"This hotel is located in the Gaozhuang scenic area, just a few minutes from the night market! Downstairs, there are all sorts of great food options, leisure activities, and massage services. Being right on the Lancang River, you get amazing, wide-open river views with plenty of natural light. The facilities are complete, the bedding is comfortable, and everything is clean! The hotel's breakfast restaurant also offers river views, and the breakfast spread is rich and varied. The front desk service is warm and attentive; they even gave us a welcome gift, which was a lovely touch! I sincerely recommend this place."

"InterContinental Xishuangbanna Resort Review The InterContinental Xishuangbanna boasts an excellent location on the former site of the Dai King's Palace, immersing guests in a rich Dai-Thai atmosphere. Upon entering, it feels like stepping into a tropical paradise. The resort grounds are expansive, lush with greenery, and peacocks roam freely, making every turn a picturesque photo opportunity. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, featuring private balconies with scenic views. The decor incorporates ethnic elements, and the bedding and bathroom amenities are high-quality. Soundproofing and privacy are also excellent. Breakfast offers a wide variety, including local Dai snacks, as well as Chinese and Western dishes, all tasting great. Family-friendly facilities are top-notch, with ample swimming pools, children's activities, and cultural experiences. The service is warm and attentive. Overall, it offers great value for money and a full resort experience, making it a prime choice for luxury accommodation in Xishuangbanna. "If you're staying in Gaozhuang, this hotel comes highly recommended. If you prioritize quality, stay in the West Tower. The East Tower is apartments. The location is excellent. While it's hard to get a taxi to the Botanical Garden, it's just a few minutes' walk to the bus stop for public transport. A big thank you to Xiaoyu at the front desk for her excellent service and for upgrading us to a river view room. From the balcony, you get the most perfect night view: the night market, bonfire party, and the Six Nations music stage. You can even stand on the balcony and join in the fun below! But when it's time to sleep, closing the window blocks out the noise completely. Early sleepers might find the river view rooms a bit noisy. My daughter said after staying here, she felt like the 1600 RMB we spent on the Atour Jingta Temple for the previous two nights was a complete rip-off. This room is also incredibly spacious. The only downside is that this room type doesn't have a bathtub. During Chinese New Year, breakfast was a little crowded."

"Extremely satisfied! I originally planned to stay in Xishuangbanna for 5 days, but ended up staying for 10 because the hotel provided an excellent travel experience. The location is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of Gaoguang Xishuangjing. It's super easy to get around for shopping, dining, catching taxis, and meeting up for day tours – all just a few hundred meters away. The hotel offers great value for money. There are 4 elevators, so you barely ever have to wait. The rooms are very large and spacious, complete with a sofa, and the bathroom is also sizable. All the facilities are well-equipped and easy to use. The view from the room is a huge mood booster, offering a panoramic sight of the entire Gaoguang scenic area, including the Lancang River, the Grand Golden Pagoda, the Starlight Night Market, and Peacock City – truly delightful. The hotel service is also excellent; they offer free airport pickup and are always ready to assist with any requests. Booking Xishuangbanna tours here is even cheaper than booking on the street outside. Plus, the hotel rates are affordable, so there's no financial burden for accommodation. All in all, this hotel offers great value for money and is highly recommended."

"Choosing a hotel in Xishuangbanna was incredibly difficult, but after much deliberation, I settled on this one. I stayed for four nights and was generally satisfied, with both pros and cons. Pros: 1. **Great Location**: It's very convenient for visiting attractions in the city. A taxi to Gaozhuang, Manhena, or the Botanical Garden takes about 10-20 minutes, and the Wild Elephant Valley is a 15-minute walk. For someone like me who prefers to avoid major tourist traps, this distance was perfect. 2. **Excellent Service**: Even during the off-season, I was able to arrange a pickup service last minute using a 7-seater business van. They also offered three meals a day, Chinese-style simple meals, which were decent. Considering they were complimentary, it really added to the emotional value of the stay. 3. **Mall Accessibility**: The hotel is right next to a mall with direct elevator access, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. Our room was on the very end, but we didn't experience any noise issues. 4. **Responsive PR/Staff**: I booked a family room, but after spending an afternoon there, I found the elevator noise to be bothersome. The hotel promptly upgraded us to a two-bedroom suite, which was 300 RMB more expensive, and as an apology, they provided a children's toiletry set. During our four-day stay, we also received fruit plates on two of those days. A big thank you to our butler, Coco, for her excellent service. Cons: 1. **Family Room Location**: My biggest surprise was that the family room was right next to the elevator, separated by just one wall. Normally, hotels place guest rooms a bit further from elevators or use the space next to them for linen closets. Here, the headboard wall of the family room was directly against the elevator shaft, and the noise inside the room was even louder than being inside the elevator. The hotel mentioned that all family rooms are next to elevators, which I find very puzzling. Of course, as I mentioned, the hotel upgraded us for free, which I'm very grateful for, but I still hope they address this issue. 2. **Lack of Security**: There's no access control between the guest rooms and the outside, meaning non-guests can walk directly to the room doors. Especially with the hotel being adjacent to a mall, this feels a bit unsafe, and I hope they improve security. 3. **Non-Smart Toilets**: The two-bedroom suite, perhaps due to lower occupancy, did not have smart toilets. Suggestion: The staff didn't seem to smile much and appeared a bit unhappy with their jobs. Perhaps improving employee benefits or providing training would help. A simple smile and a 'good morning' can significantly enhance the guest experience and emotional value. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. Perhaps the king and twin rooms are their main offerings. I would choose to stay here again next time, but I definitely won't be booking a family room or kids' room again! 😂"

"The room was generally clean and odor-free, and the staff were all polite and thoughtful, proactively asking about guests' needs in detail. My favorite part was the laundry room, which was clean, hygienic, and well-equipped with supplies, greatly solving the hassle of being on a business trip. However, the room's cleanliness still needs more meticulous attention."

"Facilities: The hotel is newly renovated, and all facilities are new but have absolutely no smell. The mattress is really comfortable—soft yet supportive. The pillows are also very comfortable; I had a rare good night's sleep! Cleanliness: Full marks! The cleanliness is excellent; every nook and cranny is spotless and there are no unsanitary corners. Environment: The lobby is very spacious and has a warm atmosphere. Service: Special mention goes to the receptionist; she was warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Although it was a last-minute stay, check-in was completed quickly. Very satisfied! I especially want to mention the breakfast. Although it was peak dining time, the food was fresh and delicious, and tables were cleared quickly and cleanly."

"I visited Jinghong aka Xishuangbanna n March 2025 for a weekend vacation. I'm an American female solo traveler with very basic Mandarin skills and it was not a problem to have great service at this hotel. Jade works at the hotel and was incredibly kind and helped me with everything. Her delightful service made my whole experience go from very good to excellent--she is a valuable asset for all English speaking guests. The room was clean, spacious and had a nice view at a reasonable price point. I could walk to Manting Park and take a quick Didi to other tourist attractions. Empark's prime location next to a large golf course gives the hotel a serene feeling, yet you're still close to all the action and can see the beautiful river and neon buildings from the glass elevator. The hotel food is decent, and there are some nice local touches like having a tea room in the lobby as well as a big night market within walking distance (everything at about half the price of Gaozhuang). Warning--no pool as of the date I visited although the website says they have one. Overall, very good location and quality to price ration, with Jada's outstanding service elevating"

Some room types even have balcony bathtubs with pagoda views – perfect for photos. 📸 **Photo-Op Hotspots** 1. **3rd Floor Infinity Pool:** Surrounded by palm trees, the pool water glows at night, with the Gaozhuang nightscape as a backdrop. The ambiance is simply unbeatable. 2. **9th Floor Rooftop Bar:** This is the best spot to get a panoramic view of the Grand Golden Pagoda and all of Gaozhuang! Watch the sunset in the evening, enjoy live music at night, and sip a drink with a gentle breeze – pure bliss. 3. **Lobby and Hallways:** The hotel itself feels like an art gallery, incorporating many peacock and elephant elements, along with Dai ethnic totems. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to snap resort-style photos that look like they're straight out of Southeast Asia. 🍽️ **Thoughtful Touches** * Breakfast is served until noon!
