I stayed at the Shangri-La during my May Day holiday trip to Hohhot. I was a bit worried beforehand about the hotel being older, but the reliable service exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent; it's a short walk to MixC Shopping Mall, and not far from Dazhao Temple and Saishang Old Street, making getting around very convenient. I stayed in an Executive Suite, which had a one-bedroom, one-living room layout. The separate living room and bedroom made for a spacious and bright environment, perfect for traveling with two kids. They had already arranged an extra bed for my older child and a cot for the younger one before we checked in. The most delightful surprise was how the hotel showcased the grassland culture everywhere. The lobby featured yurts and hada (ceremonial scarves) to welcome guests, and horse-themed artworks were visible throughout. You could even try on Mongolian robes for a free photo op, allowing us to experience the rich Inner Mongolian culture without even leaving the hotel. Breakfast also had a strong local flavor. There were freshly made lamb shaomai, authentic lamb offal soup, and Mongolian milk tea – all the local specialties you could wish for. The Executive Lounge offered soft drinks, snacks, and fruits all day. During happy hour, the light dinner included about six hot dishes, with main courses ranging from shaomai to pizza and sushi. The service, from the doorman to the cleaning staff, was warm and attentive. The swimming pool was heated, and the fitness facilities were well-equipped. As an established five-star hotel in Hohhot, it's well-maintained overall and highly recommended!

The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and processed our check-in quickly. They also provided a detailed explanation of the hotel's facilities and services, which was a very thoughtful touch. They always greeted guests with a smile, creating a really warm atmosphere. Room service was prompt; whether we needed fresh towels or other items, they were delivered to our room very quickly. The staff provided attentive service, from the concierge to the housekeeping aunties, everyone had a smile on their face, making us feel right at home. The staff were very professional and resolved any issues quickly, which I was very satisfied with. The breakfast selection was also very extensive, and there was a free car park, making our stay very pleasant and comfortable!

My stay at Shangri-La Baotou far exceeded my expectations! Even before checking in, I received a call from the hotel arranging the room according to my preferences. Upon arrival, the concierge proactively helped with luggage, and the front desk staff were warm and meticulous, introducing the hotel's restaurants and fitness center. The room was clean and hygienic! I've had their shaomai before and it was good, but this time I was particularly impressed by the new mutton buns at breakfast – absolutely amazing! My family really enjoyed the freshly fried dough sticks. Overall, the entire check-in process was excellent, and the hotel's location is superb! It's only about a 15-minute drive from the highway exit! Finally, a special shout-out to Avila Wang.

Location: Situated right by the main road in Hohhot, with a Wanda Plaza nearby and a food street in the residential area behind. It's also very close to the East Station and the Inner Mongolia Museum. Environment: The hotel boasts luxurious decor with a distinct ethnic flair. Although it's not new, the facilities are well-maintained. Room: The room size isn't particularly large, but the layout is quite functional. The air conditioning was advertised as adjustable, but it consistently showed 24 degrees Celsius for both nights I stayed, which felt a bit warm. Breakfast: The breakfast is quite commendable, featuring a good selection of local Mongolian specialties. The lamb offal soup and shaomai were both delicious.

Six months later, I returned to the Airen Wenhua Hotel, and the experience was as warm and welcoming as ever. After finishing my business that day, I drove over 300 kilometers back to Hailar and checked into the Airen Wenhua Hotel. It was pouring rain, and I was dusty and tired from the journey, burdened with heavy luggage. After such a long drive, it's easy to feel mentally exhausted and flustered. The moment I arrived at the hotel, I was deeply touched by the warm service. The doorman proactively stepped forward to open the door and thoughtfully helped with my luggage. The room manager, along with the service team and interns, gently and meticulously assisted with the check-in process. They even remembered me as a returning guest and treated me with extra care. Knowing I had a lot of luggage, the staff helped me all the way to my room, ensuring I was comfortably settled, truly embodying what 'feeling at home' means. The entire check-in process was efficient and smooth, calm and orderly throughout, without delaying my itinerary or causing any rush. The hotel room's environment and cleanliness were outstanding as always. The bedding was clean and soft, and the hot water flowed quickly with ample pressure, providing an excellent experience for those who love to shower. The overall living comfort was exceptional. The quality of the hotel's breakfast was consistently excellent, with the signature roasted lamb leg having an authentic flavor (especially the high-quality chive flowers). My taste buds truly enjoyed the local specialties. This year, they've even added an executive lounge afternoon tea service, with exquisite and delicious small cakes that bring joy. The view from the executive floor window is expansive. This time, I happened to experience Hailar's rare spring hailstorm. The wind howled and rain and hail mixed outside the window, but inside, I felt warm and secure, quietly appreciating the outdoor scenery – a truly therapeutic atmosphere. The hotel offers exceptional value for money. Its management system is well-established, and the service team is highly professional. During meal times at the restaurant, the hotel's excellent manager personally oversaw operations, meticulously observing guests' dining experiences and the quality of the food. He warmly welcomed every guest, with thoughtful details visible everywhere. In the evenings and mornings, I took leisurely strolls in the nearby Yimin River Riverside Park (just downstairs), enjoying the tranquil scenery of this northern city. Amidst the hustle and bustle of travel, this hotel serves as a stable and healing haven, my most reassuring resting stop on my trips to and from Hailar. The overall experience is perfect, and I wholeheartedly give it a five-star rating. Hailar city isn't large, so getting around by taxi from this hotel is very convenient (via Didi). Most destinations are just a starting fare away. You can easily go to various places to sample Hailar's specialty foods, such as Luburi Russian cuisine, Junxiangyuan hot pot lamb, Yonglan pies, Zhaoxingjia large-slice grilled meat, Nuomintala pot tea, and more. The downstairs parking lot is very convenient, making it car-friendly.

The hotel's location is pretty good, about 2 kilometers from Wanda Plaza. The decor has a strong local flavor, with plenty of Mongolian horse and morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) elements. The room size was decent, and the front desk staff even upgraded my room for free. The only drawback is the soundproofing. I could clearly hear people talking, singing, and yelling in the neighboring rooms, one after another, all night long. It was like a constant show, from midnight until 5 AM. They certainly had a lot of energy! I didn't get a wink of sleep!

The hotel's surroundings are very pleasant. There's a botanical garden right next door where the hostas were recently in full bloom, making it a lovely place for a walk if you have time. The room itself was quite spacious, and the view from the floor-to-ceiling window was excellent. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very warm and helpful. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning wasn't very effective, requiring a bit of patience for the room to cool down.

Absolutely loved this hotel! Both the adults and kids had a fantastic time! The entire hotel, from its exterior to the interior decor, is beautifully themed around nesting dolls, making it incredibly picturesque and perfect for photos. The smart controls in the rooms and the various interactive activities specially designed for children made for an excellent experience for the little ones! Not to mention, the adjacent nesting doll scenic area offers unlimited access during your stay, and it's never crowded, so the kids had an absolute blast. We also tried a travel photoshoot within the hotel, which had a wonderful Russian, retro-romantic vibe. I highly recommend this hotel for families with children – it's definitely worth the trip!

GGuest UserTaking advantage of the May Day holiday, I spontaneously embarked on a trip without much planning, intending to decide things as I went along. My classmate's mother recommended this hotel. To find a 5-star guesthouse-level hotel at this price during May Day was truly exceptional value for money. The hotel environment is excellent; although some areas were undergoing renovation, it didn't detract from the overall guest experience. The front office manager was incredibly welcoming, asking about our travel plans and offering genuine advice, such as visiting Dazhao Temple in the evening and reminding us about the significant temperature difference between day and night, suggesting we dress warmly. On my second day, I had originally planned to go to Chilechuan and then the desert, but she advised me to visit the desert first and then Chilechuan if time permitted. I readily took her advice, and the trip turned out to be perfect. The hotel's breakfast was fantastic and highly recommended. I look forward to staying here again during the summer holidays!

ZZhoujinchen~The room was pretty good. This seemed to be the cheapest room type with a bathtub (and complimentary bathtub liner). They offer a free extra bed for kids. Even with the extra bed, we could still open our 28-inch suitcase. I saw the cheapest room without a tub, and it was indeed too small. The hotel facilities are excellent, with lots of entertainment options, including sports, arcade games, and a kids' playground. Sandboards and sand toys are also provided. The outdoor splash pool is large and beautiful; it would probably be great for swimming in the summer. Although the hotel is massive, they have a mini-train service for transfers, which the kids absolutely loved. Even during the May Day holiday when the hotel was full, we didn't have to wait too long for transfers. The food variety changed quite a bit over our two-day stay, so we didn't get bored. Drinks are free-flowing on the ground floor lounge and third floor, so basically, besides shopping, you don't need to spend any other money here. I personally felt that the quality and variety of dishes were better when there were more people. Most of the staff provided excellent service, especially the front-door staff. They were always friendly and helpful when we came and went, proactively assisting with anything we asked. They truly are the face of the hotel! Downsides: 1. The hotel was a bit warm. We were told the air conditioning couldn't cool at the time in the room. It only got less hot when we left the curtains open and let the sun in. The restaurants and other areas weren't very cool either. I wonder if it cools down in the summer; it might be unbearable for people sensitive to heat. 2. During the May Day holiday, there seemed to be too many part-time staff who clearly lacked pre-job training, especially in the restaurant! During dinner, a young server dropped a bowl while clearing dishes. I watched as the oil splattered all over our table, and the clothes of my family members sitting nearby got oil spots all over their backs. Two or three girls picked up the bowl and continued clearing the table, completely disregarding whether anyone around them had been splashed. I didn't even receive an apology. When I saw my family's backs, I realized the food on the table must have been contaminated, and I instantly lost my appetite. I asked the server, ”You splattered us, shouldn't we at least get an apology and a wet wipe to clean up?” The server said she also got splashed, which is why she didn't realize. I feel this isn't the kind of service I should expect from a hotel that costs over 5,500 yuan per night. If only I had received an apology immediately after the bowl dropped, I would have said, ”No worries!” 3. The dry-wet separation shower stall had no place to put clothes. If the children were older, it probably wouldn't be suitable to share the same room, as showering would be inconvenient.

VVV188My overall stay exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, making it super convenient for dining and getting around. The lobby is clean and grand, and the staff are very friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was spacious with great natural light and ventilation. Housekeeping was incredibly thorough; there wasn't a speck of dirt or any unpleasant smells, even in the corners and bathroom. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a really good night's sleep. All the amenities were in perfect working order, with hot water and air conditioning functioning smoothly. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and tasted great. For a mid-range hotel, this level of quality and value for money is truly rare. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

LLuqiDon't bite off more than you can chew. The overall staff capability and hotel facilities simply aren't up to par for holiday service. Honestly, the hotel wasn't even at full capacity during the May Day holiday, though it was certainly much busier than a normal weekday. The result? Completely inadequate service. 1. **Limited Restaurant Seating**: Finding a table for breakfast took about 10 minutes, and staff offered no guidance or assistance whatsoever. When I asked a server for help finding a seat (as I was alone), they directly suggested I share a table with a family of three who were already halfway through their meal, with the remaining seats cluttered with the kids' bags and toys. 2. **Limited & Unreplenished Breakfast Items**: The breakfast selection itself was quite limited (also due to the small restaurant size), and many dishes weren't refilled for extended periods. Being a watermelon lover, I checked for watermelon four times within half an hour, and it was never restocked (as shown in the picture). 3. **Wi-Fi Issues & Poor Front Desk Service**: Upon arriving in my room, I found the Wi-Fi wasn't connecting. I called the front desk, and even after following their instructions, it still wouldn't connect. The front desk then said they would send an engineer to check it out. Forty minutes later, no engineer had arrived, so I called the front desk again. The first thing I heard was a loud sigh from the front desk staff (before I even had a chance to sigh myself!). I really wonder how this hotel trains its employees.

The room was spacious and tidy, with a great separation of wet and dry areas, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an excellent view. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The revolving restaurant on the 26th floor was amazing; breakfast included authentic lamb offal soup and shaomai, and dining while overlooking the panoramic city views added a wonderful sense of occasion. The service was warm and attentive; the front desk processed my check-in efficiently and thoughtfully provided welcome fruit and local dairy snacks. The facilities are comprehensive, including a heated swimming pool and a gym. Overall, the value for money is outstanding.
