This is an absolutely amazing hotel! It's very pleasant and has a fantastic view. The front desk staff are incredibly kind and polite. They're also very responsible. After I checked out, they found my lost item and called me to say they would send it by mail. I had been so upset, blaming myself and feeling anxious, so you can imagine how grateful I was for that call. The Monogram Gangneung hotel staff are truly wonderful and responsible. Thank you so much!
On the first night of our two-night stay, after dinner, we returned to our room to find the doorknob broken. I sustained a minor injury (a bruise on my knee) while trying to open the door.
The next day, I explained the situation to the front desk. Their response was, 'Can't you go out for a bit? We'll fix it while you're gone.' Given my frequent overseas business trips, I'm quite surprised that a hotel of this caliber didn't even bother to ask if I was okay after I got injured. Since it wasn't a major injury anyway, and Seamarq isn't exactly known for its service, I decided to just go along with it. I told them I'd go out for a tea and dinner and left.
Upon my return, I found that nothing had been repaired. So I called them again. The person on the phone from housekeeping said, 'We haven't received any such request. Let me check. Is there anything else you need?' When I said no, they let out an incredibly exasperated sigh, saying 'Yes... [sigh]'. It was truly absurd. I wasn't being difficult or demanding special service because of my injury, especially at a hotel charging these prices. So, to have the customer service team sigh at me was incredibly frustrating.
About 10 minutes later, the maintenance team came up. They then asked if I could leave again so they could repair it. I wondered why they made me leave earlier if this was going to happen. Anyway, I left and came back again, only to find it was just a makeshift repair. I was too fed up to argue further, so I didn't say anything.
I suppose I'll end up staying at Seamarq again when I visit Gangneung, as there's no real alternative until Shilla Monogram opens. I'll just think of this place not as a hotel, but as a ridiculously expensive luxury infinity pool. This was my fourth stay, and it seems that every time I come, the beautiful hardware is completely ruined by the service.
However, the service for other facilities like the pool and spa wasn't bad. (While not professional, there was a sense of thoughtfulness in many aspects.)
SkyBay Hotel was great! It's changed it a lot over the past couple years. They have automated check-in now and the selection of cafes and shops in the lobby are very convenient and and open till late. The arcade is tons of fun! Visitors have the option of using the Infiniti pool and sauna for an additional fee.
The staff is helpful, and the room is clean and comfortable. However, in winter you are unable to adjust the temperature of your room. The views are incredible from skyBay Hotel. No wonder they pick this location for the drama business proposal!
We had a great time!
I had a very comfortable stay for three nights in Gangneung, thanks to how clean and well-maintained the accommodation was.
The breakfast was fairly simple, but more than enough to start the day, and I especially appreciated the sense of space, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and comfortable.
Getting around was easy whether by bus or taxi, and the location made it convenient to visit nearby attractions like Ojukheon and Jungang Market. For those travelling by car, the spacious parking area is definitely a big plus.
There’s also a lovely pine forest path just behind the property, perfect for a quiet stroll. The ocean view from the room really added to the holiday atmosphere, and being able to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset was one of the highlights of staying at Shilla Monogram.
The Sun Cruise Hotel is my top choice. This is my second time visiting and staying here. The hotel has a great beach view, and you can watch both sunset and sunrise. Location-wise, it's excellent – just 10 minutes from Jeongdongjin Station. It's a great place to relax and escape the hustle of Seoul city life 👍.
However, the service at the front desk was a bit disappointing. I understand there may be language barriers, and I used Papago translation to communicate in Korean, but they still seemed unw welcoming to us as foreigners. They simply answered ”no” to my question without offering alternative suggestions. As front desk staff, they should provide other options or suggestions to hotel guests instead of just saying ”no” and ending the conversation.
The location was great! The walking trail was nice, and when you go down the walking trail, you can find Wiongchi Port, where you can eat crab and raw fish set. It was delicious. It was a shame that I only stayed for one night. That's right, the sauna was nice. Next time, I want to go long~~🥳💞
Like a new hotel, the room facilities were satisfactory. There was a table in the room, so it was good to eat the food I bought, and it was good that the bathtub, shower and toilet were separated.
The bedding was comfortable and ok. However, the water leaked little by little to see if there was any hose in the bathroom, so I had to repair it in the middle.
At the beginning, it was not good because of the strange smell in the bathroom, but it was adapted quickly.
The location is close to Sokcho, so it is good to go to the market.
- Uh-huh.
I went to check in at 3 o'clock, but there was no preparation for the crowding of users at that time, so I had to wait for check-in for more than an hour and a half. There is no early check-in option, and I had to register on the tablet and wait in the lobby without a slap. There was no place to store my luggage during that time. I split the time and traveled comfortably, but I was thrown away more than an hour and a half like this, and the schedule was twisted and unpleasant.
- Uh-huh.
The rooftop infinity pool was under 1 + 1 promotion, so I used it. It was a heated pool, so it was available despite the cold weather. However, I was embarrassed because there was no prior guidance on whether towels were provided separately or whether they should be brought from the room if they were not provided. I originally provided towels, but I had to go back to the room after I inquired directly that they had to be brought by themselves because they all fell off.
- Uh-huh.
The view is an ocean view, but it doesn't feel like there is a sea right in front of you, but it's just like seeing it at the end. It's not bad.
- Uh-huh.
Overall, the facilities were satisfactory and good, but it was a hotel that was not yet systematicly prepared to meet guests. The staff were friendly, but each part felt that organic communication was not good, and all the inconveniences caused by it had to be handled by the guests.
I think you should think about it and decide to stay.
The ocean view room was truly breathtaking. The rooftop observation deck offers stunning views of both Seoraksan Mountain and the East Sea. The gym boasts ocean views and even doubles as a dance studio. The mango smoothie in the 4th-floor lobby was delicious. A game room in a hotel was a first for me! It's only a 10-minute jog to the Sokcho Ferris Wheel, and right behind the hotel is a port famous for its fresh seafood and crabs.
Excellent stay. Better than expected. I was worried that it would be crowded at the lobby/ common areas due to proximity to casino which was not a preference. The lobby of convention hotel is grand, peaceful and modern.
I was also worried that it would be inconvenient to reach the ski slopes however the shuttle buses were frequent and you can get to the slopes quickly. The bus stop drop off point is right outside the ticket office for ski passes
Hotel service was welcoming and superb from check in/out to housekeeping. As foreigners we received discount coupons for ski rental and pass. View from room was nice and loved the cream and shower gel etc. Room service was quick and portions are huge. Also how it was delivered was really good too with the robot.
Overall very good and comfortable stay.
Facilities: The room only had one pair of slippers in the toilet. There was no clothes rack in the toilet, only a hook behind the door, which was clearly insufficient. There should be at least three racks, one for dirty clothes, one for clean clothes, and one for towels, hung separately.
Cleanliness: We stayed for two days, and no one came to clean. We even had to take our own trash out to throw it away. The mosquito screens were very dirty, probably hadn't been cleaned in a long time; our hands were black after touching them. Two rooms didn't have air conditioning, which could be very hot in the summer.
Environment: Located at the foot of Seoraksan Mountain, the air is fresh and the environment is beautiful.
Service: The room wasn't cleaned. The breakfast was quite good; you could bake your own waffles.

EEEErikaaaTraveling with a 2-year-old child
It was nice that there was a children's playground, an indoor pool, and a large hot spring bath. The child was very satisfied.
The dinner buffet had delicious snow crab and sashimi.
There were various activities on site, as well as a convenience store, restaurant, and cafe, so we could enjoy ourselves all day at the resort.
About 20 cm of snow fell in the middle of the night, but the staff worked hard to shovel it away, which was great.
There were mats laid in the pool to prevent slipping, but they were not all over the place, so the tiled parts were slippery, so please be careful if you have small children.
I asked for bed guards when I checked in, but they never came to install them.

GGuest UserSooooooo niceeeee!!!! We will definitely come again for a skiing trip. We took a 2 bed-room with kitchen unit facing the skiing hills. The view is awesome. As a guest staying at VivaldPark, we got a 10% discount for the Snowyland Ticket. Unforgettable memories.
JJVSWaking up to the sight of the sea was both relaxing and refreshing. The cleanliness of the room and the entire hotel was very well-maintained .
However, there are some areas that could use improvement. The amenities were quite limited. Toiletries weren’t provided, which was fine, but having them would have made the stay more convenient. Also, access to the pool, sauna, and gym required a separate payment, which was a bit disappointing given that many hotels usually include those facilities.
The breakfast was enjoyable, though it came at an additional cost. It was good, but nothing particularly special.
Overall, the best part of this hotel is the beautiful view and the friendly, helpful service from the staff. If you're looking for a clean place with a great view and don’t mind paying extra for amenities, this could be a decent choice.

YyyyykkkmmmThis resort is great! It's not crowded at all, even on the slopes, so we had a truly relaxing vacation. Getting to the ski resort was super easy and convenient. We were lucky enough to catch the tail end of the spring snow, which made my child incredibly happy. The breakfast spread was excellent, and they even had good quality packaged juices and yogurts. It's really an ideal spot for beginner skiers to settle in.
GGuest UserThe overall service met our expectations. For beginner skiers like us, this ski resort is more than adequate. There hasn't been any recent snowfall, so all the snow on the slopes is man-made. The hotel room was spacious, a family-style layout with a large bed and a small bed, perfect for a family trip.
