The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. CCocodaiTraveling with both the elderly and young kids, we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to get away for the weekend. I had already set my sights on this hotel, and the drive here was smooth. The hotel grounds are lovely, very peaceful and comfortable. No TV is actually a genius move, really good! It really helped my family focus on relaxation and the outdoors.
The kids absolutely loved the private hot spring. They were a bit disappointed they couldn't go into the public one, so for 468 for 2 hours, we booked a private one for them to enjoy. It was fantastic, especially the little milk bath – so refreshing and cool.

The room was spotless throughout my stay, with crisp, clean bedding, fresh linen, and well-maintained towels. The bathroom and amenities were equally clean, and the smart room features worked perfectly. I especially loved the “sleep mode” function, which turned off the lights and closed the curtains automatically — such a thoughtful touch that made it easy to wind down without even getting out of bed.
The location is also a strong point. It’s close to supermarkets and smaller local restaurants, which was very convenient day-to-day. While it’s a bit further from the main built-up city area, it’s still within walking distance of livelier spots. What makes it particularly special is its proximity to nature — being close to the mountains and nearby national parks is a big advantage if you enjoy that kind of setting.
In terms of amenities, I really appreciated the free laundry (wash and dry), as well as the steamer provided for clothes — both were incredibly useful during a longer stay. One thing to note is that this branch doesn’t appear to have an on-site restaurant, even though one may be mentioned in the listing. A gym and spa are also advertised, but I didn’t personally see or use them, so I can’t confirm their availability.
My only real downside was that the walls are quite thin, and noise from other guests could sometimes be heard. However, the staff handled this situation very well when it arose.
What truly stood out to me was the staff. They were consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated that they spoke English well, which isn’t always the case even in larger cities. They went above and beyond — even adding me on WeChat to assist with questions, provide recommendations, and check in when needed. Their kindness and attentiveness made a big difference in my stay.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for travelers who value cleanliness, thoughtful amenities, and genuinely excellent service.

GGuest UserThe hotel is directly opposite the Bifengmen parking lot, and it's about a 20-minute walk to Lizheng Gate of the Mountain Resort. The quad room with bunk beds was very family-friendly for our family with two children.
While the hotel's facilities are fairly basic, I must particularly praise their excellent 9.9 Mountain Resort day tour and the front desk staff.
First, regarding the Mountain Resort day tour: it lasted a full 5 hours, and our guide, Xiao Qi, didn't waste a single minute. He provided thorough explanations, meticulously planned our route, and there were absolutely no sales pitches or additional charges. For such an honest and dedicated guide, the hotel deserves a huge commendation!
And then there's the front desk staff – every single person was beaming with smiles. They offered detailed information, provided attentive service, and went above and beyond to assist with any request. They even helped us cut a watermelon we bought, booked tickets for a show, and thoughtfully provided cushions for us as we were heading out. Truly heartwarming service!
Hidden gem: Just down the stairs next to the hotel is the Temple of Confucius. Plus, there's a highly popular lamb soup spot nearby, serving delicious *shaobing* (sesame flatbreads)!

The room was spotless and tidy, and the bedding was so soft and comfortable that I slept soundly all night. Service was good they told us about some tours they offer discounts on and a cool show about an emperor that has like 300 actors in it. Was cheaper than just buying it at the location
I booked this because my wife said it was more “central” it was not. Kind of in the middle of nowhere tho near a temple we did visit. The other hotels are near the river and you can walk and see some real nice bridges and lighted up streets.
The photos make the building look really cool. While the photos aren’t fake it’s way smaller than I thought it would be.
The room itself was kind of small. Like half the size of the phoenix hotel and is only 4 floors so not much of a view. Mine was of a parking lot.
Bathroom was nice the toilet was automatic and had a heated seat.
No breakfast. Bed wasn’t all that comfortable and not much of a view. Did have a shopping center next door and taxis stopped near it.
Kind of pricey but that was because of the 7 day holiday they had. I stayed at phoenix the week before and it was 200 rnb cheaper, nicer, more modern, twice the size, nicer shampoo/soap and had free breakfast.

LlienesadventuresA great hotel for families - quiet and peaceful. The suite was very large with 2 separate rooms and a nice balcony. The ”panda theme” was a big hit with my kids. They loved it. There were free water bottles, coffee and tea in the room. The overall cleanliness was excellent - a very clean bathroom and shower, sparkling white linens and towels. The only negative in regards to cleaning was the floor - it was mopped but visibly not clean. My kids' feet were black after walking on the floor for just half an hour. That could be an improvement. The beds are pretty hard - good for those who enjoy it. The staff service was great. We overslept breakfast time and the front desk called the restaurant and asked them to wait for us so we could eat. The location is also very convenient with free car parking. We would definitely stay again.

QQianqianxiyuI recently visited the Chengde Mountain Resort and stayed at the Guanrong Holiday Hotel. The experience was fantastic, and I had to share my thoughts.
Location and Transportation: The hotel is perfectly situated, right next to the Mountain Resort and not far from Erxianju Commercial Street. It's very convenient for exploring the Mountain Resort, dining, and shopping on the commercial street. Taxis and driving are both convenient. Parking is available, but there are currently no charging stations.
Hotel Facilities: The bedding was soft and comfortable, with the mattress and pillows having the perfect firmness, allowing for a good night's sleep. There is a public restroom on the first floor.
The breakfast selection was quite good, with basic fare like bread, fried dough sticks, coffee, milk, and soy milk, as well as some simple stir-fries and fried rice, which basically satisfied my breakfast needs.
Service: I received a free room upgrade, and the hotel staff were warm and friendly. From check-in to check-out, their professionalism and attentiveness were evident in every aspect. The front desk staff handled the process quickly and efficiently, and they also proactively provided information about nearby tourist attractions and transportation.
Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel. If you're visiting the Chengde Mountain Resort, this is a great choice.

GGuest UserAfter entering the city, we walked a little further and found a very quiet courtyard! We booked a room with a small balcony. It was very clean! There's an infinity pool on the third floor; next time we come in the summer, we'd book a room on the third floor—it's very convenient for the kids to play in the water!
The beautiful owner and her family were very welcoming. They helped us with our luggage upstairs when we got out of the car. The owner's house is in front of the door. That's where the photos are taken. The courtyard is also very photogenic at night!
When we arrived, the owner brought us afternoon tea, which was homemade and delicious!
The breakfast was also plentiful, all freshly made! The kids ate well too!
