"I booked this hotel for my boss's family who were returning from the US. My main reasons for choosing it were its convenient location and the availability of a triple room. However, the platform later informed me that the payment couldn't be processed and cancelled my booking, forcing me to rebook at a higher price."

Hotel near Beitou Hot Spring Area,Taipei
The hotel is located in the Beitou area, and is designed in the spirit of the Lanting preface, "The Flow of Water", with "Taisho Romance" as the main axis. The hotel is equipped with a white sulfur hot spring suite, a Nikkei hot spring bath, a wine cafe "Musk" and a "Traveler's Study" focusing on food, travel and video.

"The photos accurately depict the room; it's quite small, so you won't be able to open your luggage. The soundproofing is honestly a bit lacking. The spa area, however, is quite spacious, and the overall style of the hotel is traditional/antique."

"Overall, my stay was very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and a well-developed surrounding area. What impressed me most was the room's view – Taipei 101 was clearly visible from the window, offering different beauty both day and night. Especially when the lights came on at night, the entire city's atmosphere was captivating, giving a relaxing and therapeutic feeling. The room itself was clean and tidy, with efficient use of space. DDaodaodemamaThis was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental hotel, and it was in Taipei. Even though the hotel has been open for many years, it's still one of Taipei's top-tier luxury hotels, and the price isn't even that high. The Capella across the street is almost twice the price, so the Mandarin Oriental definitely offers better value for money. Their breakfast also blows the Grand Hyatt's out of the water, even though the Grand Hyatt claims to have the best food. The ambiance here is also excellent, and while the service is good, it's not top-notch. I once said ”sorry” after not quite catching something over the phone, and I got yelled at... Also, the hotel fan needs to be purchased at the gift shop, as does the teddy bear. They did send a bookmark to my room once, but it was to the wrong room, so they resent it. The lady in the white uniform at the front desk was exceptionally kind and beautiful. There was another lady in a black uniform who kept speaking English to me even after I started speaking Mandarin. I thought she didn't know Mandarin, but then she switched to Mandarin when I didn't understand her.

GGuest UserVery good and sizable room. The decor is a bit dated but the overall experience is great. Special thanks to Jenny and the valet staff for helping us make restaurant reservations and communicate with the taxi who tried to overcharged us.

GGuest UserWe stayed on the executive floor, one-bedroom suite with lounge access and were extremely disappointed by the service quality. Housekeeping was far below 5‑star standards — our bedsheets were never changed once during our 6‑day stay, and even the daily bed‑making was sloppy and careless. The executive lounge experience was equally poor. We stood at the counter waiting to be checked in while three staff members were present. Only one was serving a western guest; the other two completely ignored us. After waiting several minutes with a toddler, we walked in to find a seat first. A staff member then approached us impatiently, telling us we “should have waited outside,” despite the fact that they had ignored us the entire time. The attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming. For a hotel that markets itself as 5‑star and charges premium rates, the service and attention to detail were nowhere near acceptable.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: There's a 7-Eleven nearby and a FamilyMart right across the street, which is quite convenient overall. However, it's a bit far from the subway station, at least a 15-minute walk. The hotel can help call a taxi. Service: The service was good. On the first day, my room had a very strong perfume smell, which made me uncomfortable as soon as I entered. I immediately contacted the front desk to request a room change. After about a 10-minute wait, staff assisted me in successfully changing rooms! Throughout my stay, all my needs were met to my satisfaction! The hotel offers views of Songshan Airport and Taipei 101 on one side, and the Ferris wheel 🎡 on the other!

AAdonis_ToThe hotel boasts an excellent location. Upon exiting Xinbeitou MRT station, it's immediately visible across the road to your left. The service was also top-notch. During check-in, I was offered a unique tea, and the process was completed swiftly. A staff member assisted me with my luggage to the room, explaining the hotel's facilities and complimentary activities along the way. During my stay, activities included an escape room, a 'night witch' tour, and a yoga class. The staff also informed me about the breakfast restaurant's location, explaining that some items are a one-time serve, while others are all-you-can-eat. They even recommended the ********* beef noodles. Once in the room, they thoroughly explained its features and offered helpful tips. The hotel's proximity to the library, Beitou Geothermal Valley, and the Hot Spring Museum makes it incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!

JJD 508This trip exceeded all our expectations! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during check-in. When they learned it was our anniversary, they even upgraded us to a Maple Forest Room and surprised us with a lovely small cake in the evening, which made my wife very happy. The hot spring quality and facilities were top-notch. Although the water filter in the indoor water dispenser needed replacing, the staff quickly provided bottled mineral water. Overall, the minor flaw didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended!

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

JJLun3388Sweetme Hotspring Resort is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from Xinbeitou Station and conveniently close to many restaurants. One of the highlights of the stay was the spa experience. Guests can enjoy both the private in-room hot spring and the public spa facilities. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Breakfast was another strong point, with a good selection of food to start the day right. Overall, Sweetme Hotspring Resort delivers a well-rounded experience with great amenities, a prime location, and a relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely come back again.

GGuest UserI loved the outdoor hot spring pools, there are several ones of different temperatures and features. Staying in the hotel allows you to use the outdoor pools for free. It was relaxing to soak in the hot spring pools while enjoying the fresh outdoor air. Inside the hotel room also has hot spring tubs. The room was a bit dated, but clean and tidy overall. Breakfast was quite good too.
