JasonnXGood stay overall. Ando Hotel is very convenient, only about a 5-minute walk to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with luggage.
The room was comfortable, but there was no hairdryer or fridge, which may be inconvenient for some guests. Cleanliness can also be improved, as there was dust on the toilet door.
Overall, good location and service, but basic amenities and housekeeping could be better.

Kevin S Tan1st time in batam and also the 1st time staying in Harper Premier Batam. Overall is good but the room amenities should be improved, should have pen or pencil with paper included inside the room amenities, we came down to front office to ask for a hotel pen but they informed not provided instead we buy from 24hrs supermart. Daily refilling only free mineral water but not the coffee tea sachet and fresh towels
When we checked into the room, we found the only coconut water with an empty packet inside the refrigerator. We came down to check with the front office about the items chargeable. only the informed certain items are chargeable, including the coconut packet inside the mini refrigerator. We informed them about the EMPTY packet inside the refrigerator, and they noted only. We do not want later when check out the hotel charges us for the empty packet which we didn't consume.
In the 1st place why they don't explain when we checked in what inside the room, especially what items are chargeable and the next days until the check out the empty packet still attached inside the refrigerator.
Why didn't the housekeeping didn't check all the amenities in order before releasing the room?
The front office needs to improved on customer services, the bellman service is average but the food and Beverage Service is good.

Dean StantonMy intention here is to provide a 100% fact based, detailed and balanced assessment of the 360° experience of this property.
But before we jump in to the details, let me first say that *for the discounted VIP member price* paid on this occasion, we are 100% satisfied with our stay at MAXONE Batam (with one notable exception, see below).
A big thank you to the management and team (especially front desk and concierge) for an *almost* perfect 👌🏼 stay.
First visited MAXONE Batam six months ago when newly opened. A very positive experience, but my initial impressions were that overall facilities available were quite limited given the ambitious price point.
This second stay confirmed my initial observations, after 6 months of operation.
Quality of welcome is very good, front desk and concierge extremely professional. Well done 👏🏼.
Main public areas and rooms are immaculately clean and well maintained.
If you want 100% immaculately clean rooms, this is, however, probably your best choice today in Batam.
Linens are top quality, fresh and clean. Abundant and carefully selected pillows. Very large king bed. If your objective is a good sleep, this is pretty much guaranteed.
However, we have the following observations that indicate the typical prices asked for the standard Deluxe King rooms are ambitious and too high for what you get:
- Breakfast not included
- No pool or gym
- Deluxe King rooms very narrow and claustrophobic for two people with luggage and shopping (but the bathrooms are a good size)
- It's clear from the layout that whoever did the interior design of the Deluxe King rooms is not accustomed to, and does not have appropriate experience of, designing for compact room dimensions - much could be learned from the efficient layout of similarly compact (19m2) rooms in eg Denmark, Sweden, about the optimal use of space.
- Unacceptable WiFi connectivity, whether you are a business or leisure traveller. Latency (often over 1000ms) in particular is problematic. Over 100 tests conducted on 5 different devices over 48 hours at different times of day and at all locations at the property. This is clearly a conscious cost based decision by the hotel operator and not a technical limitation, certainly not in a newly constructed property. This is particularly an issue for local business travellers such as myself because 4G/5G cellular connectivity with XL, Telkomsel etc at this location at Jln Sriwijaya / Kampung Pelita is extremely poor and always has been.
*Summary and conclusions*
We've stayed at almost all 3*, 4* and 5* properties in the Riau Islands over the past 10 years. This includes the two most recent 5* star properties and several newly refurbished 4* star properties in Kota Batam.
As a ”user chooser” business owner who travels and works remotely 300+ days a year, I don't have a set ”budget” or ”price range” for hotels and apartments I select. I'm interested in the services and facilities received in relation to the actual price paid (after my usual VIP / frequent traveller discounts).
On this occasion, my VIP member prices mean I paid very competitive prices for this stay.
As a result I'm 100% satisfied with my stay at MAXONE Batam, with the exception of the WiFi provision which remains unacceptable in such a property given the kind of target customers the property would like to attract as guests.

Guest UserThe hotel is very clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is small and dirty when we were there. Kids walking around at the breakfast area and jumping in and out from the pool to breakfast area. No proper towels provided for the pool. My room is clean but face a block of construction wall which looks really eerie at night. I think they are in the midst of extension their hotel. Blackout twice but power came back fast. Despite the small imperfect, it is still a very comfortable hotel which I will go back to in Batam.

Nur Alfia SariIts my 2nd time staying here in the same room type. Room is clean and tidy. We received a room with a smart TV previously but the room we received currently, is not a smart TV. We checked with the receptionist and they told us that all rooms are not equipped with a smart TV. -1 point for no smart TV.
Breakfast has a wide variety but it was not as delicious compared to my previous stay - maybe it was because we stayed on the weekdays this time round.

ivan tohStayed at Batam City Hotel recently and the experience was average overall. The room had several maintenance issues — the flooring had visible cracks and we had to wear slippers to avoid getting splinters on our feet. The bathroom shower head was spoiled upon check-in, though the staff did help to replace it after feedback, which I appreciated.
Another issue was the aircon. It was quite noisy and the room never really felt cool enough. I requested for a room change but was informed the hotel was fully booked and no alternative room was available, despite checking in on a Thursday during a non-peak period.
Service from staff was still polite and responsive, but the room condition and comfort level definitely need improvement.

AnnieECFGreat experience in this hotel, although slide uncomfortable experience with the arrangement of the rooms, as I requested 4 non-smoking room but got smoking rooms instead. However, front desk was able to squeeze in 1 nonsmoking room for us, which was still bearable. One of our family members had her birthday on the 2nd day of the stay, so the staff was able to light decorate the room, and have a special arrangement for breakfast. Great experience for us!

Guest UserIn my opinion, the room was a bit dirty with old paint, and the kitchen sink was unusable. The kitchen equipment was basic, and the bathroom was just okay. The view, however, was great; we could see the city of Nagoya, and the night view was beautiful, allowing us to watch the go-karting. There was no Qibla direction marker, the Wi-Fi didn't work properly (it kept cutting in and out), and the TV only had YouTube. This was quite disappointing, especially since it was our anniversary, and we couldn't watch any other channels because the Wi-Fi was so unreliable. So, overall, I'd say it was just an average apartment stay.
Thank you
