I genuinely recommend this hotel; the overall quality far exceeded my expectations. The lobby is grand and spotless, creating a wonderful atmosphere that instantly brightens your mood upon entering. The guest rooms are a good size with a well-organized layout, and the washroom is clean and refreshing with a consistent and ample hot water supply. The front desk staff are patient and enthusiastic, always going the extra mile to help with any requests, providing truly heartwarming service. The hotel's hygiene is rigorously maintained, with every nook and cranny meticulously cleaned. The location offers convenient transportation, making it a stress-free and comfortable choice for your travels. Definitely my top pick!

The room was huge, 60 square meters, and the hotel's location was excellent with plenty of amenities. I highly recommend it for families with kids. This was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at during my 8 days in Dalian. For the price, I felt it offered great value for money. The butler who checked us in was very enthusiastic, breakfast was abundant, and the hotel's service, in particular, was exceptional.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the high standards set during my first visit.During my first stay, I was incredibly impressed by the outstanding hospitality of the front desk lady who assisted me. She personally accompanied me to my room to ensure everything was perfect, seamlessly arranged my taxi bookings, and made sure my transport arrived exactly on time. Her attention to detail made me feel valued.Regrettably, no one provided that level of care during this trip. The check-in process felt purely transactional—the front desk staff simply handed me my room key with no extra effort or welcoming gesture.I chose to return because of the exceptional service I received initially, but this second experience felt indifferent. I hope management can train all staff to deliver the consistent, high-quality service that made this hotel stand out in the first place.

My stay at the Lavande Hotel Dalian was fantastic! The location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around, and the surrounding commercial area is well-developed, so dining and shopping were a breeze. The room was spotless and odor-free, and the 'forest air purification system' made the air fresh and comfortable. The Mousse mattress was soft and supportive, ensuring a really sound sleep. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch, making shower time incredibly relaxing. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and very responsive. Check-in and check-out were handled efficiently. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of options, both Chinese and Western, and everything was nutritious and delicious. Overall, it offered great value for money, with attention to detail and a refined, quiet environment. It's perfect for both business and leisure travelers. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Dalian!

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Dalian Golden Pebble Beach for two nights over the Dragon Boat Festival, booking two rooms, and we were absolutely delighted! From the moment we checked in, the service was exceptional. The front desk staff were all incredibly welcoming, especially Yi Yangqianxi, who even upgraded our rooms. We had a fantastic view of the ocean from our floor, which was such a mood booster. The hotel itself has a vibrant musical vibe, with a distinct rock 'n' roll flair 🤘. The rooms were great too. It's right by the beach, and Discoveryland is only a few hundred meters away, so the kids had an amazing time. The breakfast selection was quite diverse, with something to please everyone. In the evenings, we also visited the hotel's own bar and enjoyed a couple of drinks – it was fantastic! There was even a foreign resident singer who performed beautifully, making it a perfect spot to unwind. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit!

Shangri-La Hotel Dalian

I was a bit apprehensive before entering the room, mainly because of the negative reviews I'd seen before booking, which made me quite hesitant. Plus, it was the last day in Davos, and with people checking out continuously, I wondered if the hotel could clean the room in time – a real test of their service. However, the moment I opened the door, I was pleased. It was much better than I expected, and the night view from the window was quite nice. After looking around, it met my expectations for a family room. Most importantly, the kids liked it, with a carpet flight chess game, three TVs, and two bathrooms – essential for families traveling with children. While the room facilities had an older style overall, I didn't find them as bad as the negative reviews suggested. Of course, after putting down our luggage, I did notice some flaws, like fruit pits and bookbinding fragments that hadn't been cleaned up promptly. More issues cropped up during our stay. Although the lobby manager repeatedly apologized for the shortcomings before we checked out and even gave us a small gift, hoping we wouldn't write a review, my child expressed a wish to stay here again on our way home. That's why I'm writing all this. I hope the hotel can demonstrate the professionalism expected of a Shangri-La and make further improvements. After all, the problems we encountered shouldn't be excused by regional differences between north and south. Service has no regional boundaries; it's all about the experience. On a positive note, the hotel's QR code room service is commendable, and the cleaning staff's attitude was excellent. The pool is great for kids to play in and adults to relax; just remember to wear slippers as the room slippers aren't waterproof. The hotel's location is also good. Strolling towards Zhongshan at night with the sea breeze is a pleasant experience. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride to city attractions like Venice Water City and Central Plaza. Perhaps it was luck, but I even got a BMW, Denza, and Tesla as taxis – quite fortunate given the fast-paced Dalian ride-hailing drivers. So, overall, my few days here were good, which is why I gave the environment a high rating.

Ibis Hotel (Dalian Airport Huabei Road)

This was my second time choosing this hotel for a layover because it's close to the airport. Last year's stay was great, the price was reasonable, and the receptionist was very friendly and attentive. This year, I booked a standard double room. When I arrived, the receptionist said the window was an interior view window facing the corridor. Since I need a window in my room, I asked how much an exterior view window would cost. I think booking directly through Ctrip usually costs an extra 40+ RMB. Of course, I didn't expect the hotel to upgrade for free, so I asked the receptionist how much extra it would cost. She looked at the computer screen with a calculating expression and said, ”Add 99 RMB.” I said, ”Oh? Isn't it only 40+ RMB?” Then they asked for my ID. I didn't say whether I needed it or not. Seeing that I didn't react, they didn't look at me, still looking at the screen, and said, ”Okay, here's 49 RMB.” I said, ”No need. The original room is fine.” This is supposed to be a proper hotel, but upgrading a room is like a free market? The TV remote was covered in a thick layer of dust, probably because it wasn't used often and the staff hadn't cleaned it properly. I pressed a button and the TV turned on, but then the remote stopped working. I opened the back cover and saw that the batteries were chewed up and bent out of shape – I wonder how long ago it was? Was it a previous guest or a staff member? My flight was at 7:30 the next day, so I asked the front desk for a 5:00 wake-up call. The receptionist was very responsible. The hotel doesn't offer airport shuttle service before 7:00, so I hailed a taxi outside the hotel. It was easy to get a taxi.

Pullman Dalian

I stayed here in 2023 when it was still a Kempinski. The spa and bakery left a deep impression on me. Since 2026, it has rebranded to Pullman by Accor, without closing for renovations, so the facilities remain unchanged. This time in Dalian, I revisited the hotel. Having been open for over twenty years, the facilities are indeed quite old. The room has a lot of heavy wooden furnishings, which must have been a significant investment back then. Many of them are no longer very smooth to use, such as the wardrobe sliding doors and bathroom drawers. They are difficult to move, and any attempt to do so would require major renovation. This also applies to issues like only having a charging port on one side of the bed, which many guests complain about. Personally, I quite like this old-fashioned, substantial hotel decor style; it lacks the cheap feel of some newer high-end hotels. Old is fine, as long as it doesn't affect normal use. The faucet is a Danish brand, possibly a concept product more focused on styling. It has a strange push-button operation. Some are smooth, others are very stiff and difficult to use, making it hard to control water flow and potentially scratching hands. The bed and sofa are very comfortable. It took me a while to find the light switches in the room, only to realize they were on the central control panel – a small, inconspicuous box by the bedside. The service is still good. It's peak season now, but I was still able to check in at the regulated time. This time, I bought a package through Trip.com, which included breakfast for two and dinner at Paulaner. It was a great value. The front desk even upgraded me to a better room type in a separate building, the VIP building, which has less than ten rooms per floor. Regarding the food: The breakfast variety is decent. The menu listed omelets, so I asked the chef to make one, and it tasted good. For milk, there was hot whole milk and cold skim milk; cold whole milk would have been a nice addition. The bakery, no longer part of Kempinski, has changed its products. My favorite chocolate croissants are gone. I bought some sliced cakes, and they tasted good. Paulaner has an excellent environment with a great atmosphere and live performances. The service is also very attentive, and guests get a 25% discount. However, pizzas take a long time to prepare; I waited over an hour for mine. The spa and pool are still the same as before, with an exotic flair. Several hot tubs and my favorite steam bath were all open and functioning. The pool is deeper than usual, at 1.5-1.8m, and it wasn't crowded, making it very peaceful. My main suggestions are all regarding the facilities: 1. The wooden furnishings that are not smooth to use should be repaired. 2. Add a charging port to the other side of the bed. 3. Replace the strange faucets. 4. The two panels of the curtains should not be on a single track; they need to overlap to prevent a gap, otherwise, how can light be blocked effectively?

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The location is fantastic – within a 1km walk, you can reach many highly-rated restaurants, major shopping malls, and the Qiyi Morning Market. What's even better is that after our room upgrade, we had a view of Zhongshan Square! After checking out, Amber from the concierge promptly called to let us know we'd left some items behind and kindly offered to hold them for us. We really felt the warmth of Dalian through her service!
