Someone may feel it old, but I do enjoy staying in a hotel which was decently built.
Price is not high for its location to Tube station, but not too bad, just ten minutes walk.
I recommand this hotel to everyone , especial for a leisure trip for several days.

"Next time I'm in Taipei, I'd love to stay at the Grand Hotel again! I particularly enjoy hotels with a rich history, and the Grand Hotel was the perfect choice in Taipei. We stayed in the Kirin Hall in the back building, and they provided a dedicated car to take us there, even helping with our luggage throughout the journey – truly excellent! The Kirin Hall rooms offer direct views of Taipei 101, which was fantastic. The hotel also has two secret tunnels that guests can tour, and since we stayed for a week, we got to see both, which I really enjoyed. A huge convenience is the free shuttle service; besides the regular shuttle to Yuanshan Station, they also offer a weekend service to Jiantan Station. The only minor improvement I'd suggest is for the housekeeping to be a bit more meticulous (it's already very good, but sometimes I noticed a few hairs that weren't cleaned). Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I'll definitely be back!"

"The room's cleanliness was decent, and the service was good. You can self check-in, and there's a common area where you can sit and use your laptop. I booked a standard room, and the space was alright. However, the main window faced the street, which was a night market, so the noise from traffic at night was very loud and affected my sleep. The hotel breakfast was pretty good."

"I booked a hotel near the station to participate in the Taipei Marathon, and I thought it was a good distance since I wanted to use Songshan Airport for my return journey.
From Exit M6, head towards Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei and turn left. You'll see McDonald's and Sushiro (known as 'Sushi Lang' in Taipei), and the hotel is right there. There are also plenty of food stalls and restaurants in the vicinity, and you can exchange foreign currency at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi.
The National Taiwan Museum is also within walking distance, and Taipei Main Station offers excellent accessibility.
The front desk is on the 11th floor, and there are water dispensers on each floor, so you can refill your water whenever needed. (I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and they provided 3 bottles of water.) There's a nice surprise when you check in: you get some snacks."

Perhaps because it's a family room, I only found one power outlet in the entire room. The phone seemed to be out of order. It looks like they're renovating."

"A great choice for solo travelers. The capsule bed is clean and they even have more storage for you to keep your things on the head side of the bed. Very convenient so we don't have to go back and forth retrieving our stuffs from the luggage. They also have mirror on each capsule (very thoughtful!). Free flow of hot drinks and snacks in the kitchen and they provide free bread at 7-10am every day in the mornin
The location is very strategic, not even 500m from the M8 gate of MRT Taipei Main Station. Tips for those who are arriving in Taipei by airport MRT, TRA or THSR, do not make the same mistake as mine by taking the main exit from the station building because you need to cross the street by using the bridge. Just look for M8 MRT exit (escalators available) and you'll be fine."

"was told we got an upgrade on check in, but upon entering the room, we were invited by a strong musky smell coming from the carpets. only after we turned on the aircon the smell became better. aircon was also showing servicing required when we entered the room and switched on the aircon. they also had one of the thinnest, lowest quality hotel slippers, so bring your own if you cannot walk barefooted in the hotel room. location of the hotel is within walkable distance to shihlin night market though, and was very near the metro too."

"Good location for major attractions, restaurant consider Halal friendly, can choose anyyhing you feel not syubahah. I avoid taking meat such chicken. My room is twin double not very solat friendly, if anyone ever went to Japan Hotel that kind of feel. Toilet have bump gun that a plus."
