GGuest UserSimilar - perfect - review for the other booking we made for September. As mentioned, friendly owner upgraded us to the suite (3 rooms + living room + kitchen) for 2 nights, then we went to the rooms we had booked initially, as another family had booked the suite. Photos are of 1 of the rooms in the suite, with attached garden, but upstairs isn't too different (4 rooms, all brand-new). Everything is very clean, as advertised. Owners do speak some English, so no problem communicating (anyway, my wife, daughters and sister-in-law speak Chinese so it wouldn't have been a problem). Owner also arranged for a car to bring us to the various entrances, and the train station the last day, so it was all very smooth, we only had to climb the Great Wall, which was gorgeous (we knew Jinshanling is one of the most beautiful sections). We look forward to coming back, at a different time of the year (end of winter or end of autumn), so we look forward to coming back again... and tasting your cooking too ! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable !!!

The mattress was incredibly comfortable, and they offered a selection of pillows to suit individual preferences. The room was generously stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks, which were replenished whenever we ran out. The provided tea selection was excellent, and in the evening, we had a complimentary matcha experience delivered to our room, which we could prepare ourselves. The service was exceptional; a dedicated butler was always on hand to assist with any needs. The bathroom amenities were also high-quality and very pleasant to use. All these thoughtful touches created a truly special and refined experience. They provided comfortable pajamas in the room, perfect for wearing directly to the hot spring baths – a truly considerate detail. Overall, my child absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave. We definitely want to visit again.

RReaishenghuodenaibaWhen I came to Chengde, I chose to live in his hotel. His home is a bit far from the Mountain Resort, but it is very close to the local commercial street and you can easily experience the local life. The hotel room is very well decorated, the facilities are very new, the scenery outside the window is also great, and the staff in the room is equipped with small, smart curtains, children like it very much. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry and the smart toilet lid is very clean. We set a family room, the area is relatively satisfactory. Breakfast, 18 yuan per person, is probably the level of a fast hotel. However, one thing to pay attention to when staying at this hotel is that their underground parking lot has no elevator. You need to walk up. There are not many parking spaces on the ground. There are about 10 parking spaces. The hotel management staff may help you stare at it and occupy the parking space. You don't need to climb the stairs when you park on the ground. This is indeed not so good, but considering the price of their home and the corresponding facilities, it is still a very cost-effective hotel. If you come to Chengde, you can recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel is directly opposite the Bifengmen parking lot, and it's about a 20-minute walk to Lizheng Gate of the Mountain Resort. The quad room with bunk beds was very family-friendly for our family with two children.
While the hotel's facilities are fairly basic, I must particularly praise their excellent 9.9 Mountain Resort day tour and the front desk staff.
First, regarding the Mountain Resort day tour: it lasted a full 5 hours, and our guide, Xiao Qi, didn't waste a single minute. He provided thorough explanations, meticulously planned our route, and there were absolutely no sales pitches or additional charges. For such an honest and dedicated guide, the hotel deserves a huge commendation!
And then there's the front desk staff – every single person was beaming with smiles. They offered detailed information, provided attentive service, and went above and beyond to assist with any request. They even helped us cut a watermelon we bought, booked tickets for a show, and thoughtfully provided cushions for us as we were heading out. Truly heartwarming service!
Hidden gem: Just down the stairs next to the hotel is the Temple of Confucius. Plus, there's a highly popular lamb soup spot nearby, serving delicious *shaobing* (sesame flatbreads)!

RRudmer WigleI had an excellent stay at this guest house. The family that runs it is very friendly and very helpful. Not a lot of English is spoken, but don't let that deter you, it's a very welcome place and they'll take care of your needs. They can provide a lot of info on visiting the Wall and the location is just a hundred meters from the entry gate to the Jinshanling Wall. Even though it's still a few 100 meters walking after that, this is the closest you can stay in case you want to get on the wall for sunrise. Dinner was very tasty. I would definitely come back!

GGuest UserWhen I went out for a trip, I chose to travel nearby. It is said that Chengde is a treasure land. As expected, the hotel I chose from among hundreds of choices surprised me very much. When I checked in, I wanted a sunny and quiet room. The front desk staff was very proactive in arranging it for me. The room was also very clean and comfortable, which made my trip perfect. Next time I stay, I will still choose Lanhai Hotel.

GGuest UserLocation: Relatively superior. There is a river in front of the hotel, which is said to be the mother river of Chengde. It is very beautiful to take a walk at night and enjoy the night view. It's easy to walk to the summer resort. There is a supermarket next to it and a restaurant in the hotel. I eat three meals a day in the hotel. The dishes are rich and the prices are acceptable. I highly recommend it.
Service: The smiling service at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic. The Chengde travel guide was clearly explained. If you don’t know the guide, just ask them directly. I told them the wifi password and phone number, and if I have anything to talk to the front desk.
Room: Very clean, the quilt smells like sunshine, the bed is comfortable, I slept until dawn
Parking: There is a parking lot and a responsible security guard.
Environment: The hall is very elegant, beautiful, quiet and comfortable. It is really good to listen to piano music in the lounge hall.
Overall: I am very satisfied with my stay. I will stay here again next time. I recommend it.

TTommy ChawAt the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a
price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

AAnonymous UserI would like to highlight three things in which I felt were very pleasant during my stay at the lodging.
First, I was pleasantly surprised at the service they offered. When my family and I were staying at lodging, the workers were extremely heartwarming and kind. They were willing to answer any questions we had about the attractions nearby and even drove us to the Jinshan Ling Great Wall of china Nearby.
Second, I would like to highlight the amenities and activities offered at the lodging. Although we only scratched the surface of the activities they offered. The lodging provided us with countless options. From having a mini movie theatre as well as pool & billiards room, they also offered a wide range of outdoor adventures such as kayaking and fishing which will surely enrich your stay there. Furthermore, the amenities themselves at the room we were staying in were exceptional. The lodging was spacious and provided us with separate rooms to stay in, making our stay an extremely pleasant one.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the food at the lodging itself. At every lodging one books I’m sure one would look forward to having delectable food right within a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, the food offered by the lodging from breakfast to dinner was both delicious and affordable.
I would highly recommend booking a stay here should you want to visit the attractions in the area but don’t forget to take time to enjoy and experience the adventures offered by the lodging too!

AAnonymous UserThe service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was very satisfied with the late check-out service. The hotel's location is also excellent, with the entrance to the scenic area just 50 meters from the hotel. However, my only dissatisfaction was with the room's cleanliness. The upholstered black fabric headboard seemed to attract a lot of dust, and it looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. Turning on the electric fan was an absolute disaster – dust and lint flew everywhere, causing my nose to itch severely and making my breathing uncomfortable. Even the bedside lamp switch was visibly covered in dust. I sincerely hope they improve their housekeeping standards in the future.
