my first night were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. However, when checking out, the front desk attendant seemed a bit unhappy. I thought perhaps they were just having a bad day, which I can understand. But their impatient tone afterwards made me feel a little awkward. Nevertheless, it was a nearly perfect stay, leaving me with wonderful memories of Tokyo! I look forward to staying here again!
