Find 4-Star Hotels in Dalian

A good hotel is key to a successful trip! This hotel is very close to Xinghai Square, and across the bridge is an amusement park. The paths are flat, perfect for strollers or 'baby walkers' (though the area right outside the hotel entrance has cobblestones, which can be a bit bumpy for strollers). The room environment is excellent. We are a family of five – four adults and one child – and stayed in the 'Star Blue' room, which was perfectly spacious. It had a 1.8m bed downstairs plus a tatami mat upstairs, and even a single sofa that could be used for sleeping. The space felt generous. There's also a private little courtyard where you can hang kids' clothes to dry (as long as it's not raining). The hotel has a laundry room with a dryer, so no more bringing dirty clothes home!

I'd stayed at an Atour 3.5 in Qingdao before, so when I saw this new Atour 4.0 opening in Dalian in 2025, and it was close to Dongguan Street, I booked it well in advance, thinking Atour's service is always great for a trip. I had high expectations, but the actual stay was a bit disappointing. 1. I booked a room without breakfast. Last year, during the off-peak season in September at the Qingdao branch, they directly offered complimentary daily breakfast for two throughout my stay, which was a great experience. This hotel only offered one day of complimentary breakfast for two. I tried the coffee machine in the public area downstairs both morning and evening, but for three consecutive days, there was no milk, so I couldn't make coffee properly. The self-service beverage experience was poor. 2. The room hardware was brand new, and basic cleanliness was acceptable. However, there's still a lot of room for improvement in the maintenance of public facilities and service details. The cleaning staff came daily during my stay and did clear the trash, but they only re-made the bed simply, and visible hair on the bed wasn't cleaned. 3. The soundproofing in the room was poor; I could clearly hear noise from next door. On the last night of my stay, the TV inexplicably turned on by itself in the middle of the night for some unknown reason, severely impacting my sleep experience.

🍭Room Layout: The room was exactly as shown in the video – spacious, bright, and elegantly decorated, a real treat for the eyes. The indoor bathtub was fantastic, and the kids absolutely loved soaking in it! 👍 🇨🇳Public Areas: The lobby is elegantly decorated, offering activities like calligraphy practice, playing the zither, and DIY bracelet making. My husband even made two bracelets himself, which he really enjoyed. 🥇🏎️Location: Excellent! It's right by the sea, just a few minutes' walk to Xinghaiwan Amusement Park. The park is huge with tons of activities; the kids went on the go-karts many times, and we even rode the Sunset Coaster together. It's also very close to Xinghai Square, which is a great spot to photograph the cross-sea bridge and feed the seagulls. 🍔🍻Dining & Seafood: The hotel breakfast was surprisingly varied and delicious. We missed it the first day because we woke up late, but on the second day, my husband brought it back to the room for us to eat (photos will be attached below). It's also easy to find good food nearby, as it's very close to Xiding and Where Where. 🌊🏝️Beautiful Scenery: From the room, you get an unobstructed view of the cross-sea bridge. The 6th-floor terrace also offers stunning views, perfect for photos of the bridge, along with some beautiful flowers and plants. Finally, a word about the service: the staff were very friendly and attentive, helping with luggage and more. We truly felt at home.

This hotel very quickly became my ”home away from home” in my first city to stay in in China.  My room, while inexpensive, was large, clean and very comfortable, with a great bathroom and overall plenty of room for all my bits and pieces.  First and foremost though I have to praise the staff, all of whom were very helpful, and assisted me to book taxis, food, procure miscellaneous items I needed, and generally operated ”above and beyond the call of duty”. The morning buffet breakfast, available for a modest price, was extensive and in a very nice atmosphere.  Whether you wanted western cuisine or a very Chinese breakfast, all the choices you might want are there. Oh and plus a very modern laundry room with washing machines, dryers and steamers meant that I always had clean clothes when I needed them (unlike the past when I alway had to use a ”laundry service” which was expensive and inconvenient. I loved my time at the Crystal Orange Dalian Huanan Square Hotel so much that I extended my stay by 2 weeks. And the next time I go to Dalian, I sure know where I'm staying!

Our second stop on the trip was Xinghai Square, and our room's window faced the square directly. There were restaurants right downstairs. The room wasn't huge, but it was clean and tidy, and the facilities were relatively new. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and they even had a robot to deliver items. The hotel had a unique Qingqiu Fox theme, which was quite special. The only downside was that the road leading to the hotel entrance was under renovation, and there was a strong smell of garbage, which wasn't a great first impression. Oh, and one more thing, the sauce in the rice noodles for breakfast was incredibly salty; they really need to improve that!

I came to Dalian this time for a football match. I hadn't stayed at this hotel before, but after this visit, it completely exceeded my expectations! First off, the location is on par with hotels like Orange and Atour, but the price is competitive and the service is just as good, if not better! Secondly, the hygiene is excellent, and the cleaning staff are very polite and helpful. The front desk staff were patient and well-mannered, even reminding me that the mini-fridge drinks were complimentary. Although I didn't drink any, it shows their attention to detail and service awareness! My comment about it exceeding expectations isn't just talk; usually, you get what you pay for, but this place offers a service experience that goes beyond its price point.

My overall experience during this stay exceeded expectations, with the most impressive aspect being the quality of cleanliness in the room. Upon entering, there were no strange odors, and the entire environment felt fresh and airy. The floor was spotless, free of dust and debris, and surfaces like the desk, TV cabinet, and window sills were wiped clean with no residual stains. The bedding was neatly arranged and clean, with the duvet and pillows feeling dry, odorless, and comfortable to the touch. The bathroom, often a key test of hygiene, was also impeccable: the mirror was free of watermarks, and the sink area was tidy. The shower glass was sparkling, and there was no scale or hair around the edges or drains. The toilet was thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Even easily overlooked details like the gaps in the nightstands and the room corners were meticulously cared for. The glassware was neatly arranged, and the trash cans were promptly emptied. It's clear that the housekeeping staff are incredibly meticulous in their work, strictly adhering to cleaning standards, and not just doing a superficial job; every aspect was perfectly managed. The clean and reassuring living environment significantly enhanced the comfort of my stay, alleviating travel fatigue. I sincerely commend the hotel's hygiene quality and will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

Value for Money:★★★☆☆ * The spectacular location justifies part of the cost, but improvements in cleanliness, balcony comfort, breakfast variety, complimentary beach activities, and dining value would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. Would I Recommend It?✔️ Yes The breathtaking beachfront location and incredible views make this hotel worth considering. With a few improvements in comfort, cleanliness, breakfast options, complimentary recreational activities, and pricing, it would provide an even better guest experience.

The hotel exceeded my expectations! The lobby has a elegant and comfortable ambiance, with complimentary herbal tea always available, making it a very pleasant place to relax. The room was clean and bright, equipped with comprehensive smart facilities. The lighting and air conditioning could be controlled with a single touch, which is a godsend for lazy people. The cleanliness was meticulous, and the service was warm and attentive. Plus, the surrounding transportation is convenient, and it offers great value for money. I highly recommend staying here!

The hotel is conveniently close to the airport, which is great for catching flights. They offer a shuttle service; just contact the front desk in advance and they'll drop you off. If you prefer to walk, it's only about a ten-minute stroll.
